Seeing his mother getting angry, Matt quickly tried to pacify her. "Mom, listen to me. I've already started arranging this matter, so you can rest assured."

"Rest assured? How can I rest assured?!" Helen shouted angrily.

"I already had one foot in the grave, yet you can't even lower your head to Dr. Nicholson for my sake?! He is a great healer who can cure paralyzed patients! Is it so embarrassing for you to kneel to him?!"

"Mom! There's a lot more to this situation that you don't understand!" Matt's temper flared up too. "And besides, I am the president of the Roseland Chamber of Commerce! How can I kneel to a barely legal kid?! What dignity would I have left?!"

The wrinkles on Helen's face trembled. "Is your dignity so important that your mother's life is beneath it?! Haven't you always wanted me to write a will, leaving all the Fox Family's assets to you and not your sister? Do you think I will give you your sister's share of the assets when you can't even handle such a small matter?!"

Matt's expression changed abruptly. Though everyone knew in their hearts that he wanted the elder to write a will that would benefit him to the fullest, no one had ever openly talked about it.

After all, talking about money could damage relationships, and everyone maintained a tacit understanding about it.

He and Nicholas might have taunted Megan about being interested in the family's wealth, but that was all in jest.

Yet now, Helen was speaking about it so openly. It was evident how angry she had become!

Matt's countenance shifted multitudes before his tone softened. "Mom, what are you saying? Compared to the Fox Family's assets, of course, I'd much rather see you healthy and live a long life! I've already started dealing with Nicholson. It won't be long before he'll come to you voluntarily, begging to treat you!"

To his dismay, Helen became even more furious instead of feeling relieved. "You still want to deal with Dr. Nicholson?!" Cough, cough, cough, cough…

She coughed in anger, and between coughs and wheezes, she said, "You… really know… how to piss me off…"

Just then, there came a knock at the door, and Kingsley immediately entered the ward.

Upon entering, Kingsley greeted with a smile, "Oh, who managed to get you so worked up, Old Mrs. Fox?"

"Dr. Nicholson?!" Helen instantly became excited upon seeing Kingsley. "Dr. Nicholson, you've finally come!"
