Chapter 1833 Ambush

Chapter 1833 Ambush

Everything was going according to Rocky's plan as a spearhead comprised of ten thousand soldiers were sent by the Shura Race to capture the Moon City.

The Shura Race intended to win the battle in one fell swoop since they believed there would only be a handful of soldiers left protecting the gated city.

"For any soldiers left inside the Moon City, I am ordering you to surrender, or all of you will be killed!" The commander of the Shura Race shouted in front of the city gate.

Rocky appeared on top of the gate, wearing a confident smile.

He asked his soldiers to raise a white flag on top of the city wall and shout, "We surrender!" Then, they opened the gate.

The commander of the Shura Race immediately felt something was amiss when they surrendered that easily. He hesitated to lead his army inside the fortified city.

"What's the matter? Come in! We've already surrendered!" Rocky invited the opposing army when he saw them hesitate to enter.

"Are you mistaking us for fools? This is obviously a trick!" The commander sneered at him.

"Whether you are fooled or not, the result will just be the same!" Rocky said with a smile.

Before the commander even realized what was going on, a thousand soldiers led by Carla and Eunice suddenly appeared behind them and charged toward their army.

The ambush sowed panic and discord into the troops of the Shura Race. Never in a million years did they expect the human race to attack them like that.

At the same time, another army composed of thousands of soldiers rushed out of the gated city, effectively pinching the Shura Race on two sides.

The tide of the battle quickly turned in favor of the human race.

In only a matter of hours, more than half of the Shura Race's troops had been wiped out.

"Retreat! Retreat!" Seeing that the situation was unfavorable, the commander called for the remainder of his troops to withdraw.

In only a few moments, the once aggressive Shura Race army was running back home with their tails behind their legs.

Everyone in the Moon City let out a victorious cheer high into the sky.

At the same time, both Carla and Eunice managed to reach the city wall.

"The Shura Race army isn't as powerful as I thought," Eunice said with pouted lips.

"Let's not get too carried away. They were just caught off guard. In an even battle, we would still suffer heavy losses," Rocky said with a smile. He didn't want anyone to get overconfident over just one battle.

"Will they attack the Moon City again?" Eunice asked worriedly.

"No, I don't think they will. They're already probably thinking that the Moon City already has a fortified army defending it," Rocky said as he shook his head.

"What is your next plan?"

"I'll lead the army to wipe out the retreating soldiers of the Shura Race," he answered with much confidence.

"What? Are you serious?" Eunice was stunned.

"Yes. I won't give them a chance to come back." A fire lit up inside Rocky's eyes.

Both Eunice and Carla couldn't help but tremble in fear as they stared at Rocky. They couldn't imagine going against such a terrifying opponent. To go against him would be equal to knocking on death's door.

While the Shura Race made haste to retreat, Alonso, the commander in chef, killed the commander of the army out of sheer anger and frustration.

As a royal member, Alonso was the confidant of Prince Zain and was known for his violence. The atmosphere in the army camp was now ice cold due to the fear of the soldiers.

Everyone shivered whenever they saw the fierce look on Alonso's face.

"Israel, what the hell happened? Didn't you say that there were no more troops stationed in the Moon City?" Alonso asked in a cold voice.

"That was what the spy told me before. I don't understand how they could've formed a garrison in such a short amount of time." As a member of the spearhead, Israel was now a trusted assistant of Alonso.

"I think they set up a trap for us. Since we failed to get the Moon City, we must take down the Cloud Castle instead. Otherwise, it will be difficult for us to gain a foothold in this war," Alonso said after gathering his thoughts.

"What if I lead an army of twenty thousand soldiers to try and take the Moon City?" Israel wanted to fight back.

"No, I've made up my mind. We're going to get the Cloud Castle!" Alonso refused immediately.

"If we go there, we won't have any way to retreat if something goes wrong. It's too risky!" Israel said worriedly. In fact, from the very beginning, he did not agree to go to the back of the human race's defense line and fight against them alone.

"What's the risk? The defenses of the human army are already spread thin as paper. If we pressure one area, it will easily break under the might of our army. Taking down the Cloud Castle is essential for us to collaborate from within with our main army and finally end this war once and for all!" Alonso said confidently, oozing with arrogance.

Seeing that the commander in chief already made up his mind, no one wanted to put up a fight to contest it. A few days later, Alonso led the rushing army to the Cloud Castle.

Of course, Rocky also predicted this. He knew that the spearhead of the Shura Race would head down south past the Rain City, preparing to pass through a new line of defense, before taking down the Cloud Castle at the rear of the human army.

But Rocky could rest easy knowing that the Shura Race was heading towards their doom. Being so deep inside the enemy lines, they had no means of getting any food and support.

Since he had already predicted their plans, Rocky sent a message to Devin asking him to withdraw his troops from the Rain City so the Shura Race army could pass through unimpeded.

Meanwhile, Rocky and his army made a detour from the Moon City before arriving at the Cloud Castle at the same time as the Shura Race. They were now ready to attack their unsuspecting opponents at any moment.

The soldiers of the spearhead were both exhausted mentally and physically. After their crushing defeat at the Moon City, the army's morale was at an all-time low, but their commander in chief couldn't give even a sliver of his attention to them. He was blinded by the slim chance of victory.

Soon, the impending battle broke out in the Cloud Castle.

The garrison of the Cloud Castle was comprised of elite members of the human army, and their commander was a Spiritual Emperor at the premium stage. As a master, he was proud and arrogant.

When the Shura Race started their attack, the commander went to the frontlines himself, intending to finish the battle in only a matter of seconds. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

The commander, with a spiritual halberd in one hand, led ten thousand soldiers out of the city to face the opposing army in a head-on battle.

While the two armies stood still, Israel emerged from his army before signaling to the garrison's commander to fight him one on one.

"Retreat now or face the wrath of my spiritual halberd!" The commander of the garrison shouted at the army of the Shura Race. Since he was a Spiritual Emperor at the premium stage, he thought that he was the strongest one on the battlefield.

Israel sneered and rushed towards his opponent alone.

The commander sneered when he saw this. He was oblivious of Israel's real strength, and so he charged at him.

A battle between the two quickly broke out, but it took only a few moments for Israel to pummel his opponent to the ground and make him spurt out blood.

"You are a Spiritual Emperor at peak state!" The commander of the garrison was stunned. He didn't expect someone that strong would show up.
