Worship The Ground You Walk On

Chapter 11: Still Thinking About Him

Chapter 11: Still Thinking About Him

“This whole car accident drama was plotted by yourself! And you even got the guts to set Amber up!

You’ve seriously crossed the line!” ” Blair yelled.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She raised her hand and poked Claudia's head.

“Don't forget we still got your crazy mom. Behave yourself, or I’ll let you two be reunited in hell!”

Claudia experienced a sharp pang at the idea of her mother being in a nursing home. She trembled

with fear.

“Here is a warning, if you play tricks ever again, you will be dead!” Blair jabbed Claudia on her forehead

again and again.

Amber mocked, “You’re just like your crazy mom, seducing men since you were young. No wonder you

could be pregnant so soon after you were with Ben!”

Those words made Claudia’s eardrums hurt.

Her slender fingers were clenched because of anger.

“Someday when I got married to Ben, I will treat this child really… really ‘nice’ for your sake.”

Her tone was calm, yet brimmed with sarcasm.

Then she continued, “The son is obliged to pay the debts for his mother, right? I can’t wait to kill your

child as long as I think he’s your blood!”

She gritted her teeth fiercely and let the sentence out word by word.

Amber hated Claudia’s guts!

She followed Blair into the Evans Family. In fact, she had nothing to do with the Evans. That was why

he treated her without due care.

Blair interrupted her in time. “Enough, let's go!”

As they stepped out of the house and stopped at the corridor, Blair whispered to Amber, “Silly girl, why

do you have to say that? You can do whatever you want to her as long as she gives birth to the baby.”

“I can’t wait!” Amber sneered. She looked cunning.

In the ward, Claudia was trembling with uncontrollable rage.

Not only did Blair and Amber murder her father, they even poisoned her which got her mute. Now they

wanted to hurt her child!

There’s simply NO WAY she would let them win, by any chance!

In Crawford Group edifice, As Ben returned to his office after meeting, his mother called.

“I know you had no feelings for Claudia. Weren’t it for your grandmother’s will, I would never have had

you marry a mute.”

Ben's browns furrowed at those harsh words. “Mom, what’s your point?”

“Anyway, her baby is the offspring of our family. You and Hanna should keep a low profile and try not to

ruin your reputation!”

Winifred put down the stack of newspapers and magazines. Almost every front page had Ben’s gossip

on it. That was not something a meddlesome mother could tolerate.

“Also, why did you leave Claudia in the hospital? I want her back home and be there for the banquet

tomorrow night!”

Seeing that Ben was about to refuse the request, Winifred added, “Take this opportunity to dispel the

rumors about you. You know what to do, right?”

Ben hung up the phone without saying a word.

He leaned on a leather chair and loosened his tie due to anxiety. As he was about to deal with a

document, he thought of something. He quickly picked up the phone and dialed a number.

“Take her back home.”

In the hospital, Kim sat on the sofa, peeling an apple and saying, “What should we do? You know Blair.

The day when you give birth to the baby, she might bribe the doctors and make you bleed to death in

the OR!”

Claudia took a breath and cast a displeased glance at her.

Kim gave the pared apple and said, “I'm not being dramatic, but that woman… she had murdered her

husband! Not to mention that you’re just her step-daughter!”

Claudia panicked upon hearing that, for she did have seen Blair poison her father...

Amber inherited all of Blair's vicious genes, and she had been plotting for quite a while to rob Claudia’s

baby.

Claudia had to be on guard!

“What should we do? We can't fight with her just by ourselves alone. We need to find someone to help

us!” Kim suggested.

She came up with an idea immediately, “How about telling Marshall Cooper?”

Claudia raised her eyebrows in surprise when she heard the name.

“He likes you, and he has been looking for ways to cure your mute. He's so kind that he will not leave

you in the lurch!” Kim explained.

Claudia shook her head repeatedly and signed, “Absolutely not!”

Kim pouted, “Then who else would help us?”

Seeing Claudia's thoughtful gaze, Kim exclaimed, “Oh my God, are you still caring about Ben’s

feelings?”

“Like he hasn’t hurt you enough!”

The next day at the Madil Hotel, a dinner party joined by local celebrities was going on in full swing. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Countless journalists flocked and looked forward to something to happen until someone exclaimed,

“It's Mr. Crawford's ride! Here he is!”

As the onlookers looked over, a black Ferrari arrived.

Claudia held Ben's hand and got out of the car. They stood still and smiled for the journalists to take

photos.

Her slightly curly hair hung down loosely on her shoulder and she was wearing a fitted beige dress.

The excellent tailoring accentuated her exquisite curve. The lower hem swayed in the breeze, and her

bulk belly now looked quite obvious.

People saw pregnant women every day on the streets or everywhere.

But few of them could be as charming as Claudia.

Her face was like a picture on which the delicate and graceful features grew out. She gave out a quiet

and peaceful vibe, which fixed everybody’s eyes on her.

A pure and elegant aura surrounded her. Her red lips gleamed an intoxicating luster under the

flashlights.

She was a little uncomfortable facing so many flashlights. Ben held her waist naturally and said, “Tell

me if you feel uncomfortable.”

He then inclined to her ear and corrected himself, “Just write it down.”

Write...

He didn't like her using sign language. They wrote things down if they had to communicate.

That was weird.

Their interaction was captured by the paparazzi, and some of them exclaimed. They kept throwing

mean questions to Ben.

He looked aside at Claudia. The world in his eyes was deep and dark, making it hard to guess his real

feelings.

Before he supported Claudia to get into the hotel, he left one more sentence to the paparazzi, “Ex-

girlfriend? I have no idea about that. My wife is all I have now.”

Those words sounded so affectionate that all the paparazzi were moved. There was no doubt that Ben

and Claudia will occupy the front pages of all tabloids tomorrow.

His image as the best man in the world had been restored.

Claudia looked at his eyes, they were as seep and unpredictable as an ocean. For a moment, she felt

as if she had seen a trace of affection in there, so she smiled, too.
