The Returning EX (John and Sophia)

Chapter 2143

Chapter 2143 Life is Fragile

Cindy found it rather suspicious how Leah had only been found a few days after her death. Leah's legs

were weak, but she was used to having maids caring for her, and she was probably mature and

experienced enough to know what to do—she would've probably spent some money to hire someone

to care for her. However, Cindy could only make wild guesses since there was no news of Leah's death

yet.

Aurora stepped out of her room after Cindy left her room to prepare breakfast. It seemed like Aurora

had a late night out—she stretched her limbs and yawned as she shuffled out of her room. Cindy heard

the sound of her footsteps from her spot in the kitchen, and she hesitated for a moment before she

turned the gas off and walked out of the kitchen. "Are you busy today as well?"

"I have a meeting with some guys from the production team in the afternoon. We're done with the

soundchecks, so we should be starting the recording soon," Aurora replied before walking over to the Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

kitchen while swinging her arms. "What are you cooking? It smells good." Cindy returned to the kitchen

and got back to cooking after that, but she couldn't stop herself from approaching the topic of Leah's

death. "Did Ian tell you anything about Leah? Something happened."

Aurora knitted her brows upon hearing this. "What is it? What happened? Did she try to jump off a

building again?" It was evident that Aurora had no idea about what had happened. Cindy let out a sigh

before breaking the news. "It's worse this time. She's dead." Aurora didn't seem to believe Cindy at

first, so she let out a scoff. "What do you mean? What happened to her? She can't be dead. A woman

like her would probably outlive everyone. Where did you guys hear the news? I bet it's all fake," Aurora

uttered.

"Did she try to create another sob story for herself? Well, she might have gone overboard this time if

she tried to claim that she's dead," Aurora added after a while. Cindy completely understood Aurora's

response to the news—Cindy had felt the same when she first heard about it. She simply couldn't

believe that Leah had died just like that. After a short pause, Cindy finally replied to Aurora's words. "I

don't think it's fake news. Ian told me that her body was already rotting by the time someone found her.

I'm not sure what happened, but I heard that she didn't complete her treatment at the hospital. She

seemed to have run out of the hospital midway through her treatment."

Cindy turned around to look at Aurora. "We'll have to wait for the police's report. I'm curious to know

what happened, too."

The playful, amused look on Aurora's face faded off after that. "Is she really dead? That can't be true,

right?" Aurora blinked a few times. "That's impossible. Leah's the sort of woman who would want to

torture the whole world before dying. She wouldn't die just like that. Was she killed?"

Cindy had the same suspicions. She was convinced that Leah wouldn't have died unless someone had

tried to kill her. Furthermore, Leah probably offended a ton of people with that terrible temper of hers,

so it was likely that someone hated her enough to kill her. Cindy shook her head. "I don't know. Ian

doesn't know, either. We're all waiting for the police's investigation."

The muscles in Aurora's face twitched. "I can't believe she died just like that. Tsk, tsk. Hold on. I need

to wash my face—I don't think I'm able to process all of this just yet." Cindy simply let out a chuckle

without saying much. Aurora left to wash up in the toilet before she returned to the kitchen. "Oh, gosh. I

can't believe this shocking news. I'll have to call Ian to ask him about it later. How did that woman die

just like that? When you first mentioned her name, I assumed that she had started some sort of trouble

again. But… this news… sounds a little severe."

Aurora didn't seem that happy about the news. Regardless of how angry or vengeful Aurora felt toward

the woman, she didn't wish for her death. Aurora even felt some grief for the woman's death. Life is so

fragile, she thought. After Cindy was done with breakfast, she called for Aurora to eat with her. They

chit-chatted about Leah's incident over breakfast.
