Unexpectedly Married to a Billionaire (Lorraine and Logan)

Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Lorraine suspected Logan might be her good luck charm, but she

didn’t voice it. She just thought to herself that if her luck continued to be this good, with a bountiful harvest and all the fruits getting sold at retail prices, then he was certain to be her good luck charm.

She yawned gracefully and said again, “Let’s sleep. Good night.” She fell asleep soon after turning her back to him.

Logan softly replied while facing her back, “Good night.” They didn’t speak again that night.

The next morning, Lorraine woke up at dawn. Nonetheless, the man beside her was already gone.

She muttered to herself, “Up even earlier than me. Must be a habit from being a single dad. He’s such a caring man.

“Oh, crap!” Lorraine remembered she hadn’t hung up her clothes to dry. Now, she had nothing to wear!

Frustrated by carelessness, she jumped out of bed with the intention. of hanging the clothes. Just then, Lögan entered the room with a set of new clothes–the ones she bought last night.

“Are they dry?”

“It’s hot, so they dried overnight.”

“But I didn’t hang them up last night.

Logan handed her the clothes, his dark eyes twinkling with a hint of amusement. “But I did.”

Those three words sent a warm current through Lorraine. This man’s thoughtfulness felt like a strong drink, intoxicating her. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

“I also made breakfast. The kids are eating. Once you’re ready, join us.

“Okay.”

Even though it was a flash marriage without feelings, having such a considerate husband made Lorraine’s heart swell with sweetness.

The morning was ordinary but filled with happiness.

The couple dropped the kids off at kindergarten together. Then, Lorraine drove them back to the orchards to pick fruits.

Today’s task was to fulfill Ernest Incorporated’s order. Tomorrow, they would deliver some to Moore Corporation.

After that, they would celebrate Easter, and at night, they’d attend

Lorraine’s class reunion.

While the couple was busy, the meticulously groomed Karen drove to Moore Corporation in her red Ferrari. Upon arrival, she noticed the security didn’t seem inclined to open the gate, so she had to stop and honk repeatedly.

A security guard came out of the booth. When he saw that Karen was unfamiliar and not a client, he approached her politely. “Miss, who are you here to see? Company policy requires visitors to register.”

Karen removed her black sunglasses and flicked her wavy hair before looking at the guard. Her attitude was rather mild as she said, “I’m your boss‘ personal landscape designer, Karen Stone. I want to see Mr. Moore.”

Although Karen was famous in Glendale’s construction industry, the guard didn’t know who she was. He insisted, “Ms. Stone, you have to get out of the car and register before you can enter.”

Karen hesitated, but she maintained her composure and didn’t make

things difficult for the guard. She got out and followed him to register. Only then was the gate opened for her to drive in.

However, this didn’t mean she could meet Logan right away.

She still had to pass through the receptionist and Logan’s secretary. Only if Logan agreed to see her could she take the elevator to the

68th floor.
