4:05 am. Jhonia opened her eyes suddenly looking at the ceiling.

“Sleeping here was not a good idea. Why am I awake?” She said and asked herself, as she sat up and realized that the light in the other section of her room is turned on. She sighed.

“Why is he here?” She asked, took her covering and put it on, pushed her feet into her slippers, and began walking towards the other room when suddenly she stopped.

“That’s because your daughter got caught… This has nothing to do with me… Why can’t I, did I commit a crime? … I thought so. … Just sit tight and leave everything to me… Hmm… Okay.” Nearce finished talking on the phone and ended the call, Jhonia wondered who he was talking to and whose daughter got caught! Though it was not her concern she decided not to make it so.

“Do you find this room very comfortable, Mr. Pinnock? For the past month you have been sleeping in here, why?” Jhonia walked out of the room completely, saying to him then she asked Nearce?

“Hmm. It’s where you lay at night! Though you can’t see that I have changed, I still feel the need to be by your side… You haven’t started looking for a job… Have you changed your mind?”

Nearce stated to her, saying before asking if she had a change of mine. Getting up and walking over to her as he was about to hug her, Jhonia stepped aside from him.

“I have decided to start today, and I meant what I said. I don’t want you to have a hard time, if you’re having one, sleeping without me. I heard you. Yes. You have changed but you decided to change when I decided to no longer have interest in you! Please! Understand that I’m doing this for me… Because I have gotten to know you, but” Jhonia began explaining to him, and reminding him to sleep without her. Suddenly, he kissed her, cutting her off as he pulled her body much closer to him.

She then walked away from him but he grabbed and hugged her from behind!

Later that morning. She woke up and checked her phone for messages and calls, seeing there was none. She cleaned her room and went to freshen up herself. Afterward, she went to her closet and got dressed for the day. She called Crissian to bring her breakfast to her. At noon she stayed inside filling out her resume to send each one out! Knock²!

“Come in.” Jhonia said, and the door was open. She looked up as Crissian entered the room.

“What are you doing, Ms. Jhonia?” Crissian asked, as she closed the door and began walking over and having a seat on the solo couch.

“I want to get out of Nearce, way. So he can forget about me. I think it’s best I send out my resumes now so maybe I can move on with working soon.” Jhonia responded, explaining herself to Crissian as she continued to write.

“Ms. Jhonia, see the person in fact he’s the best person to do it and he is Orean.” Crissian said, with a smile on her face. Jhonia watches as her smile widens the more her mind wanders about Orean.

“Okay, I’ll have him send them for me then. No, that won’t do. Why don’t you send them to him for me, so he can send them out.”

Jhonia said to her, then retreated only to have her send them instead. Jhonia watched as Crissian happily picked up each resume.

“I will send them”

“So the just coming baby. Orean is the father isn’t he?” Jhonia asked, and Crissian stopped picking up the resume sheets… She finally looked up!

“We never go out. Once you become a maid, a full-time maid at that! You only go out when your Madam sends you or you go shopping for groceries. It is always like this for the maids… Except for Tashine, she’s a part-timer, and Ms. Cornell, she already has a life, her two sons are already married with children. I am really thankful to her for helping me. But then Orean was so sweet and kind to me, how could I not fall in love with him? Over these years we secretly got married and now we are having a baby. I’m really happy. The two of you would do as you please because I don’t intend to live there any time soon. With the baby and such. What do you think?” Jhonia said and wondered. She suddenly said to her in a low tone of voice then asked? Crissian looks at Jhonia with surprise.

“You look surprised? See when I start working I will be too busy to go all the way back to that address. I bought an apartment in the city. I do hope it will be close to the company that decided to hire me, but I need someone to take care of the house for me. I have already talked to her about getting someone for me but I haven’t talked back with her about it. Plus, Orean is the baby’s father and he will need time to be with you especially at night as he will need rest as well! I’m not rushing so take time to think about it. Okay?” Jhonia asked. She then began explaining herself and why she should take her offer because still working as a maid while being pregnant might not be the best decision. Anyhow she could continue working for now but will be living for herself. Being her maid is just a cover up, she smiles and asks.

“Only us knows that”

“Don’t worry your secret’s safe with me!” Jhonia said to her in a whisper, cutting her off. Crissian smiles, and nods at her.

“Okay. I will go and send these for you then, I will bring your dinner to you.” Crissian said, taking up all the resume sheets.

“Oh no, see what happened… Haha, I didn’t want to have breakfast with my… With Nearce so I had breakfast here, I will have dinner with Mrs. Pinnock. Don’t worry. Mmm, let’s go.” Jhonia said as she then stood up, explaining she was just avoiding Nearce. Crissian stood with her and put away the summaries so no one would see them, then leave the room together.
