Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 618

"Oh! Mr. Roman, please let go of Mr. Xavier!"

At that moment, Hera and Gemma heard Talia's voice coming from the back gardens, followed by what sounded like two people falling into the water.

Talia immediately screamed, "Help! Mr. Xavier and Mr. Roman have fallen into the water! Help!"

"Xavi!" Gemma heard the screams for help and hurried toward the back gardens. Even Hera sped up to follow her as well.

There was an artificial lake in the back gardens, and Talia was anxiously yelling for help by the lakeside. Seeing the two approaching, she quickly exclaimed, "Ms. Killian, Mr. Xavier has fallen into the lake!"

Roman and Xavier were entangled while struggling in the water. Whenever Xavier managed to get his head above the surface, Roman would pull him back underwater.

By right, the Killian residence should have security patrolling the grounds. In such a desperate situation, the security should have arrived within three minutes. No one knew why there was no sign of them today.

Meanwhile, Gemma watched anxiously from the shore. "Where's the security? Why aren't they here yet?" While speaking, she wished fervently that she could jump into the water to save Xavier.

Hera held Gemma back. They watched Xavier's struggles grow weaker, and he slowly began to sink as no one was there to rescue him. Thus, Hera put her bag down and dove into the lake.

"Ms. Youngworth!" Talia yelled fearfully. She finally sighed in relief when she noticed that Hera could swim.

Hera swam quickly toward Roman and Xavier. While Roman was still struggling, Xavier had already taken gulps of water and was sinking. Hera took a deep breath before diving downward to bring Xavier back up. She would not let him die.

The water's resistance was rather strong. It took Hera all of her strength to pull Xavier, who was taller than she was, to the surface.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Talia and Gemma were at the shore, ready to help them out of the water at any moment. Just as Hera was about to bring Xavier toward them, she suddenly felt a force dragging her back.

She turned to see Roman clutching onto Xavier's leg. He was tugging them backward while mumbling, "Save... Save me."

To those on the shore, it seemed like Roman was trying to save himself. However, Hera kicked him hard.

The sharp pain made Roman let go of Xavier, and Roman sank into the water. At that moment, Linda, who had led security over in a hurry, happened to see that.

Her gaze darkened as she pointed at Roman. "Quickly save him!"

The security hummed in response before leaping into the water.

Hera pushed Xavier toward those on shore. They struggled to pull him up, and they began to perform CPR.

Hera was about to climb on shore when she suddenly felt Roman grip her ankle and yank her hard into the water.

As it had happened all of a sudden, Hera accidentally swallowed two gulps of water. However, she was able to hold her breath in time and avoid the worst. While underwater, Hera could clearly see Roman was clutching her ankle.

She held her breath before swiftly flipping underwater like a mermaid, then she swam in Roman's

direction. Seeing her approach made Roman turn in an attempt to escape.

But Hera had no intention of letting him get away. She swam swiftly toward Roman and grabbed hold of him before dragging him toward the bottom of the lake.

Wasn't Roman pretending that he couldn't swim? Wasn't he trying to trick her on purpose? Hera planned to play along. They would see who would emerge as the winner.

Roman seemed to realize what was on Hera's mind. Terrified, he tried to free himself from her grip, but he was unable to do so.
