Chapter 34 Birthday

Hailey’s Point of View

I take a deep breath. I just sat on the sofa. They all avoid me. I’m not comfortable with what they do.

“Agatha, good morning.” I greeted her.

She just nodded and passed me.

What I hoped for a happy birthday today doesn’t seem to happen.

I put on my uniform and my bag. I sluggishly exited the dorm.

I hugged myself because it was cold here outside.

I went to the garden first. There are no students here today.

I approached the roses and inhaled the scents of them.

“These flowers are really fragrant.” I exclaimed and smiled.

“It’s good that you’re by my side today. While my friends seem to have forgotten that this day is my birthday.”

“Happy birthday to me.” I greeted myself.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

I picked up a rose when I felt like someone was behind me.

“I just found out that you’re talking to the flowers.”

I frowned and I looked behind me.

“What are you doing here, Demon?”

“Do you want me to punish you. You’re 1 minutes late to your class.”

I secretly laughed.

“Did you even know the minute I was late for class?”

“Nothing about you that I didn’t know.”

“What is it today? Why are you so sad?”

“Don’t mind me. It’s just cold in the wind so I’m like this.” I lied.

“Let’s go to your class together.” He said and he held my hand.

My cheeks were hot. Maybe I’m blushing now.

All the students we were passing by had a trace of shocked in their eyes and faces.

“Don’t look at them so you won’t be shy.”

When we were in front of the classroom, he still holding my hand.

We go inside and we sit in the chair.

I couldn’t help but think of our students’ views.

My hand was on the table while Demon still held it.

The professor continues to teach.

At the end of the class, Demon held out my hand. He approached the woman standing at the door. I rolled my eyes when the woman kissed Demon’s cheek.

I took my bag and the other door came out so he couldn’t see me. He’s a flirt.

Why am I doing this? I should be happy because he doesn’t hold my hand anymore.

“Queen, your friends are in danger!” The student shouted.

I hurriedly ran towards the students.

“Where are they?” I asked the student.

He pointed out the part of this university that I had never been to.

I no longer hesitated to go there.

When I opened the door the conffeti exploded.

“Happy Birthday!” They happily greeted me.

“I thought you forgot my birthday.” I said and tears dripped from my eyes.

“Stop crying. It’s your birthday. So you should be happy.” Kent said and wiped away my tears.

They were all wearing party hats while Kent was holding a box. Agatha is holding the cake. I no longer knew what to say or how to thank them.

I am so happy today. My heart wanted to jump for joy.

“I thought they forgot my birthday but what I didn’t know was they were preparing to surprise me.” I said in my mind.

“Happy Birthday, Queen Hailey!” Alejandra shouted while holding balloons.

“Thank you, Guys! You made my birthday more fun!” I said and hugged them one by one.

But Kent would not let me hug him.

“I don’t need your hug. I want you to kiss me.” He said and pouted.

“Don’t be shy. It’s my pleasure that the most beautiful woman of all would kiss me.”

I felt my cheek heat up.

“Fine.” I said.

I kissed Kent’s cheek and i was surprised when Kent’s soft lips touched my cheek.

“Make a wish.” Nadia suggested.

“I hope we’re always like this and full of fun.” I whispered.

Kent suddenly grabbed my hand.

“It looks like the wind changed when the bad atmosphere came.” Kent said.

“I don’t care about your opinion.” I know that voice.

Someone suddenly pulled my arm and Kent’s hand was removed from the grip on my right arm.

“I need you.” He said gently.

“Really? Didn’t you have a woman with you before and she even kissed you on the cheek? Then now you’re going to say you need me?”

“Are you jealous of her?”

“Of course not.” I said.

“Guys, I was happy with what you did but I’m leaving first.” I said and waved at them.

“If I hadn’t come I wouldn’t have known it was your birthday today.”

“What is it to you?”

“Maybe the woman is waiting for you. I’ll go back to my friends.”

He held my hand tightly.

“I want you to celebrate your birthday with me.”

He was holding a rectangular box and when he opened it the contents were a necklace. This necklace is so beautiful.

He wore the necklace around my neck.

“Nice, you’re so damn beautiful.”

He took me to the lake. There are lilies here and other kinds of flowers.

“I hope you liked my gifts to you.”

“Are you kidding? I didn’t like it.”

I could see the frustration on his face.

“Because I loved it.”

His face lit up because of what I said.

“I’m glad that you loved it.”

When it got dark all around I saw brilliant and different colors of lights.

“It’s like I’m in paradise now.” I exclaimed.

“Only you can see this paradise. I created it for you and not for others.”

He put his head on my shoulder.

“When is your birthday?” I asked him.

“I do not know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know?”

“I’ve forgotten my birthday since she died.”

I already knew who he was referring to. The woman he first loved.

“Then I want to be with you on your birthday.”

“I know you haven’t forgotten your birthday. You just don’t want to celebrate and you want to forget it.”

He looked directly to my eyes and he touched my face.
