” I won’t want to repeat myself , Mabel. Who the fuck is Charlotte and why do you have her contact?” He thundered at her in anger.

She kept her mouth mute in silence.

“For Heaven’s sake please stop with the suspense and silence. You know how bad I hate it.” He begged her.

” Can you hand my phone over? I don’t go through your things. I respect your privacy so do so with mine.”

He was stunned to hear her, she was not rude, her voice wasn’t loud but he could tell she meant every word of hers.

This was the first time he was seeing her get so angry. He handed the phone to her immediately and she opened a conversation and handed it back to him.

He was quite scared to take it, but he dared not disobey her. He glanced through the conversation and saw it was business conversations.

“You can see it’s clearly business, she’s my business partner.” She answered in defense.

” I’m sorry for accusing you ”

“It’s fine.” She dropped the wine she was holding on the table.

A call came immediately from Charlotte and she took it, putting it in loudspeaker.

” Hello, Mabel. I’m yet to see the proposal.”

” You will get it soon. I’ve been busy with a lot of business presentations , although I sent the fashion deal to your Manager.”

” I’ve gotten the particular slide, I was hoping to get your approvals soon so we can get started.”

” Give me some time, about an hour or two. I’m in the middle of something important.” She answered, they exchanged another set of pleasantries and the call ended.

” No…Is that not Antiono’s company, Charlotte doesn’t work there.”

“I’m still concerned about Mia’s business with him, I’m sure they have a stronger chemistry. What if he’s the father of her child.”

His veins protruded immediately, he had never thought of that. Although Mia had never mentioned who Ariel’s father was, she had never said anything about being sexually molested.

” I’m not sure Ariel is Antiono’s daughter. Imy sure Charlotte would have found out if it was true.”

” So what’s their connection, why is he after Mia even when she’s a single mother?”

He kept mute and couldn’t answer, Mabel had a point.

” Going there is a bad idea. Mia already suspects you and I’m sure Antiono also suspects you.”

” Running away means I’m guilty and I have to show I’m innocent by showing up.”

” You are very unwise. Make sure you’re careful. Don’t do something that will implicate you ”

” I still don’t know how you know so much.”

” I choose to know what happens around me, just like you don’t trust me. I also don’t trust you.” She declared.

” Are we still on this issue? I apologized to you.” He tried to get mad but he knew it was his fault.

” I’m just trying to create a fact. Our relationship is injured. I have some work to do, I suggest you be on your way.”

” Are you sending me out?”

“If you think that’s it, then you’re free to act on whatever.”

He tried to protest but she brought her hand up, sge was tired of any explanation he was trying to give. After some minutes, he left with the wine untouched.

He walked out of the house, and was welcomed by the sunny weather. He put on his sun shades and decided to go to a coffee shop just to hide away from the sun. He hated the weather so much, he looked at his wrist watch. It was almost 4pm. He was relieved that soon the sun will be out.

Inside the coffee shop, he saw a lady. She looked different and was absent minded, and to summarize it all; she looked rich.

He got close to her table and politely requested to sit just opposite her. She accepted, the first thing he noticed was the fragrance of her perfume. It had the smell of coffee. The same perfume he was sure Charlotte used. He suspected she was from a rich home. The gold bracelet and watch she wore also confirmed it.

“I’m Wilson, what’s your name?” He brought out his right hand for a handshake.

” I’m Piper Alastor, nice to meet you. ” She responded, stretching out her hands to accept him.

Alastor? Surely the name sounded familiar,

He squeezed his face like he was trying to recall. She noticed it and decided to help.

” Antiono Alastor is my brother, the heir to the Alastor’s home.”

Immediately he heard Antiono’s name, he felt so angry but decided to control his feelings. The young man was ruining his day each time they met.

Suddenly, he noticed she was smiling at the direction of the door, he followed her gaze and noticed she was smiling at a man who was coming towards them.

” Aaron.” She got up to hug him.

He felt embarrassed that she was hugging another man in his presence even when they were not committed.

” Aaron, this is Wilson. I met him today. Wilson meet Antiono’s best friend and my brother.”

He was relieved when she introduced him as her brother. He was quite scared he had lost the beautiful lady but the other man looked at him with such scorn and disappointment.
