The Moonlit Desires: Bound by Blood

“Run, Emma…… Go!!” My father pleaded in a grief-stricken voice, “They are heartless…… Go! Run and go inform others!!”

I was shaking, tears rolling involuntarily down my face watching his claws penetrate deep inside my father’s neck. “Dad……!”

“Run Emma!!”

Without a second thought, I stood up and bolted out of the back door before the vampire could do anything.

My heart shattered as I sprinted away, my legs carrying me as far as they could. And in an instant the anguished cries of my father pierced the air, echoing in my ears. “Ahhh……” I froze, my entire being weighed down by the crushing realization. I didn’t need confirmation……… My father is dead!

The pain consumed me, leaving me hollow and broken. I was sobbing hard when his words rang vigorously in my head, “Run Emma!!” I stood up and continued running.

I can sense the presence of vampires closing in on me, a chilling fear gripped my heart. And in a split second, I felt a hand reaching out to grab me. So with all my strength, I thrust the door open, causing it to tremble on its hinges, creating a commotion that caught the attention of everyone in the room.

“The enemies!!!!” I screamed and suddenly fell to the ground as I felt Vincenzo’s canine sink into Ava’s neck.

“Emma!!” I heard my mother rushing toward me. She crumpled me close to her chest despite the blood stains on my clothes and body. I could tell that she was already feeling weak and suffocated…… the pain of losing a mate.

However, not that long she immediately let go of me and held her chest, “Mo……. Mom,” I wanted to rush toward her but the pain inside me was too much. I lost my father and my mate marked another wolf in my presence.

“Everyone stop!!” Alpha Matteo Salvatore shrieked, people were running around in fear. Terrifying screams and cries can be heard.

“Look! We are under attack……. The male should grab the females and pups as much as they can and take them to the dungeons!!” He ordered through the link, sending a quick signal.

I watched in pain as Alpha Matteo Salvatore and a group of our fierce warriors, along with high-ranking werewolves, leaped into action. Positioning themselves in front of the vampires that had managed to enter inside the building. With a swift transformation, they shifted into their powerful wolf forms, ready to attack. Alpha Matteo Salvatore howled loudly as a warning, and that’s when the other remaining vampires outside started rushing inside the place and the battle began.

I crawled toward my agonizing mother and held onto her hands since that was the little I could do to be of help, “Where…… is your father?” She managed to ask, I slowly looked up to her. Staring into my eyes, she got the message and screamed out in pain.

He is dead…….. If those assholes didn’t organize to mark today just to get to me at least the invasion of the vampires could have reached everyone on time and I shouldn’t have lost my father. But just to see me rot in pain, they decided to carry on with the ceremony and now this is the outcome…..

The fight is getting damn serious, they are now fighting face-to-face. There is a smell of blood everywhere, the war is getting intense, and from the look of things this vampire’s attack looked planned. They were killing everyone both the female and pups, without any mercy. It’s like they knew today was the celebration of our freedom from their awful hostage and decided to attack us.

“Everyone get to the dungeon!!!” The Alpha mind linked quickly and started killing the vampires mercilessly, matching their energy.

“Light up the machine guns!!” That was Vincenzo’s voice. My heart sliced at his voice, my wolf is going through pain and to get up from here seems impossible.

Me and my mother were lying down flat holding each other’s hands in the middle of the battle ground. “Emma…… please get up and run,” I shook my head at her.

“Please, don’t be stubborn today,” she pleaded with tears in her eyes but she didn’t know that I couldn’t even stand up. I am dying slowly inside, another female is bearing his mark and I have already lost my father.

“We are losing!! Get everyone out of here and light up this place,” the Alpha howled loudly again through the mind link.

“Emma….. Please go,” my mother’s dying voice came again but I shook my head in refusal.

Looking at me, tears rolled down her face, she tightened her hand on mine and pulled it toward her chest. “No matter what Emma baby always know that me and your father loved you and have always wanted the best for you. Please be strong out there for us,”

I know that voice, I know that she is giving up, though I wish that she could fight the pain more just like I am doing right now but I know that it is impossible_ she loves him deeply.

“Go with Ava for protection,” I shook my head, anger, and betrayal flashing through my eyes. Her brow knitted in confusion but before she could react she shouted out in pain.

“Emma, I……. Love you,” that was her last word before her body went cold. “Mom……!!!!” I screamed painfully, not minding the blood-spilling battle going on around me.

I crawled and placed my head on her chest, crying out in pain that I didn’t notice nor heard when the Alpha and others ran away setting up the building on fire in a way to kill the vampires.

The remaining vampires got the hint and started scrambling out of the building that was already burning in a blaze of fire. They were running out and just then one of the vampires stopped hearing my silent sobs and forcefully pulled me out of the place roughly.

Pushing me outside to the ground in front of the other vampires, but I ignored them and turned to stare at the burning building. I looked at the lifeless body of my mother as the flame soaked her up and burned her body into pieces. I cried out watching in horror as the whole building was burnt down in pieces.

“Where do you think that your pack members could have run to hide?” My cheeks were roughly held up by one of the vampires, his stinking breathing fans on my face causing me to instantly pull my face away…… it was a mixture of blood.

“You silly thing, talk!!” I felt him smack my face in anger, making my neck forcefully twist to the other side.

“Or do you wish to end up with them?” He turned to point at the lifeless bodies on the ground but still, I remained numbed after all even if I die I won’t be losing anything.

“She is pretty,” another vampire suddenly blurted out with lust in his voice.

“Why not take her home, I bet she will make a huge fortune for the king!” Another person suggested disgustedly, making other ones burst into laughter.

The vampire in front of me looked at me closely, a malicious grin appearing on his face, “Let’s see how much you will make, dog!”
