WHAT BILLIONAIRES TASTE LIKE

Chapter 14 Survival

“You are too scared these days. Any ways it is a task that demands a smart ass but I’ll do something about it.” She dimmed her eyes. “I think I know of a bad bitch. What is this girl going to do if I may ask?”

“She can fall cheap for him, dwell in his heart, behave like a whore, make love to him just to know every of his plans. She is to give you feed back on daily basis. If there is anything more I want her to know I will tell you.”

He looked down to her sweating bust. “Suppose I make you scream before going to work.

“No, no, Azu.” She stood up. “No sex today. My vagina hurts from yesterday’s marathon sex. Besides, you just gave me a task. I need to think hard before I hire the wrong girl that will botch the job. Her towel dropped on the floor and she walked her naked mountains to her lingerie and wore it up. “You can bathe with me if you care.” She walked out of the room.

“I am not coming. It worsens it.”

Before going out, she left a twenty dollar note with Azuaka Jnr. for their breakfast and lunch.

On her way to the bus stop she kept thinking of the girl to hire for the job. She had been that reserved Opula at the factory. She never mingled, and making friends always got her into trouble, so she never had anybody as friend.

Who can do this job for me now? She thought, I don’t want to disappoint my man. Come to think of it, if I don’t want to disappoint him, I rather do it myself. I don’t know those girls at the factory. I will do it and keep it a secret.

Azuaka’s phone beeped and he checked it. It was a message from Nku:

The Monkeys meet on the 25th of December.

At the crack of dawn, Agu sat up and slammed his pillow on Azuaka Jnr. “Happy Xmas, Azu! Happy Xmas, son of man!!”

Mad display of fireworks were set off somewhere outside. A few children echoed, “See banger over there,” and off it fired. They yelled again and another quick fire came through. The other three neighbors reduced the yard to a noisy wreck at the blast of music from their C D players. As Agu opened the door, winter wind swirled the curtain inwards and curried stew and aroma of fried chicken and ram barbecue thickened in the air.

“Happy Xmas,” he growled and yawned and mixed feeling of frustration and happiness disturbed his heart. He wished before 25th they would be stealing from people’s accounts. His pondering over the software yielded to a fitful night’s sleep. “Oh, please, shut the door. The wind is much.”

Agu smiled mockingly “Let the merriment outside soften you up, son of man.”

“There is nothing to be merry about than the Monkey’s software. “His thoughts ticked away to his birthday.

“Just celebrate today for what it’s. We are only sacrificing our Christmas for the software. January comes our break through.”

He rubbed his eyes and yawned again. His once dark eyes reddened. “You guys may be sacrificing only your Xmas but as for me I’m sacrificing my Xmas and my birthday.”

“Heh, son of man.” Agu shook hands with him.

He forced out a smile “Why are you shaking hands with me? That on the 28th I’ll be twenty-five and a broke ass.”

Agu shrugged. “I will celebrate mine a rich boy. I will be twenty-four on the 20th of March.” As Agu spoke a lot was going on in his head, Finally, I know what Nku and Ferguson are up to with the Chinese billionaire.

He had vowed to himself never to let Azuaka Jnr. know about it. After having the appointment with the Chinese billionaire, he got to know Nku and Ferguson were giving the software to the billionaire for hundred million dollars and not actually fifty million dollars.

There was a knock on the door. They kept to themselves when the hand knocked on for the second time.

A little boy, well dressed and smiling hopefully waved the curtain aside and walked in.”Good morning, brothers. Happy Christmas! Give me money now. I am Santa Clause,” he said straight with arms wide open.

Agu stood up, “Get going. Get going, whipping boy. We’re jobless, no money. “He took him outside and shut the door. “More of them will come. Christmas is always an avenue for them to beg, all this Ghetto poor kids.”

“Can you imagine that whipping boy,” said Azuaka Jnr.

“That’s what Christmas in California looks like. It is a begging ceremony for kids.”

Azuaka Jnr. pouted his lips at what just struck in his head. “You know that kid inspires me.”

Agu rolled his eyes at him and sneezed. “How do you mean?”

“If we keep quiet and do nothing about Ferguson we may beg all our lives like that kid and manage to eat bread and pizza.”

“God forbid!” His hands waved twice across his head. “Wrong inspiration. How could you say such a thing?”

“Then prove it by acting with me. Way back on campus we knew the society didn’t have anything for us. Our future was this software. I saw the three of us in this future without any deceitful Ferguson. I believe that dude is a chameleon with the face of a fish.”

“Enough, Agu come on, Ferguson is as good as he seems. Remember he paid our bills at that moment we were losing out. “His voice had never been so reverently “I would advise you pretend to love him while we enjoy this future.”

“You’re playing a loyalist because of that thing he did? I am not surprise. But have it in mind that this future remains a jungle as long as he stays.”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Agu eyed him. “Don’t do anything stupid, Azuaka. We have invested a lot in this future. You have lost your father. Don’t do anything stupid now the harvest is ripe.”

“And the laborers are foolish,” he added. “I lost my father. Yes he committed suicide but it’s the price I must pay for the software,” he emphasized.

And Agu rewarded in his head, You murdered him, fool.

“I don’t mind having a feel of murder now I don’t mind murdering Ferguson. You can help by watching his back.” He lay in the bed. “If you come in my way I will cancel Christmas on your ass too..”

Agu glared at him and he glared back. They requite until a knock came on the door again. They kept to themselves and refused to answer the door. They could hear a feet shuffle away and another knock came on the door. “Happy Christmas, this house!” The young voice sounded and later went to another door. Fireworks clapped on.

“My babe has been trying for us. She has been keeping our ass from destitute.” He brought out the twenty dollar note. “She dropped this for breakfast and lunch.”

“She is a nice lady. The one any man can call a wife.” He wondered if Azuaka would reconsider his intention to leave her after making money. “We will eat bread and later pizza so that the money will be enough.”

“Go and buy it then. Please remember to add cigarette.”

He grinned, “If I add cigarette the money won’t be enough anymore, son of man.”

“You always know how to squeeze it in, Agu.”

Agu left…
