The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2682

From that day forward, I no longer tried to reconcile the brothers. Neil did not contact me again either, probably because he understood that it would be hard on me. The project between Grant Corporation and Pristine Group was also proceeding in an orderly manner. Everything was back on track again.

Today, I arrived at Green Orange as usual. When I entered the office, I saw Shannon at her place. She seemed to have arrived a long time ago, but I did not hear her come up to greet me as she usually would.

Confused, I leaned forward and patted her on the shoulder. "What are you thinking about so early in the morning?"

Shannon looked at me, her eyes bags dark. I was surprised. Sensing that something was off, I hurriedly asked, "What happened?"

She did not answer me and just fished out a certificate from her bag.

"A divorce certificate? You and Jordan got a divorce?!"

I shouted in disbelief. Shannon merely nodded at me. "Yes. We're divorced."

"Why so sudden? Did he cheat?"

Shannon shook her head, smiling lightly. "No. We split amicably. Nobody betrayed anybody."

I sat down and looked at Shannon's haggard and unsmiling face, feeling my heart ache. "Just what in the world happened?"

"Our feelings probably just died. He didn't like me in the first place. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part. He probably just married me back then to complete his task."

Shannon sniffled when she got to this point. She wiped away the tear stains with her hand and continued, "I thought I had convinced him to love me after so long, but I was too naive. Forget it, it doesn't matter. The next one will be better." Even though she was saying all these terrible things, I knew she was just trying to cover up.

This incident was beyond my expectation and for a moment, I did not know how to comfort her.

"What about the child?"

"He'll come with me. Jordan will pay child support and visit him regularly. After we got the divorce, I moved out of his place overnight and went back to my home." Shannon looked up at me.

There were tears in her eyes as my heart hurt for her. When I hugged her, I could feel her crying on my shoulder. My tears started falling with her.

I was unaware of how long had passed when Marius came in. Yet, Shannon did not leave my arms.

Marius frowned when he saw how

looked at the divorce certificate on the table. His eyes instantly lit up. "Sis Wan, you got divorced?"

I waved my hand and directed my gaze at Shannon.

It suddenly clicked for Marius. "It'll be fine, Shannon. You're so beautiful and your family is rich. You can get any type of person. If you guys. separated, that just means you're not a fit for each other. You can always find the right one."

"Alright, Marius. Let's stop bothering Shannon for now. Let's go out and talk." I dragged Marius out of the office while turning back to look at Shannon. "Shannon, you should rest here."Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

I brought Marius to the conference room, my heart a mess. "I really didn't expect Shannon and Jordan to divorce."

"Man proposes, God disposes. You shouldn't worry about her. Everyone has their own difficulties."

Marius' words were so earnest, but I registered none of them. "Maybe I can ask Jordan what's going on."

"My dear sister, please don't meddle. We still have a lot of things to do."

"What's the matter?"
