Chapter 366
Chapter 366
In the quiet coffee shop, a man and a woman were sitting in the most conspicuous position.
"I think you already know my situation, don't you?" The man sat opposite Laura, wearing a blue suit. He
spoke with a sense of superiority, especially in front of Laura.
Laura's engagement to Rufus had been a joke for everyone in the circle.
Laura took a sip of coffee and felt extremely disgusted about the man's attitude.
She put down the coffee in her hand and smiled. "I really don't know about you."
The man looked gloomy. He had such a good condition, but she dared to say she didn't know him!
"Let me introduce myself first..."
"How old are you?" Laura deliberately interrupted the man when he was about to introduce himself.
The man was a little unhappy when he was interrupted. "39."
"Oh." Laura deliberately drawled. "I heard you were divorced?"
The man was furious. "Does it matter? I heard you were also betrothed."
Laura smiled. "Don't be angry. I'm only 25 this year. You're 39. I'm not the one who gets more in this
deal, right?"
The man looked up. "I have a good job."
"I know. I was indeed betrothed. It's much better than getting married before, right?"
The man frowned. "I have a good job. You won't lose if you marry me."
Laura's eyes were fixed on his bulging belly, and at this moment, she was completely speechless.
He looked wretched, and he was not modest at all. How could he feel that his conditions were great?
What was so good about him?
What was there to be proud of?
"Why? I'm young and beautiful, and I have a good family. Why should I find a middle-aged man with a
big belly and a wretched appearance?" Laura almost asked aggressively.
She was too disgusted with such a person who felt good about himself.
The man's face turned pale and then red.
"Why are you so rude?"
Laura sneered and took out a photo from her bag. This was a photo given to her by an aunt who
introduced them to meet. She handed the photo to the man. "Is this you?"
The man took a look and looked up. "Yes."
Laura resisted the urge to leave. "How tall are you?"
The man's eyes sparkled guiltily. "180."
"But from my point of view, you're only 175 at most."
When the lie was exposed in front of him, the man was enraged. "You're not tall. Why should you say
that I..."
"I'm 168 cm, 46 kilograms. I'm not lying at all. I think you should have my photo. There's a human body
measurement machine in the supermarket. If you don't believe me, we can prove it together and check
who was lying."
"Humph, I wouldn't do such a childish thing with you. To be honest, I don't like you. Look at you, your Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
body is as stuffy as eggplant, and you don't look feminine at all!"
The man shook his hand and left.
Laura was so angry that her face turned red.
"Stop right there!" Laura was also furious. "Don't you have to pay for the drinks?"
With Laura's roar, everyone looked at the man.
The man's face twisted. He whispered, "Shrew!"
"Who are you cursing?" Laura walked over and stopped the man.
"You!"
Laura pushed him over. "Say it again if you have the guts."
After being pushed in public, the man felt embarrassed and raised his hand to hit Laura. Just as his
palm was about to fall on Laura's face, someone grabbed his wrist.
The man was very annoyed being interrupted. He turned to look at the man who had caught his wrist.
"Who are you? Let me go!"
"I just can't put up with men hitting women. No elegance." Caspar shook off the man and looked at
Laura. "Let's go."
"Yeah. How can a man beat a woman?"
The people around him pointed at the man and discussed. The man felt ashamed and wanted to leave.
Laura stopped him again. "Even if you can't make it on the blind date, you can't be angry. You still have
to pay for the coffee you drank before you leave."
The man glared at Laura fiercely, took out the money from his wallet, and threw it on the table. "No
need to change."
After taking two steps, he turned to look at Laura. "Shrew, you can't get married for the rest of your life."
"Even if I can't get married, I won't marry you."
The man wanted to humiliate her, but Laura was also sharp-tongued.
After such a scene, Laura was going to leave, but when she thought of Caspar entering the private
room, she changed her seat and sat down.
Propping her chin up with both hands, she recalled how Caspar had suddenly appeared, especially
when he grabbed the man's hand in time.
Just as she was lost in thought, the door in the private room opened.
"At that time, you just have to remain silent. No matter what the other party says, you don't have to rush
to refute. Just stay calm and leave the rest to me." It was Caspar's voice.
"I'll listen to you, Caspar." A strange man said, "Then I'm leaving now."
Caspar nodded. "Call me if you need anything."
"Caspar..." Laura stood up.
Caspar turned around and was slightly surprised. "You haven't left yet."
Laura nodded. "I want to talk to you. Are you available now?"
Caspar glanced at Laura. "Go ahead."
Laura walked over. "Let's talk outside."
Caspar followed her out of the coffee shop.
The road was busy and crowded, and Laura walked to the side of the road.
"What are you going to say?" Caspar stood behind her and asked.
Laura looked at him. "I'm in a bad mood. Could you please take a walk with me?"
Caspar refused decisively. "I'm sorry. I'm busy."
Then he turned around and left.
"Caspar!" Laura caught up with him and took out the watch she had picked up from her bag. "Do you
want your watch?"
Caspar stared at the watch in her hand and his expression changed. Alice had given this to him. He
kept wearing it but he didn't know when it was gone. After searching for a long time, he couldn't find it.
"Why do you have my watch?"
"You left it in the private room that day. I forgot to give it to you last time we met."
Caspar reached out to pick it up but Laura hid it behind. "Come with me for a drink and I'll give it back
to you."
"Stop messing around. Give it to me." Caspar refused.
"Then you won't get it back. Bye." Laura took his watch and left.
She deliberately slowed down and waited for Caspar to catch up.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,...
When she counted to "ten", Caspar caught up with her...
