Jenna was over the moon after returning from the Reid residence. As soon she entered the house, Matthew stopped her.

"Jenna, where have you been?" She hadn't noticed her father sitting on the sofa when entering, so she jumped in surprise.

"I-I went to the Reid residence. Didn't you want me to get close to Clark?"

"Nonsense!" Matthew slammed the table and stood up abruptly, saying, "I did ask you to get close to the Reids, but did I ask you to cause any trouble? What's the deal with the news?"

Feeling guilty, she replied, "What news? I-I have no idea."

"Stop pretending," he scolded, his expression filled with anger. "You're my daughter. I'd never let you marry someone like Clark Reid.

"You haven't seen his methods, so you don't know how treacherous he is." Having had multiple encounters with Clark, Matthew knew well what kind of person he was.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have risked offending him and married Judy off to him.

However, Jenna didn't think so.

Seeing Matthew's expression softened slightly, she immediately took advantage of the situation and held his arm while saying coquettishly, "Dad, don't worry. Clark treats me really well.

"Today, he even stood up for me against Judy. No matter what I say, he believes me. In my opinion, Judy will not be useful staying in the Reid family."

Exaggeratedly, Jenna told him about what happened at the Reid residence. Matthew became more uneasy as he listened.

"Jenna, listen to me. He's not a simple-minded person. Do you think he couldn't see through your tricks?"

"Oh, Dad, just rest assured. I promise that if I marry into the Reid family, Clark will definitely help our family business."

He reprimanded, "Let me tell you for the last time, this will never happen. If you insist on getting involved, I will send you abroad to continue your studies, and you can forget all about Dominic too."

Surprised, Jenna looked at her father's intimidating appearance and swallowed back all the words she had intended to say, her smug expression frozen on her face. Reluctantly, she nodded in agreement after some time.

Seeing her aggrieved look, Matthew's heart softened and he kindly advised, "I'm doing this for your own good, Jenna. Don't get upset. Cheer up because Clark will come for a visit tomorrow."

"Clark is coming over to our house?" she asked, her eyes all lit up with excitement. Was he coming to see her because she got injured?

Matthew's reply in the next second shattered her fantasy. "If Judy is as useless as you said, Clark wouldn't have accompanied her back for a visit."

"Accompany Judy? She's coming too?"

"Of course." He warned, "Jenna, I've said what needs to be said. Your affairs with Clark end here. Tomorrow, you absolutely must not cause any trouble."

Her heart was overwhelmed with dissatisfaction, but she dared not defy her father's wishes. In her mind, Judy was not even worth mentioning as an opponent. Clark must have decided to come and see her.

The next morning, Clark accompanied Judy to the Blake mansion for a visit. Piles of gifts were stacked in the living room, astonishing the housekeepers of the Blake household.

Didn't everybody say that Judy had a lower standing than a housekeeper in the Reid family?

And Clark who was rumored to be ugly was unexpectedly handsome. Even with a scar on his face, it didn't affect his appearance at all. Instead, it added to his manly and resolute vibe.

Seeing this, Jenna became insanely jealous and said sourly, "Clark, you're so good to my sister. How lucky of her to marry into the Reid family."

"Jenna, mind your words," said Matthew as he shot a warning glance at her.

"Mr. Blake," Clark greeted with a faint smile, "Apart from these presents, I've prepared a special gift for you and Jenna."

At the mention of this, Jenna's eyes lit up as she exclaimed, "Really? You got me a gift too?"
