Chapter 117 Ambiguous
Indeed, Eason was too proper of a person and a complete workaholic. Cordelia thought she might have
overthought things.
At the moment of parting, Eason told her, "Take care of yourself."
Watching Eason's car drive away, Cordelia gazed in that direction for a long time.
"Eason was truly an odd person," she thought.
Just then, Elijah walked out from the yard and stood inside the gate, looking over.
"You're still looking even though he's gone so far? Don't want to go home anymore, huh?"
His tone was somewhat cold and a bit sour.
Cordelia ignored him.
Seeing her indifferent expression, Elijah approached and assertively took her hand. "Why did you come
back so late?"
"I've been at the construction site the whole time." This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Elijah arched an eyebrow. "You are pregnant, so you should avoid going to dangerous places like the
construction site in the future."
Cordelia was speechless.
"Cordelia!" Elijah sounded a bit anxious. "I'm talking to you. What are you thinking?"
Cordelia halted her steps, coldly looking at him. "How about you just tie me to your belt?"
Elijah froze.
Cordelia pulled away from his grip, glared at him, and entered the house ahead.
After a while, Elijah finally realized what had just happened.
It turned out Cordelia was rejecting him.
Elijah stormed into the house, and with a forceful gesture, he pinned Cordelia against the wall.
"Cordelia, I was just concerned about you. What's your attitude?"
"Taking a leaf out of your book, ambiguous!" Cordelia chuckled.
Elijah's eyes darkened. He lowered his voice and said, "Seems like you're getting too proud of being
favored."
Cordelia smirked, "Isn't that because I'm carrying your baby?"
After all, Elijah had never really restrained his temper when it came to her in the past.
Elijah gritted his teeth.
The once gentle kitten seemed to be growing wilder.
"Has she become too good at disguising herself, or has she truly changed?" He thought.
Seeing Elijah remain silent for a while with his eyes flickering, Cordelia attempted to push him away but
ended up being pulled into his embrace.
"What's wrong? Can't I get jealous?" Elijah's words sounded somewhat strained, a hint of grievance in
his tone.
Cordelia couldn't see his expression right now, but when she heard his tone, she decided to soften
hers.
"You can. Go ahead and be jealous. No one's stopping you."
Elijah chuckled and lifted Cordelia in his arms. "You said it. Shall I go ahead now?"
"Hey, you..." Cordelia was furious.
"Just teasing you. I'm carrying you upstairs," Elijah laughed, bringing her to the bedroom. "Let's start
with a bath for you, and then I'll eat you up."
Cordelia glared at Elijah. "This joke is getting old, isn't it?"
Elijah gently pressed Cordelia onto the bed. "Babe, I've been missing you a lot today."
"So that's why he came home early today and waited in the yard?" Cordelia thought.
She then frowned. "Elijah, now that we have a child. So we don't have to make out any more, right?"
Elijah froze, taking a moment to process her words.
Afterward, he burst into laughter in anger.
"Is the intimacy between husband and wife only for procreation? Then why use condoms?"
Cordelia averted her face, not looking at him, muttering, "Is there even a need for that?"
"Saying one thing but meaning another. Haven't I always satisfied you? You brute." Elijah kissed the tip
of Cordelia's nose, then her rosy lips.
"Mmm... Not now," Cordelia resisted him, resolute.
"I know." Elijah buried his head in her neck and whispered, "Haven't I been enduring it as well?"
Cordelia thought about it, and indeed he had.
Lately, Elijah would sneak to the bathroom to satisfy himself after teasing her.
"Cordelia, do you ever feel a little reluctant when you divorce me?" Elijah suddenly asked.
Cordelia stiffened, and she was stunned for a moment.
