When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 246

Lemira fought with all her might to break free, running desperately forward. Spotting an open elevator door, she darted inside without a second thought.

Leaning against the elevator wall, Lemira gritted her teeth and pulled out her smartphone, unsure of whom to call.

Left with no choice, she dialed 911 while continuing her escape.

"There she is, don't let her get away."

Cornered at the end of the hallway, Lemira turned to face the two bodyguards, "I've called the cops, they'll be here any minute."

"Even if the Almighty himself showed up, it wouldn't help you."

"Listen, young lady, you're out of your depth here. Better come with us now!"

Pinned against the wall, barely able to stand, Lemira watched the guards approach.

Just then, a door nearby swung open. Without thinking, Lemira rushed inside and immediately knocked over a vase, "I can pay for the damages, but I need to get to a hospital first!"

If these guards were wary of this particular room, it meant someone of significance was inside.

Breaking something would surely attract their attention and demand compensation. She needed just a bit of time; escaping this place meant safety.

With less strength, Lemira slumped to the floor. She could barely lift her head to see the men in the room.

"Lemon, is that really you?"

Thaddeus couldn't believe his ears until he opened the door to find a girl bursting in, breaking the antique vase next to it!

Hearing a familiar voice, Lemira struggled to look up and saw Thaddeus. The next moment, someone lifted her from the broken porcelain.

Orion was both distressed and angry, "What on earth happened?"

Hearing Orion's voice, Lemira managed a weak smile, "It's you guys."

She should be safe now. Then, looking up at Orion with puppy eyes, she complained, "Someone's been bullying me!"

Orion noticed Lemira reeked of alcohol and her face was unusually flushed, instantly realizing what she must've endured.

His face turned stormy, his gaze shifting towards the door. Thaddeus immediately understood, "Don't worry, I'll handle it. Event!"Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Thoughtfully, Thaddeus ushered the rest two out as well. Their curiosity piqued, they asked, "Who's that girl?"

"Am I dreaming, or did Orion just show a tender side, actually picking up a girl?"

Thaddeus coughed, "Some questions are better left unanswered. We've got more pressing matters to handle right now." Lemira was a simple dinner out. How had things escalated to this?

Those two bodyguards, trying their luck, claimed, "We're with the hotel. The girlowes us money. She was supposed to settle it by keeping us company but then she ran off."

Thaddeus's expression turned icy at this, "Watch your mouth. You think you can slander her like that?"

Seemed like they needed to be taught a lesson.

Back in the room, Lemira clung to Orion, nuzzling into his neck.

Orion pressed her hand, "What exactly happened? Didn't I always tell you to avoid drinking when you're out?"

"Are you scolding me?" Lemira looked up at him, eyes brimming with tears, feeling wronged.

Orion immediately softened, explaining patiently, "I'm just worried about you!"

"Evelina set me up. She sprayed something on me, made me feel all hot and weak."

Orion's suspicions were confirmed after he heard Lemira's reply.

He took off his jacket to wrap Lemira in it, holding her close as they left the room.
