Chapter 22 He’s Not Allowing Others to Covet Her
Ronan Vega nodded in agreement, admitting that Freya Stone had indeed piqued his interest. As for what he liked about her, he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Perhaps it was the allure of something unattainable. All he knew was that his impression of the woman who had hurt him multiple times was quite strong.
Elijah’s anger dissipated somewhat upon realizing that Ronan Vega hadn’t gained anything from Freya Stone, but upon learning that Ronan liked her, his anger flared up again – even more so than before.
“What do you like about her?” Elijah couldn’t see any redeeming qualities in the woman.
What did she have going for her besides being fickle?
“I don’t know,” Ronan replied without hesitation. “I just want to have her.”
Elijah furrowed his brow at the feeling of someone coveting something that belonged to him.
“Stay away from her!” He warned with a sharp tone.
Ronan looked confused. What was going on?
Curious, he asked, “Mr Silverton, are you interested in her too?”
Xander standing behind them also turned to look at Elijah as if there was something strange about his behavior. What did his boss think of Freya Stone?
Elijah responded seriously and coldly, “How could I be interested in a woman like that?”
Ronan shrugged and retorted, “Everyone has different tastes, Mr Silverton, you may not like her but I do. As long as she’s not married yet, I’m entitled to pursue her.”
Elijah narrowed his eyes and threw out a cold statement, “She’s already married, so forget it.”
With those words said, Elijah walked towards their car leaving Ronan with an open mouth expressionless face.
It didn’t matter though; if there were walls blocking Ronan Vega then all he needed was a good shovel to dig through them – especially since he liked Freya Stone so much.
Xander sensed something off-kilter about this whole situation; he found Elijah cared a lot about Freya Stone’s affairs.
“Mr Silverton,” Xander approached him while opening the car door for him with eyes full of curiosity and gossip fire burning brightly within them.
But Elijah realized soon enough why this mattered so much to him.
She was his wife! Therefore, no one else could touch what belonged to him. He might not love or care for her but nobody else could have what was rightfully his.
This was all about male pride.
He turned back around once more looking at where Ronan stood before saying sternly, “Don’t even think about making any moves on her again or next time we won’t be having such a polite conversation.”
Ronan remained speechless, trying hard not understand what happened here today while watching their car disappear into distance.
Wasn’t that woman the one Elijah gave to him as a gift?
Ronan licked his lips, thinking to himself. Could it be that Elijah wanted to take her for himself?
So, he was not allowed to get close to her.
Bit Ronan always got the woman he liked, without fail! He wouldn’t be so obedient.
Elijah drove away.
Xander had also left.
Ronan Vega was standing in place. He blinked his eyes and felt puzzled. When he wanted to leave, he realized that he had come in Xander’s car. Now how could he go?
“Xander!” he yelled loudly.
Xander ignored him and left alone in his car.
In the Villa.
Freya returned to the room after Elijah left. That man pinched her with a red mark on her neck.
She looked at herself in the mirror. The thought of wanting to leave quickly was getting increasingly strong. If she stayed here any longer, she would be strangled to death by him sooner or later.
She took a deep breath and went to take a shower, preparing to go to bed early. She knew that just relying on sending out resumes wouldn’t be enough, so she had to go out tomorrow and look for work. Taking off the clothes and wetting the hair, she realized that she had forgotten to bring her pajamas. Knowing that Elijah wouldn’t come into this room, SHE felt relieved and focused on taking a shower. After finishing, Freya wrapped herself in a towel and walked out.
She walked to the mirror while wiping her hair.
There was a shadow of a person in the sofa reflected in the mirror, with that cold face…
She suddenly turned around and saw Elijah. She panicked and covered her chest, “You, how did you get in my room?”
Elijah lazily leaned back on the couch, with a casual look in his eyes as he unabashedly scrutinized her. “Freya Stone, who are you trying to impress with your coquettish gestures?”
He felt frustrated when he thought about Ronan Vega saying that he liked her. It was assumed that she seduced Ronan Vega.
Freya opened her clear eyes, fluttered her curled eyelashes, trembled slightly and said calmly, “Anyway, I didn’t plan on showing it to you!”
Elijah chuckled, “So who do you want to show it to?”
His eyes fell on Freya, becoming more and more thirsty. The bath towel could only wrap her upper body, exposing her delicate neck. Water droplets dripped from the ends of her hair and slipped into the looming hook, attracting people’s imagination. The long, slender, white legs on her lower body were even more dazzling, making his mouth feel dry.
“Are you trying to seduce me with this outfit?” Elijah restrained himself and crossed his legs in a deliberate elegant manner.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
His posture became more unrestrained and his eyes more mocking. “Your waist is not thin enough, your skin is not white enough, and your boobs are not big enough. With this appearance, you can’t seduce me.”
Freya moved her lips, she really wanted to call out a stinky scoundrel! Her face was indifferent, she said, “I know you like the type of Liora Valentine. I can seduce any man, but I will never seduce you!!”
Elijah was furious and suddenly stood up. Freya realized something was wrong and immediately tried to move away, but he grabbed her wrist first with great force.
Freya felt extremely painful, as if her bones were about to be crushed by him.
“Let go of me…!”
Before she could finish her words, Elijah forcefully pulled his arm back and her body slammed into his chest. His chest was firm and hot, causing her to scream in fright. As soon as she realized what had happened, she immediately pushed him away with her hands and shouted, “What are you doing? Let go of me!”
Elijah not only did not let go, but also held onto her waist tightly, firmly securing her in his embrace. He leaned his slender body down and whispered in her ear, “Who would push their own husband away, huh?”
He deliberately dragged out a long tail sound, full of ambiguity, making the listener blush.
Freya turned her head, wanting to distance herself from him. “We’re not a real couple anyway,” she said.
“What does it take to be considered real?” His voice grew softer but clearer as he asked, “Do you want to be a real couple with me?”
Freya’s face turned red with anger, she felt like he was being unreasonable and using forceful arguments.
He clearly knew what she meant.
Why deliberately distort?
She bore the pressure of Elijah’s imposing presence, maintaining a calm facade. “I dare not. I am fully aware of my own identity and would never take a step beyond the bounds of propriety. You can trust me, Mr Silverton.”
Elijah was burning with anger. He had no idea why he was so unhappy. The more she wanted to draw a clear boundary with him, the angrier he became.
“Arrogant thing!” he pushed her away, and at the moment when he pushed Freya away, her towel loosened and fell down in an instant.
Freya felt her body go cold, and when she lowered her head, she saw that she was naked.
“Ah!”
She panicked and covered up herself…
