“Whatever it is, let’s talk it out. We’re all friends. Don’t ruin the friendship!” Calvin said, trying to mediate the situation.

Zach continued, “Hans, today is Sam’s birthday. No matter how big of an issue it is, you can bring it up another day.”

Sam wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. His gaze swept over Hansel’s furious face, and he smirked. “I meant what I said earlier, and I had made this decision after much pondering. You don’t have any right to get involved.”

With that, he turned and approached Miranda, whose face was pale and gaze was blank. Taking off his jacket, he gently draped it over her shoulders. “Are you alright? That must have been such a fright. I’ll send you home.”

Calvin’s and Zach’s eyes widened at the sight. They were so taken aback that their brains ceased to function.
