“Anything else that you’re feeling?” Liara asked Ethlyn, who shook her head.
“I’m feeling drowsy and have a headache. I guess I need more sleep.” Ethlyn replied and ran touched at the place where she had no hair now because of surgery. Even the hairs around that place had been trimmed.
“Okay then, you can have some rest. We will talk later.” Liara replied, and Tiara quickly added.
“And I get hair extension or wing. So, you won’t feel awkward if that is what you are thinking.” She said to cheer her up, to which Ethlyn smiled.
“Thank you, Tiara.”
“Oh, please!! Don’t be formal again. Call me ‘Tee.'”
“Okay, enough now. Let Ethlyn rest for a while.” Sophia said and caressed Ethlyn’s cheek. “Don’t take any kind of stress, okay.”
“Hmm.” Ethlyn nodded her head and watched everyone leave one by one. She couldn’t help but feel special watching so many people get worried for her. She had barely closed her eyes when she heard someone open the door again. She opened her eyes and saw Roselet, who was ready to leave, watching Ethlyn sleeping.
“I’m awake, pup.” She spoke when she watched how sad Roselet looked finding her sleeping.
“Mommy?”
“Listen, pup; I’m not your mommy. Just because you don’t have a mommy doesn’t mean you will call me mommy.” Ethlyn said rudely, narrowing her eyes.
“You’re my mommy. It’s just that this truth is unaware of you.” Roselet corrected her, walking toward Ethlyn. “And I have a mommy; what do you think about where I come from? My daddy didn’t buy me from the mall.” She then responded to Ethlyn.
They both kept glaring at each other for a while before they started smiling. Ethlyn opened her arms for Roselet, and she quickly ran to hug her. “My princess,” Ethlyn mumbled and kissed her hair. She recalled how they had fought in the same way when they had met.
“I’m sorry, Mommy,” Roselet whispered, breaking the hug, and started struggling to climb on her bed. Ethlyn helped her a little, and finally, she was on the bed. “I thought I would lose you forever.”
Ethlyn smiled meekly and kissed the top of her hands. “I would have started a war against Moon Goddess if she would have separated me from my daughter.”
Roselet giggled, hearing it before speaking, “I can’t doubt that because you’re pretty brave.” She watched Ethlyn holding her head. “I should be going now. You can rest for a while.”
“If you want, then you can rest with me, beside me, because this bed is big enough for both of us.” Ethlyn offered. “Only if you don’t have anything else to do.” She added.
“I’m free.” Roselet agreed in the next second.
After a moment, Roselet slept, holding Ethlyn’s waist. Ethlyn learned from Sophia that how Roselet was miserable without her.
That was when she recalled when she gained consciousness two nights before when Calvin had left her side just to feed Roselet dinner because she didn’t use to eat it without him. It was also her way of making Calvin eat his dinner. It was a tough time, so both father and daughter were looking after one other.
When she had gained consciousness, Caroline was sitting beside her.

FLASHBACK
*
“Oh my god, Ethlyn!!” Caroline carefully watched Ethlyn’s eyes to check whether it was really open or she was dreaming because Ethlyn’s eyes were half opened. “Finally, you’re back. Let me call Calvin. He just left her.” She said in excitement was about to leave when Ethlyn held her hand and shook her head.
“What happened? You don’t want me to call Calvin?” She asked in shock. Ethlyn again shook her head before speaking.
“No!!” Ethlyn replied. “I…I don’t want to do anything with him.” Hearing this, Caroline’s face paled. She couldn’t help but feel bad for Calvin, who wanted Ethlyn to wake up, but after Ethlyn was awake, she didn’t want him at all. “Can you please help?” Ethlyn asked.
“Okay, I will, but only if you will tell me the reason behind your this decision.” Caroline kept the condition. Ethlyn wasn’t sure whether she could complain about her brother to her face or not, but she indeed felt that, as a woman, she would understand her anger toward Calvin.
With this thought, she wound up everything that had happened.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“So, what do you want?” Caroline asked calmly. It was clear that Ethlyn was mad and hurt by Calvin’s behavior.
“I don’t want to stay anywhere near him, and I don’t want to talk to him either,” Ethlyn replied. She wanted to take revenge on him by hurting him in the same way in which he did but guess what? That wasn’t her. And she couldn’t stoop that low just to teach him a lesson. She couldn’t insult his mother just because he did the same.
“That is it?” Caroline asked. “My little brother needs to taste his own medicine. Giving silent treatment and cold looks are a childish way to show anger. The real revenge is when you will make him feel the same way that he did it to do. Otherwise, he will never learn to value your presence and will take you for granted.”
“But…”
“No, but wut!! You shared your problem with me, having faith in me, right?” Caroline asked to which Ethlyn nodded her head. “Then let me solve your problem in the best way. You told me that he didn’t let you mark him, but I will make sure that he will be begging on his knees to mark him now, keeping his damn attitude by his side.”
“But… but I can’t feel Cinder.”
“That’s because of medicine or something. Lee will check on that. And after hearing what Calvin has done with you, trust me, each and every family member will favor you over him.” Caroline spoke. “To be honest, we can never thank you for what you did for that idiot. So, I won’t thank you for that.”
“But still, I could have understood if you would have risked your life for Rose, but what did you think when you risked your life for Calvin? I mean, if anything would have happened to him, then Rose would have been all yours, just like you wanted.”
“I won’t lie, but if anyone else would have been there at the place of Alpha Calvin, then I would have done the same. So, by saving him, I don’t think I did anything big. But yes, I had forgotten how to breathe when I saw a bullet coming in his direction.”
“Have… have you fallen in love with that stupid?” Caroline asked, to which Ethlyn didn’t say anything because she wasn’t sure of that question. “All right, think about that. By then, I will talk to everyone about an excellent skit that is going on in my mind.” She said with a smirk.
“Won’t be able to smell lies? I mean, if you’re planning anything, then he can sense it.”
“I’m a witch, remember?” Caroline said confidently. “But I have to keep Colton away from all this. Not that he is interested in all this skit and drama, but the fact that anyone’s power doesn’t work on him. He won’t be able to lie, and in case he did, Calvin would smelt it.
Ethlyn was about to ask why it was possible that her power couldn’t work on Colton when Caroline spoke, “Calvin is here. Act like you were never awake.”

Flashback ends!!

Ethlyn didn’t know how long she slept holding Roselet in her arms, but the moment she opened her eyes lazily, she found a pair of brown eyes looking at her.
“You’re taking revenge on me by acting to forget me, aren’t you?”
