Your Love Is My Weapon

Chapter 342

Chapter 342

"Excuse me, everybody. I announce that my daughter's engagement with Rufus is invalid. My daughter

will not marry Rufus. Thank you for your time."

"Mr. Woody, what do you mean?" Rufus's face contorted. Just as there was a slight disturbance, he

wanted to break off the engagement. Is he afraid that it would implicate him?

"I was the one who made the hasty decision about this engagement. Actually, my daughter was

reluctant to do so. I forced her to do that. Now I want to follow my daughter's wishes."

Rufus looked at Laura, and at the same time, the guests also looked at her, expecting her answer.

Laura didn't know why her father did so. He had forced her to engage with Rufus before today, but now

he changed his mind.

Mr. Woody looked at his daughter, "Laura, you just have to tell the truth."

Laura clenched the hem of her dress tightly and nodded, "What my father said is true. I don't like

Rufus..."

"You see, I just figured out that I don't want my daughter to be unhappy. That's all." As he spoke, Mr.

Woody pulled his daughter through the crowd and left.

Everyone knew that this was a way to deny any connection with Rufus.

But this was reality!

No one was willing to do anything without benefits. It was obvious that the Gates Family had gotten into

trouble, and it was time for them to deny connection with the Gates Family.

They would cause trouble for themselves if they didn't deny connection with the Gates Family. Anyone

with a clear mind would do that immediately.

Rufus clenched his fists tightly. Everything happened so suddenly that he was caught off guard.

But no matter how angry he was, he could only hold back his anger now. He had to handle the

aftermath.

The guests left one after another, lamenting the farce of the engagement.

Fortunately, it wasn't a wedding. Otherwise, he would be more embarrassed.

Outside the door, Xavier took Cullen to the car.

"Aren't you going back together?" Cullen asked.

He wanted to go to the hospital with Xavier to pay a visit to Arya.

"I'm busy. You can go to the hospital first. I'll go back earlier." Xavier also wanted to go back to see

Arya earlier. However, it was a crucial point. He had to be vigilant.

At this moment, an angry roar came from behind, "Xavier!"

Rufus walked over quickly, his eyes bloodshot, "You did it, right?"

Xavier turned around and looked up and down at him. There was no such thing as his previous high

spirits. Xavier did not pay much attention to him, but opened the door and got into the car.

Rufus ran over to stop Xavier...

"Oh, no, Mrs. Gates fainted..." Someone ran out.

Rufus stopped and looked at the man who was running towards him, "What did you say?"

"Mrs. Gates fainted." The man repeated.

Rufus clenched his fists and followed the man back to the hotel.

Mrs. Gates had always known that her husband had done something illegal. Ever since Mr. Gates was

taken away, she had been trying to pretend to be calm and help Rufus see off the guests.

In the car, Cullen asked the Deputy to go to the hospital where Arya was hospitalized.

Cullen closed his eyes and looked a little tired. The Deputy looked at him in the rear-view mirror, "Are

you tired? Why don't you go back to have a rest and visit Miss Harrison tomorrow?"

Cullen's eyes suddenly opened. "I gotta go right now!"

He wanted to take advantage of the time he had left to stay with Arya.

Slowly, he looked out of the window, as if he had thought of something, and then his expression

changed.

Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of the hospital. The Deputy set up a pedal between the ground

and the car, pushing Cullen down.

Xavier arranged for someone to stay at Arya's place, but Xavier had informed them about the coming

of Cullen in advance, so no one dared to stop him from entering the surveillance area.

Through the not-so-long corridor, they came to the ward where Arya was staying. The deputy knocked

on the door.

When Nanny Joy came to open the door, she saw that it was Cullen. She stepped aside to make the

way for them.

"Mrs. Jones is sleeping. I will wake her up." Nanny Joy said.

Cullen waved his hand. "There is no need. I'll wait for her to wake up naturally."

Nanny Joy stood there. "Then what would you like to drink?"

"Do you have tea?" The Deputy asked.

"Yes, I'll make tea right away." Nanny Joy turned to look for tea leaves in the cupboard.

Nanny Joy made the tea and served it.

After Cullen drank two cups of tea, Arya still didn't wake up.

Nanny Joy felt strange, "Mrs. Jones would have been awake for a long time by this time. How come

she wakes up so late today?"

Cullen was calm, "It's okay. She needs to rest."

Nanny Joy nodded, but she was still a little uneasy, "I'll go take a look."

Nanny Joy pushed open the door of the ward. The curtain was still open, penetrating the faint light.

Arya was still sleeping quietly, and there was no sign of waking up.

Nanny Joy closed the door.

"Did she not sleep last night? How come she doesn't wake up now?" Nanny Joy frowned slightly.

Cullen looked at Nanny Joy, "Didn't you take care of her at night?"

"Mr. Jones is here all night," Nanny Joy said.

Cullen's lips gradually curled into a smile.

Because of Mr. Gates, Xavier was very busy these days. He thought Xavier would not have time to

take care of Arya at all.

He didn't expect ...

Seeing Xavier's affection for Arya, he was much more relieved.

If he died one day, Arya would have someone to take care of her.

At this moment, the door opened. Xavier walked in and glanced at the living room. He didn't see Arya

and then asked, "Where is she?"

"She is sleeping." Cullen said this with a kind smile on his face, "I haven't seen her yet."

Xavier took off his suit jacket while looking at the door of the room.

Her legs cramped again last night. She must have not slept well.

Nanny Joy took the coat from Xavier, "She's been asleep for almost three hours."

"Well, I'll go take a look." Xavier walked towards the room.

Arya vaguely heard the sound of the door opening. With long and curly eyelashes fluttering slightly in

her eyelids, Arya slowly opened her eyes.

"Hi." Xavier reached out and touched her cheek. Perhaps because she had just woken up, her cheek

was a little hot.

Arya closed her eyes. She had just woken up and was not used to the bright light. After a while, she

looked at the window. It seemed that the sun had not set yet, because the light was still strong, "Why

are you so early today?"

Usually, Xavier would come back after she fell asleep. Sometimes, he came back later in the latter half

of the night.

Xavier looked at her, "Grandpa is here to see you."

Arya's eyes fixed on Xavier's face and remained motionless ...Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
