Chapter 663
Chapter 663
There they were, a line of trash bins along the sidewalk.
Sawyer pointed to one of them, a green one, and nodded at Mr. Francis.
Francis swallowed hard, getting the hint. He walked over to the green bin.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Someone beside him lifted the lid.
"Ah..."
The moment the lid was opened, a terrified scream from Rebecca White filled the air, followed by low sobs and desperate pleas.
"Please, don't come any closer... I'm begging you, stop, no more!"
Francis moved closer, peering down at her.
Rebecca White was curled up in a tiny ball, her clothes and face smeared with dirt, the very picture of misery.
Before hiding in there, who knows what she had encountered? Her face bore scratches, and her knuckles were scraped.
Were there more injuries elsewhere on her body?
Francis felt a pang of concern. He needed to get her out of there, fast!
He reached out his hand toward Rebecca White. "Rebecca White..."
"Ah!"
Just hearing his voice made Rebecca White scream in panic. "Stay back! Don't come any closer!"
She flailed her arms in the air as she yelled.
"Go away! Leave me alone!"
Just like that, she had scared off anyone who had come looking for her.
Francis frowned, not stepping back but instead grabbing her shoulder. "Rebecca White! Calm down!"
Her body went rigid at his touch, fear evident in her wide-open eyes.
"Rebecca White!"
Unable to bear seeing her in such a state, Francis wrapped his arm around her, pulling her into his chest.
He quickly leaned down to whisper in her ear.
"It's me, Henson! Can you recognize my voice?"
"...Henson?" Rebecca White, still half-doubting, leaned against his shoulder.
"Yes, it's me, Henson."
Francis's voice was low and gentle. "You remember my voice, don't you?"
Rebecca White nodded slowly, recognition dawning on her.
Yes, she could recognize Henson's voice.
Suddenly, she felt a wave of safety wash over her.
This man had saved her life before... he was a good person!
"I won't hurt you."
Francis spoke slowly, patiently coaxing her. "Come on, let's get you out of here. You need a shower, a change of clothes, and then we'll have a doctor check on you, kay?"
Rebecca White's rigid body began to relax slightly, though fear still lingered. Hesitantly, she nodded.
"It's a bit high."
Francis looked around, wondering how she had managed to climb in there in the first place.
After a moment's thought, he apologized, "Sorry, this might be a bit intrusive... I have to lift you out."
He gently grasped her waist, lifting her like a child, out of the bin.
"Ah."
Startled by the sudden movement, Rebecca White instinctively wrapped
her arms around Francis. As sho landed, she clung to his neck her feet on his shoes.
"It's okay now."
Francis supported her back, pressing her close, soothing her shaken nerves.
"You're safe now. No one is going to hurt you, no one can."
"...Thank you," Rebecca White muttered, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and gratitude, nestled in his embrace.
Francis managed a bitter smile. How could he bear it?
She didn't know that he was the source of all her suffering! Lifting her in his arms, Francis said, "Let's go, back home."

As he turned, he caught sight of three figures not far away, who had arrived unnoticed, standing side by side each wearing a different expression...
The most shocked among them was Sherilyn.
Even though she had her suspicions earlier, she never imagined that this melodramatic guess would turn out to be true!
