Sheena went straight to the bedside table and opened the top drawer.
Seeing her actions, Elliot braced himself for what was to come, lowering his gaze and silently preparing to face her reprimand.
To his surprise, Sheena did not approach him after she retrieved the ruler. Instead, she stood at the head of the bed and rolled up her left sleeve, revealing her delicate, fair wrist.
Her clear, determined eyes suddenly turned fierce as she raised her right hand and swung it toward the inside of her wrist with a dull thud.
Elliot immediately looked up and noticed her self-harming act, his heart skipping a beat.
“What are you doing?”
He rushed over, snatching the thick ruler from her hand, examining her injury.
