Chapter 24 Not Letting Her Go

Amber was ticked off by Liam’s behavior.

“What on earth does he want by blocking my way and not talking? Is he trying to come up with a new

way to humiliate me?” she wondered.

Amber was stunned to hear that. “Is he negotiating a new deal with me?” she wondered.

“Please don’t forget that you’re my fiancée, though only in name. Everything you do has to be

appropriate for your status.” Liam’s voice was calm, but his contempt toward Amber was palpable.

Just then, the room suddenly plunged into total darkness due to a power outage.

Human senses generally became more sensitive amidst the darkness. Therefore, Amber only realized

that Liam was still holding her wrist when the lights went out.

His grip on her wrist was not gentle at all. Still, Amber’s face couldn’t help burning with embarrassment

when she felt the warmth from his hand.

She tried to free her wrist from him, but she ended up stumbling forward and landing right on Liam’s

body.

Her forehead fell squarely on his chest. She could hear a string of rapid heartbeats, but she was not

sure who it belonged to.

Taken aback by the situation, Liam took several seconds to process it. He responded just in time to

stop himself from wrapping his arms around her body.

After some time, Amber came back to her senses and tried to shove him away.

He refused to let her go.
