Chapter 27 Unless Stepping on My Corpse
After a brief exchange with Old Mr. Wilson, Dr. Watson and Dean Foley entered the ICU.
When they came out, Dean Foley looked relieved.
“Dr. Watson says he has a seventy percent certainty in this surgery.”
Old Mr. Wilson nodded, exhaling slowly. “Then let’s proceed with the surgery.”
“Yes, surgery,” Old Mrs. Wilson agreed. “The sooner, the better.”
Dean Foley took out the surgical consent form, glanced at it, and handed it to Ava. “Mrs.
Wilson, please sign. The operating room is already prepared.”
As Ava was about to take the pen, the surgical consent form was snatched away by a pair of hands
and quickly torn into pieces, turning into a pile of waste paper.
“I disagree with Dr. Watson being the lead surgeon for Henry’s surgery,” Evelyn said firmly.
“There will be better doctors.”
“Oh!” Dr. Watson, for the first time in his professional career, was angered by such disrespect. “It
seems like someone here doesn’t welcome me. Dean Foley, my time is limited. get in touch
with me after it’s sorted out.”
“Dr. Watson,” Dean Foley hurriedly tried to explain, but Dr. Watson was not receptive and walked away.
What Dean Foley had feared most was that Dr. Watson would refuse to be the lead surgeon
for this operation Unexpectedly in the end it was ruined by a young girl

Glancing at Evelyn, Dean Foley shook his head helplessly. “Think it over; I’ll go try to appease Dr.
Watson.”
“There’s nothing to think about. Arrange the surgery immediately.” Old Mr. Wilson’s face was dark.
“Evelyn, you’re just someone Henry like; you’re not recognized by The Wilson family. You have no right
to intervene in Henry’s affairs.”
Evelyn gave Old Mr. Wilson a faint glance.
“The one without the right is you,” her voice was icy. “I am his legal wife, and his matters can only be
decided by me. Unless I die, you have no say.”
“Are you not thinking of letting Henry live?” Old Mr. Wilson glared.
Evelyn lowered her eyes and fell silent.
She wanted Henry to live more than anyone else, but there was no need to explain to these people.
“In any case, I disagree with Dr. Watson being the lead surgeon.”
“I also disagree.” Alexander suddenly walked out and stood behind Evelyn.
Old Mr. Wilson trembled with anger. “Have you also turned against us?”
“This is just what Henry wanted.” Alexander explained in a muffled voice. “Henry instructed that after he
lost consciousness, everything should be decided by Evelyn.”
He glanced at Evelyn, thinking of Evelyn’s almost frantic appearance just now while searching for
Henry, making his tone more resolute. Just hope that this decision is not wrong.
Old Mr. Wilson couldn’t tolerate it anymore. “Alexander, have you forgotten how she troubled
Henry?”
“I remember, but I still don’t agree. If Henry wake up to find out that I’ve gone against his
wishes, he’ll kill me.”
“You!” Old Mr. Wilson, infuriated, punched him. Nevertheless, he was more determined to
proceed with the surgery. Due to the Wilson family’s stake in this hospital, as long as he agrees, the
surgery can proceed even without a signed consent form.
Evelyn seemed to perceive his intentions and blocked the entrance of the ICU.
“If you want to take him out, you’ll have to step over my dead body.” This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“David, get her out of here!” Old Mr. Wilson shouted.
David hesitated for a moment, then silently retreated to Alexander’s side.
He used to look down on Evelyn, but this time, even though he knew Dr. Watson’s capabilities,
he decided to trust Evelyn’s decision. Or rather, to trust Henry’s decision.
The standoff continued, and Dean Foley returned with Dr. Watson.
Dr. Watson’s attitude seemed to have improved, and he took the initiative to approach Evelyn. *Miss,
I’ve performed thousands of surgeries. As the saying goes: ‘Practice makes perfect.‘ I
believe you can trust me.”
Evelyn lifted her eyelids. “You might not know another saying: ‘A lifetime of reputation can be
ruined in a moment.”
Taking advantage of his unguarded state, she suddenly grabbed Dr. Watson’s hand.
“Ah!” A cry of pain echoed in the hospital corridor.
