she’s really pregnant?
Somehow, Letta could only sit restlessly after being examined by the doctor handling her this time. Occasionally, Letta glanced at the man beside her who had been sitting with a calm expression, before turning her attention back to the doctor who was now in front of them.
“So, Miss Letta Leticia, how old are you?” the doctor asked, prompting Letta to answer immediately, “25 years old,” Letta replied, causing the doctor to jot it down.
“What is your husband’s name?” the doctor asked again, leaving Letta confused. The doctor then turned to Letta, diverting their gaze which had been focused solely on Letta’s information.
“What is your husband’s name?” the doctor asked again, glancing between Letta and Marco. This eventually left Letta with no choice but to admit the truth. “Actually, doc, I…” her words were cut off when Marco suddenly intervened, “Marco Jovanka, that’s her husband’s name,” Marco said, causing Letta to widen her eyes. The doctor seemed to notice Letta’s expression, but still recorded Marco’s name in his records.
“Is this your first pregnancy?” the doctor asked, prompting Marco to adjust his sitting position. “So, she’s really pregnant?” Marco asked to confirm, causing the doctor to nod, while Letta tried to close her eyes. It seemed she couldn’t escape from the man next to her who was now staring at her intently.
“Yes, your wife is indeed pregnant. And if this is your first pregnancy, it seems I should provide some explanations so you won’t be in the dark about this pregnancy,” the doctor said, leaving Letta only able to nod. After all, she really needed knowledge about this pregnancy, and the doctor’s explanations seemed like they would help. But, somehow, what initially made Letta excited because Marco was by her side might make her slightly unfocused in listening to the doctor.
“Do you experience nausea or vomiting every morning, or is there anything that makes you uncomfortable, like certain smells or anything else?” the doctor asked, prompting Letta to try to recall.
“Only occasionally do I feel nauseous, if my room is too cold, it causes nausea,” Letta said, causing the doctor to nod while continuing to jot down data about her.
“So, I suggest you maintain the warmth of your bedroom. That might slightly alleviate the morning sickness. And after my check-up, it turns out you also have a gastric condition. It would be very disturbing if you continue to experience nausea. It’s better for you to increase your meal portions with smaller amounts, but more frequently. It will help suppress your gastric flare-ups and also keep your stamina in check. Apart from this medication and vitamins, there’s nothing to worry about. The fetus is currently fine and healthy,” the doctor said, causing Letta to unconsciously smile and look towards Marco. Marco fell silent for a moment, gazing at the sweet smile of the woman beside him. Until Letta remembered the incident that happened to her.
“Then, what about the bruises on my stomach?” Letta asked again, causing the doctor to nod. “Ah yes, I forgot about that one. The bruise might be due to an impact on the corner of the table, fortunately not affecting your uterus. If it had, it might have slightly compromised the safety of your fetus,” the doctor said, causing Marco to immediately look at Letta.
“What’s going on?” Marco asked, looking at the woman’s flat stomach.
“It’s nothing,” Letta replied casually, causing Marco to immediately grab Letta’s arm. “Tell me, what happened to you?” Marco asked again, making Letta look at the doctor who was observing their movements. It seemed the doctor was starting to feel a bit uneasy about their relationship.
“I’ll tell you later, after our consultation with the doctor is over,” Letta said, her voice slightly coaxing toward Marco, prompting him to finally let out a long sigh and release his grip on her arm.
“So, how is it? Is there anything I need to worry about?” Letta asked again, causing the doctor to nod. “So far, everything is fine, and you only need to come for a check-up once a month, that is if there are no complaints. If there are any complaints, you can come back for a consultation,” the doctor said while providing a prescription, making Letta nod. Finally, they left the doctor’s office, and Marco didn’t stay still, immediately pulling Letta with all his strength to follow his long strides. Letta even had to jog a little to keep up.
“I’m a woman, I can’t keep up with your pace,” Letta said, making Marco realize their situation, which eventually slowed his pace without releasing his grip on Letta’s hand. Marco promptly pushed Letta into the car, leaving Letta unable to resist even a bit. Because Letta thought she had to explain everything to Marco. Until finally, Marco took Letta. Letta thought maybe Marco would take her to a restaurant or a place to talk, but it turned out Marco only stopped the car on a less busy side of the road.
“Say it all,” Marco said, immediately pressing Letta with his question.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“I admit that the child I’m carrying is indeed yours, but I won’t force you to take responsibility for this child. You don’t need to worry because I will take good care of this child. That’s enough, isn’t it?” Letta’s casual words made Marco look at her with an incredulous gaze.
“So, what? Do you think I’ll let you carry my own flesh and blood and just walk away? He is the heir to all the assets I will have in the future. So, how could I just let go?” Marco said with his arrogant tone, making Letta momentarily forget about the current status of the child she was carrying. Of course, this flesh and blood would become the Jovanka lineage, and Letta was slightly uncomfortable with that fact.
“You can consider it non-existent. In the future, you will also have offspring from your fiance, right? So, I don’t think you need to think too much about this because I will take full responsibility,” Letta said, making Marco once again look at her with disbelief.
How could there be a woman who rejected the future child of Marco Jovanka’s flesh and blood when out there, many women might beg for a precious night with Marco. But Letta didn’t seem interested at all, making Marco look at Letta with an incredulous gaze. Was this woman just pretending to be high and mighty in front of him, when in reality, she might be dragging out this issue, Marco thought, looking at Letta with a myriad of suspicions currently running through his mind.
