The Russian Don – A Dark Mafia Romance

Chapter 31

“Here, Take this,” Vanessa handed me the glass full of water, I was hiccuping, while tears kept streaming down my eyes.

I glanced at her before taking the glass and gulping the water down. She took the empty glass from my hand and placed it on the night table before turning to me.

“What’s the matter? Why are you crying?” She asked me,

I stared at her, debating on what to tell her?

I can’t tell what had been happening between me and Nikolai but I can’t keep everything to myself, it was too much to handle by myself.

“I…I had a fight with Nikolai,” I said,

“Why?” she asked,

“He…. he told me…” I swallowed the lump in my throat as his hurtful words rushed back to my mind.

“… not to mingle with his family members,”

“Why would he say that?” She asked in confusion, I shuddered my shoulders. A fresh set of tears was filling my eyes, “I don’t know,”

“Please don’t cry, Julia,” She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me while I let these tears streaming down my cheeks.

“I’ll talk to him…” I cut her off,

“No, please…Don’t,” I said, holding her hand.

She sighed deeply, staring at me with concern evident in her eyes.

“Julia, I hate to see you cry like this, I don’t know why he said that to you but I know him very well… he says stupid things when he’s angry,” she said, “He must be in a bad mood and said those things to you, please don’t feel bad…”

“Julia,” I hear Penelope’s voice and turned in her direction, she was standing at the door and was looking at me.

“Are you… Okay?” she asked while walking towards me, her eyes filled with regret as she noticed my ears strained my face, “I’m so sorry, This is….”

I cut her off,

“No, this is not your fault,”

“But..”

“Please don’t blame yourself, Pen, I should have listened to him… I work under him and if he doesn’t want me to get close to his family…. Then I won’t,”

“Bullshit,” Flora said while walking inside the room, “You are family too, Julia, never say that again,”

“But…”

She cut me off, “No buts, Julia,”

I stared at her and noticed the determined look on her face, I couldn’t help but smile at her.

Next day,

I was strolling towards the kitchen for water and noticed Nikolai walking downstairs while typing something on his phone. I quickly lowered my head and hurried toward the kitchen. I don’t want to face him after what he said to me earlier. I just want to stay away from him, so that I could save myself from getting hurt by him.

Quietly, I opened the fridge and grabbed the water bottle. I opened the cap and was about to drink, the bottle a few inches away from my lips,

“Miss. Mitchell?”

“Ah!” I was startled by his voice and the water bottle in my hand slipped,

Whole water slipped on me and the bottle landed on the floor, water was streaming from the bottle to the floor. My whole top was drained in water, and my inners were clearly visible as daylight. I swallowed hard before turning to him, His eyes moved from my face to my clothes and moved back to my face.

He sighed and shook his head, I noticed a small smile appearing at the corner of his lips as he walked towards me while removing his coat off his body.

“You always seem to attract trouble, Miss. Mitchell,” He smirked while putting his coat on me.

“Huh?” He bent down and lifted me up in bridal style,

“What are you doing? Nikolai, Put me down!” I began wriggling in his arms.

“Julianna, Stop it,” his grip became harder as I wiggled,

“No, I will not stop until you put me down,” I said, sternly.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“Put me down, Nikolai!!!” I began wriggling hard,

“Julia…. Julia, St-stop,” He ordered but I refused to listen to him,

“Ah!” I screamed as his leg slipped and we both fell down,

“Can’t you… stay put, at least for once in your life?” Nikolai hissed at me while pooping himself on his elbows and looking at me.

“What? You are blaming me for this too? How is it my fault?” I said while looking at him while sitting up.

“Of course, it’s your fault,” he said,

“What?”

“If you didn’t move the way you did, I would’ve not tripped,” he said while sitting up and glaring at me.

“Wow!” I stared at him in disbelief, “Who told you to lift me then?”

“I was helping you,” He said as if it was obvious

“Why? I didn’t ask for any kind of help from you,”

“Your clothes were ruined because of your clumsiness and I was helping you, otherwise, I don’t give a damn,” he roared,

“Really?” I mocked, “You give so many damns they’re literally visible from space,”

“Yes, It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have tried to help an ungrateful girl like you,” he said while pointing his finger at me.

“Ungrateful?” I was shocked at his words,

“Yes, that you are?”

“You should be thanking me for not killing you that night, Mr. Vasiliev,” I said, glaring at him.

“Oh, actually You! should be thanking me, If it’s not for me, you would be buried 6 feet underground by now,”

“Oh really,”

“Yes,”

“You are a jerk, Mr. Vasiliev,” I yelled in anger,

“And you are an ungrateful brat, Miss. Mitchell,”

“Goddamit, I hate you! I hate your dumb voice and your stupid muscles and your awfully attractive face, Mr. Nikolai Vasilev, ”

“Mutual feeling, Miss Julianna Mitchell,” He yelled back,

“Fuck you!” I shrieked in anger,

“Would you?” I noticed a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips, which pissed me off. Trying to control myself, I pushed my hair back in frustration and noticed that, all this time, I was arguing with him while sitting on his lap.

Fuck!

His hand was wrapped around my waist, and none of us was aware of our sitting positions.

“You are impossible,” I glared while standing on my feet,

“You are hopeless,” he replied,

“You!… You are fucking annoying, Mr. Vasiliev,” I yelled and turned around to leave but my legs stopped in their tracks as my eyes landed on Vanessa, Pen, Flora, Roman and Milly. They were standing near Kitchen and were watching us.

“H-How long have you guys been here?” I asked, my heart was thumping inside my chest as I felt so embarrassed standing in front of them.

“From the start,” Flora replied,

“Oh…Umm,” I turned back to see Nikolai, standing up.

“I-I should g-go,” I stuttered and rushed towards the stairs,

“I-I ha-have an important call to make,” I heard Nikolai

Idiot!
