14 Chapter
Arthur
Great. If she’s trying to hurt me, she’s doing a pretty good job of it. Let her do what she wants, since I can’t get her and satisfy her. Let her rich boyfriends who want to fuck her in every position do it for me. I don’t have a girlfriend anymore. I’ll look for girls who’ll do whatever I offer them. That’s what I’m gonna do tonight. But before I do, I’m going to check on my sister and ask her never to interfere in my personal life again. My head hurts terribly, and no wonder, since I drank the whole bottle of whiskey myself. I was drunk, but I remember everything clearly.
I poured myself a glass of water from the faucet, drank it, and started dialing Emma’s number.
“Hi, Emma, how are you?” I asked when she picked up the phone.
“Hi, I’m good. But from the sound of your voice, you don’t sound good.”
“Are you home today?”
“Arthur, I’m always home. Have you forgotten that I have a young child and I’m still on maternity leave?”
“I know that, Emma. I’m coming over tonight. We need to talk. Michael’s in town from San Francisco?”
“Yes, of course he did. His pictures have been recognized as the best.”
“I’m happy for him. You’re lucky to have a husband.”
“Yeah, he just lives for pictures and shoots, sometimes I’m terribly jealous of his models, I can’t help it.”
“You shouldn’t do that, he loves you and Rudy very much, he won’t let himself cheat on you.”
“And I told you he’s opening his own studio in New York.”
“That’s great, congratulations.”
“Come on, get over here already. On the phone, all you can not tell, you can not convey all the emotions.”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
” I’ll definitely be there,” I said, and threw the phone.
I’m very happy for Michael, he’s finally managed to open his own studio. He’s thirty years old, he’s got everything – a family, a lovely wife, his own business. And to tell you the truth, I envy the hell out of him. Even though I’ve accomplished a lot and built a successful career at the age of twenty-eight, I don’t have anything in my life that would make me happy. A faithful wife and child. I didn’t demand much from Sarah, I tried to create a happy future for her and me, I spent a lot of money on our wedding, I bought her everything she wanted, I did everything she wanted for her. She made me into a whipper-snapper, but I put up with it, and I told all my friends against it, but in the end they were right. She was with me until a more favorable candidate on her horizon. And then it all stopped before it had even begun. Now I am not so hard and painful to remember it, as it was before. After all, I really loved her. I fell in love with her golden curls and eyes as blue as the ocean. She was an angel to me then, but in fact turned out to be a real devil. It was only then that I realized how deceptive appearances can be. How a person can be beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. I wonder if it’s the same with Alex. Is she a narcissist and thinks she’s the most irresistible? I’m not going to argue with that, it’s true.
She’s insanely beautiful on the outside, attractive, sexy, but does she also have a beautiful soul? What is she hiding behind her mask of indifferent bitch? What happened that she became like that? After all, at university she was a completely different person – responsive, kind. Okay, it’s not a big deal. I have a lot to do today-I want to withdraw all my money from the bank account, and I have to make sure I go to Emma’s tonight.

Alexa
I jogged down the hall and burst sharply into the office of my interviewer for the day, namely Mr. Lancaster. He was surprised to see me like this, it was all over his face.
“Forgive me, I’m terribly sorry I’m late,” I immediately began to make excuses to him.
“That’s all right. You must be Alexa Neves? Sensation magazine?”
“Yes, that’s me.”
“Good to see you. Well, let’s get started. I have a lot of important things to do today.”
“Of course,” I said, sitting down on the couch and pulling out my notebook from my bag.
“I thought you preferred to record,” he said in surprise. And I bloody well forgot about it, I just left it at home.
“There are different methods of conducting an interview, as well as recording it.
“Well, yes, you were trained in all the methods at Columbia University. And to question your professional skills, I simply have no right,” he answered me lightly and even winked at me. He’s quite a good-looking man – slim, keeping fit, because he has his own private fitness club. He wasn’t cheeky, because his eyes weren’t immediately directed at my cleavage, nor did he examine me from head to toe and lick his lips, as most other men did.
He had green eyes and dark hair and a stubble that suited him just fine. A strict gray suit that accentuates his whole image and status – the unapproachable, austere owner of a media corporation.
“Let’s begin,” he said, sitting down at his desk and folding his arms in front of him.
“I guess so,” I answered softly, and began to ask him questions.
“Mr. Lancaster, do you consider yourself a lucky man?”
“Alexa, I don’t consider myself a lucky man, I consider myself a happy man. As they say, a lucky man is lucky in and of himself.”
“You are lucky to have been born into an aristocratic family. Are you grateful to your parents, they gave you the best education and a good start to start your own business?”
“Of course, I am very grateful to them for everything. That they believed in me, that they invested a large amount of money in my project.”
“They always praised you as a child, they did not punish you?”
“They never hit me or punished me. If I did something wrong, they just threatened me, but there was never any physical abuse in our family.”
“Your project seems to have paid off?”
“More than justified. For several decades my media corporation has been one of the leading media corporations in the world. The total annual turnover of our corporation is 10 billion dollars. Advertising, publishing, television and the Internet are industries that no society can do without right now. Thanks to us, billions of people around the world create, produce, advertise and sell their products. “Lancaster’s Media. – is a success.”
” I couldn’t agree with you more,” I threw one leg over the other, trying to show him my panties. But he didn’t move an eyebrow. What an unapproachable man.
“So do you have any more questions for me, Alexa?”
“You know the most important thing most women are interested in is why you’re not married, right?”
“Yes, I get asked that question all the time. But well, I can answer it. I’m not going to say that I’m waiting for the one and only, that I have a BDSM preference, as many men do who have achieved great heights. I just feel good and relaxed on my own.”
“So how do you deal with your physical and sexual needs?”
“When I want sex, I just rent a girl. Or rather, they bring her to me from an escort agency.”
Really?! It’s not going to be as easy as I originally thought.
“I hear you.”
“Alexa, you’re a smart girl. It’s commendable that you were trying to get attention for yourself. But a woman like you doesn’t need it at all.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Alexa, I paid attention to you right away, that’s what I’m talking about.”
“I’m sorry,” she said guiltily to herself under her nose.
” I’m thirty-eight years old and seducing me that way is silly, don’t you think? But your dress is gorgeous.”
“I already apologized to you.”
“To you, I think it’s time we switched to you.”
“To you,” I said again.
“Are your questions about my love life over yet?” he asked when he got up from the table and came over to me.
“Yes. My questions are over,” I answered and started to get up from the couch.
“Good, can I ask you questions now?”
“What do you mean?” I asked, and was about to leave.
“Questions about your private life.”
“And what are you interested in my private life?”
“Probably the same things you are interested in mine.”
“I’m not married, if that’s what you mean.”
“I can tell by the fact that you don’t have a ring on your ring finger.”
“What else do you want me to say?”
“Who are you sleeping with?”
“I’m sorry, did I misunderstand you?”
” Oh, spare me that. Just answer my question.”
“Right now there’s no one.”
“You’re not in a serious relationship, I take it?” repeatedly walked right up to me and pressed me against the door.
“No.”
“What do you want from me in return if you let me fuck you tonight?”
Did he really just ask me that now?
” I don’t want anything.”
“Come on, Alex. Give it to me straight.”
” I’m a writer, or I’m trying to be.”
“I get it, you want my publishing house to release your work to the masses?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Well, it’s not much. I agree,” he said, running his hand through my hair.
“Let’s meet you tonight at the Venus Club, how do you feel about it? About nine o’clock?”
“I agree,” I answered and looked at him.
“I wish I could jump on you right now, but I won’t even kiss you. I’ll save it for dessert.”
“I’ll live up to your expectations,” I answered and opened the door and walked out of the office.
Yay! I got what I wanted. True, he was not so stupid, and figured me out, but still it did not stop me. Well, we can consider the interview a success and the ice has broken. And tonight I’m going to try to break it.
