Chapter 371
Chapter 371
“I’m just giving you props.”
Aiden stood up, peeking outside through a gap in the warehouse. There was an open field stretching out, with crops in the distance.
But he couldn’t pinpoint their exact location.
Even if he knew, how should he send a message?
Soon, he saw people pacing outside. They were probably their captors.
Alex rushed to his side, asking, “Any luck? Can we make a run for it?”
“Doesn’t look too promising,” Aiden said. “We’re no match for them. Even if we did manage to escape, they’d just catch us again. If they think we’re too much trouble, they might put us under sleeping pills. We’re not holding any aces here.” NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
“So, we’re stuck here indefinitely?”
“Not necessarily.”
Suddenly, Aiden looked up. There was a big hole in the roof of the warehouse.
Alex followed his gaze. Surprised, he asked, “Aiden, you don’t expect me to climb up there and then we both make a break for it, do you?”
“No way.” Aiden shook his head. “Even if we could climb up somehow, we’d just be sitting ducks for them.”
“What’s your plan, then?”
“We could start a fire. Let the smoke billow out through the hole. People would notice something’s up with this warehouse. If my dad’s men are around, they’d find us.”
Alex chuckled and quickly nodded. “That’s a good one! But we don’t have a lighter!”
Aiden tapped his forehead lightly, “Haven’t you heard of rubbing sticks together to start a fire?”
Alex shook his head, “I haven’t.”
“Any word on Aiden and Alex?”
As soon as Sophia got home, she grabbed her husband’s hand and asked.
She had been searching all the places where Aiden and Alex could have gone to for a long time. But she found no clúes.
The kids were undoubtedly kidnapped, but there was no ransom demand.
Sophia was really worried. She feared their enemies might have kidnapped the kids for revenge.
Patrick shook his head. His face was serious and he was still in his work clothes. “No words yet. I asked some friends to help out, but still no leads.” “What do we do? What if they have been..”
“No way! Don’t jump to conclusions.” Patrick cut her off. “No one would harm kids for no reason. If it were our enemies, they would have contacted us. Most of the time, it’s about money. We need to stay calm. We’ll find them.”
Sophia nodded, sinking weakly into the couch. “They can’t be in any danger! If something happened to them, I couldn’t bear it.”
“Can you stop crying? Your sorrowful wails are really getting on my nerves.”
Sophia widened her eyes at his complaint, “I can’t cry? Do you want me dead?”
“All of this is because you insisted on separating our son and Clara. Otherwise, why would our kids run away?”
“Are you blaming me at a time like this? I did what I thought was best for this family. They are my own grandchildren. Do you think I would have done this if I knew it could lead to this?”
