Chapter 263 An Offer
Chapter 263 An Offer
As Koen prepared to ask further, Frey hung up the phone.
He quickly called Taylor and the others, instructing them to send people to search for Nathaniel at roadside stalls and eateries. They had no idea how far the quarrel between Nathaniel and Frey would escalate, but it was evident that things were falling apart.
Frey sat in front of her laptop, feeling disoriented and unable to focus. She pushed the laptop away and lay down on the bed, trying to rest.
That night, she slept poorly, plagued by nightmares. After waking early, she prepared some noodles, and as she was eating, Mandy's call interrupted her.
Frey answered quickly.
"Ms. Frey, is now a good time to talk?"
Frey was taken aback. Mandy seemed to have something important to discuss.
"Yes, it's fine. What's up?"
"Ms. Frey, what happened between you and Mr. Nathaniel?"
Frey steadied herself. "It's over. We broke up."
Mandy's voice dropped to a whisper. "There's been a message from Technologent Group regarding the East Saeville design drawing. They're demanding the version you provided. If it turns out it wasn't designed by you, they'll terminate their cooperation with Andala Corp."
"And Andala Corp will have to pay three times the liquidated damages!"
Frey's face tightened. What was Nathaniel thinking? He must be trying to force Mandy into hiring her at Andala Corp. It seemed Nathaniel wasn't ready to let her go easily and was trying to pull her back into his world with these manipulative tactics.
It appeared that Nathaniel wanted Frey to understand the consequences of leaving him. That he could still control her life.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Mandy's voice came through cautiously. "Ms. Frey, if you come to Andala Corp, it aligns with our needs. We wouldn't have to make any special arrangements to contact you in the future."
"Although it's risky, sometimes the more dangerous the place, the safer it is."
Frey chuckled at Mandy's words, wondering if she had been watching too many spy movies. "Alright, I'll print out my resume and come by later."
“Great, Ms. Frey. You can also submit your resume through our company's official platform. Either way is fine."
Frey was amused by Mandy's eagerness to have her on board. She had always been highly efficient, so she quickly prepared her resume, sent it to Andala Corp's email, and printed a hard copy.
Dressed and ready, Frey took the bus to Andala Corp. Unlike the grand Technologent Group, Andala Corp's office was in a narrow alley behind older buildings, in a commercial area that had seen better days.
The streets were cramped, and the road surface was rough. Without a driver or a luxury car, Frey had to navigate the crowded morning bus. By the time she got off, her hair was a mess, her windbreaker was wrinkled, and her white sneakers were stained and uncomfortable.
People were indeed strange. Three years in prison had toughened her to the lowest levels of life, but a few months of comfort with Nathaniel had made her feel ill-equipped to handle such situations again.
Frey felt a pang of self-reproach. Despite being a shareholder of Andala Corp, only Mandy knew her background, and the rest of the company had no idea.
Since she was committed to this new role, she needed to perform impeccably. Arriving late for a job application would only make her look bad.
