Brielle who was still trying to process the scene she had just witness rushed out of Shane’s office immediately. Shane was confused on what to do. She definitely saw them kissing but was she shocked? Why did she rush out?

What should he do? Rush after her or tend to his girlfriend who was still in shock.

He turned to Layla. ” Layla… ” He tried to touch but she moved away and his heart skipped a beat. He was suprised at her act. ” Layla .. ” He called in suprise.

” Brielle is back? She.. your wife.. she caught us kissing.. ” Layla stuttered in shock. Shane sighed and tried to move closer to her but she shifted backwards again. ” You knew about this didn’t you? ” Layla asked, looking up at him.

” Layla.. ”

” So, I’m right. You knew that Brielle was back and that was why you had that worried and restless look on! ” Layla shouted shocking Shane the more.

” Layla… I only found out today.. I was.. ”

” Go to her, you should go explain things to her ” Layla said, cutting him off as she also rushed out of his office.

” Arrgh! ” Shane shouted as he hit his fist at the wall. ” Gosh ” He ruffled his hair in frustration.

*** Shane’s Apartment ***

” Gosh ” Shane threw his phone away in frustration. He has been trying to place a call across to Layla but it has all proved futile. Layla refused to pick his calls.

” Why would she send you a text and then come home that same day? ” Alec asked confusingly and Shane sighed frustratedly.

” I don’t know.. okay I don’t know. All I’m bothered about now is Layla ” He said, raising his voice a bit and Alec sighed.

” So, where did Brielle rush to? Why was she suprised when she saw you kissing a girl? Was she expecting you to remain single forever? ” Alec asked with a scoff and Shane sighed.

” I don’t know and I don’t care. All I’m bothered about now is Layla, can you… ”

” Really? ” Brielle’s broken voice came out from the entrance and they turned to her.

She had visible tears on her face. ” Really? You don’t care about your wife anymore? You have another girl now? ” Brielle asked in tears as she walked over to Shane.

Shane looked away from her but she moved to his front. He looked away again but still, she changed her direction to his face again. ” Shane, you have another girl now…. You even kissed her and you…” More tears streamed out of her face.

” You don’t care about how I’m feeling at this moment, do you? I’m your wife!!! ” She yelled when Shane didn’t give a reply.

Alec stood up immediately and excused them. Shane looked at Brielle angrily. ” And what fvcking right do you have to call yourself my wife!!!? ” He shouted at her angrily that Brielle flinched.

” Shane.. ”

” You were okay ignoring the wedding contract right? And why should you care if I have another girl now!? ” He asked angrily.

” Shane I didn’t mean to ignore the contract ” Brielle said in tears and Shane scoffed. ” Oh really. Your parents and friends attended the wedding, didn’t they? They saw I had to find a replacement for you, you must be aware by then, weren’t you? Of course, you were. You ignored it, and cared less just like you had always did! You never cared about our relationship!! You left for months, no calls or texts from you!! I called you severally but you fvcking ignored it!! You went for interviews cooking up lies about a wedding you never attended and here you are, trying to act all innocent, huh? What fvcking reason do you have! Answer the damn question!!!!? ” Shane yelled angrily, as a tear dropped from his face. Brielle was also in tears as she was suddenly out of words.

This will be the very first time Shane would yell at her ever since they started dating. He must be really angry and hurt. She hugged him without thinking twice, tho Shane tried to push her away but she held on tightly. ” I’m sorry.. I really am sorry. I do have my reasons for doing that but please calm down, please.. ” She begged in tears.

Shane had no choice but to stay still as he let the tears flow down freely. He remembered how he almost went crazy when he found out Brielle had left him some days to their wedding. He couldn’t understand how he felt at that moment. It was like he was crazy and his world went void.

He let out the tears while Brielle did the same. She was hurt and felt guilty. She knows she was wrong for leaving but she couldn’t help it, she had to do it. She had to help her family.

Brielle broke the hug and stared deeply into Shane’s eyes. ” I’m sorry, I really am ” She uttered guiltily. ” Explain… Everything ” Shane muttered tiredly.

” Can we sit please? ” Brielle gestured at the couch. Shane sighed before sitting anyways and Brielle did the same.

” Dad borrowed a company a huge loan and when it was time for them to pay back as we suddenly needed the money to bag a contract, they couldn’t. We lost the contract creating a huge loss for our company and we almost went bankrupt.. and I.. I had to help, I had to do something. Shane I swear, I didn’t do that purposely. I love you so much and I.. I can’t do anything to hurt your feelings. I swear to God, I really didn’t ignore the contract purposely. I had to help, I had to do something ” She said in tears.

” You ignored our wedding ’cause of that? ” Shane suddenly asked, by now he was calm already. ” Shane… ” Brielle tried to say.

” It shows that you do not care about me!! About us!! You had never cared!! You always skipped our dates, outings, anniversaries back then for work!! It’s always been the same! You never cared!! ” He raised his voice hurtfully.

” Shane, I’m sorry. I really am. I know I might not have been the best woman but please, I would try to make amends. You can’t leave me now, please don’t.. not now that we’re married ” She muttered, holding his shirt in tears.

Shane only looked at her hurtfully, he stood up and walked away leaving Brielle alone who sobbed silently as she held her chest tightly as her heart ached her continuously.

” I’m sorry Shane. I really am ” She sobbed.

** Shane’s room **

” So, what are you going to do now? ” Alec asked Shane who had kept mute ever since he entered the room. ” Shane come on, say something ” Alec urged and he sighed.

” I don’t know what to say. I’m confused as hell. Her tears seemed real and her excuse is somehow. She’s not supposed to ignore our wedding for any reason, she was at least supposed to inform me about things but then she said her dad’s company would have went bankrupt. So it’s confusing, I don’t know what to do or say ” He muttered.

” So you’re going to forgive her and let go of Layla? ” Alec asked surprisingly. ” No, I don’t know. It’s just.. it’s gosh. Layla too is making everything more complicated and tiring. She wouldn’t even let me explain things. I don’t even understand what I did wrong ” Shane sighed.

” Come on, she was just scared. I mean, your wife caught you two kissing in your office. Any girl would feel that way and she was angry that you didn’t tell her that Brielle was around, maybe she wouldn’t have caught you two kissing. She’s also scared that she might have to let go of you since Brielle’s back ” Alec explained and Shane sighed.

” I’m tired. I don’t know what to say or think anymore. I might go crazy at this rate ” He muttered frustratedly.

” I think you’re just frustrated. Calm down and calm your nerves down. You should get some rest ” Alec said, pulling him to the bed. Shane landed his butt on the bed with an heavy sigh.

” Where’s my phone? ” He asked, as he took a glance at the bedside drawer. ” You threw it at the wall ” Alec replied.

” Oh ” He muttered with a sigh before laying slowly on the bed as his head was filled with thoughts of nothing. He didn’t know what to think anymore, he was confused and everything felt complicated.

He really needed to get some rest!
