Chapter 18

I unlock the door and enter inside, throwing my bag on the couch. The whole apartment is quiet and

dark. We got out in the afternoon and now it's eight pm. Opening the door of my bedroom, I switch on

the light and enter my closet. I take a white crop top which has a red colored heart in the middle and

denim shorts and place them on my bed before getting into the washroom.

I take a quick shower and come out changed into that top and shorts. I'm not feeling like drying my hair

now. So I just comb it and let it flow down on my back.

Reaching the kitchen, I decorate the table with the food I brought from the restaurant. They are not

coming home tonight I guess. I don't mind though. They waited so long for this moment and finally it's

here. But I am grateful, I remembered to take out my dinner before coming home. Otherwise, I would

have to spend the night eating ice cream.

Yes, I love ice cream but as a dinner, only ice cream is not a good choice.

After I am done with my dinner, I wash the dishes and head to the living room. It's going to be a girly

night I guess.

I turn on the TV and see 'Frozen' going on. Letting out a happy squeal, I take my small blanket from my

bedroom and lie down on the couch, hiding under it.

Don't judge. Yes, I love disney and Frozen is my favorite.

I was so tired after working the whole day and after watching the movie for some time, I feel my eyes

getting heavier. Making me comfortable, I push the blanket over my face and give into sleep.

I slowly open my eyes and get up to see the blanket lying on the floor and the remote five feet away

from the couch. But I remember when I went to sleep, it was beside my leg. Definitely I kicked it

between sleep.

What time is it?

I stare at the big wall clock hanging straight up on the wall and see it's saying 11:45. OMG! Who is

there at this late night? Nick and Leah aren't supposed to come home tonight, then?

I rub my eyes and fix my hair, standing up. The only source in the room is the wavering lights of the TV.

When I watch TV at night, I always switch the lights off. It became a habit now. The movie has already

ended and now the ads are going on.

I walk towards the door slowly, a bit tensed thinking who can come here at this time. Turning the

doorknob, I open the door slowly and stick my head out.

It feels like the ground beneath me has been torn apart as I feel my heart starts jumping inside me. I

blink several times thinking maybe what I am watching is wrong but it remains the same. The person in

front of me remains the same as those piercing brown eyes bore into mine.

"Ethan?"
