” Layla, you’re not ” Shane finally turned to her. ” Do you really still love me or Brielle’s gotten your attention again? ” Layla asked instead.

” Then make me feel it!! ” Layla snapped again in tears. ” I don’t feel it anymore! It doesn’t look like it anymore! It’s like I’m at a losing point, it’s like I stand no chance anymore! It hurts! I might really give up at this point ” Layla yelled angrily.

” You just have to understand Layla. Just hold it in a bit, I really just don’t want to hurt her. I promise I will explain things to her ” Shane muttered and Layla let out a sad smile. She wiped her tears.

She was really hurt. She stood up and carrying her bag, she turned to leave but Shane was quick to rush over to her front.

” Okay I’m sorry. I was only.. confused and clueless on what to do. Alright, I know I promised you things and I really promise to do them but I’m still just not sure on how to do them, I swear. I really still do love you. I swear ” He said truthfully, meaning every word he said. Layla knew this but she was still hurt.

” Can I leave then? ” She asked instead and Shane sighed. He brushed his hair backwards with his hand and held Layla’s hand.

He brought her left hand closer to her face. ” This.. ” He pointed at the engagement ring on her hand. He had once told her to always put it on.

” This was the ring I inserted into your finger when we said the vows. It’s a seal to the promise I made to you and I would always keep my promises. I love you so much and it’s the truth. It’s you and only you alone. No one’s gonna take your place, I promise ” He said sincerely.

” I love you so much, I really do. I won’t repeat this if it’s not the truth. You only have to trust me and understand my actions. You should know that everything that’s taking place now is only going to end in your favor. You just have to please endure it for now. I promise you everything will be fine, I really love… ” Shane was cut off as Layla smashed her lips on his and without wasting time, he responded immediately.

Layla finally broke the kiss and they both looked at each other deep into each other’s eyes. ” You really won’t leave me right? Promise me it’s always going to be me ” She said, looking deep into his eyes like she was searching for a thing.

” I promise… I love you ” He muttered and pecked her lips.

” I really hope things turn out as planned ” Alec said and Shane nodded too with a sigh. ” Yeah, I really hope. I just don’t know what to do right now ” He muttered like he was tired. They were at a private bar.

” Come on, everything will be fine ” Alec hit him playfully. ” Yeah maybe ” He muttered.

” But Brielle still loves you, you know right? ” Alec asked and Shane nodded. ” Yeah I know and that’s making it more harder. I never thought she would still care this much ” He muttered as he sipped from the cup before him.

” And Layla.. seems she’s getting really impatient as time flies ” He added and Alec nodded. ” Yeah, of course she should. No girl can stand watching another girl suddenly take their man from them and it’s really a threat to her ’cause Brielle’s actually legally married to you and if things turn out worse, she might actually lose you for real and that’s a bother ” Alec explained and Shane nodded.

” Yeah you’re right. Maybe I really shouldn’t have made the wedding happened. I should have just cancelled it and that way, all these wouldn’t have happened and maybe I could get to be with Layla without any obstruction ” He muttered sadly as he gulped down the whole content of the cup he was holding.

” You know you might get drunk at this rate ” Alec said with a chuckle. ” I badly wants to. It should take my mind off things for now ” He muttered sadly and Alec let out a sigh before he turned to his cup an sipped out of it.

*** Shane’s Apartment ***

” Where’s he? ” Brielle asked herself for the umpteenth time. She was getting really worried. Shane isn’t back yet and it’s almost 10pm.

She dialed his number again but it was switched off, repeating the same thing it had been saying for hours now.

She almost fell as a result of she rushing out of the mansion when she heard a car drive into the compound.

” Oh gosh ” She sighed in relief when she saw Shane walked in, staggering a bit. But he looked okay and conscious of what he was doing.

” Dude you almost gave me a heart attack. Why would you go out without your guards or your driver and then with your phone switched off? ” Brielle bombarded him with questions as he walked over to her.

” Sorry ” Was all he said as he walked in leaving Brielle alone in suprise.

” Really? That’s all you’re going to say!? Huh?? Do you know how worried I was? ” She rushed to his front making him stop on his tracks.

” Brielle.. ” He called calmly.

” What?? I almost lost my mind trying to figure out where you were, I called your number but it was switched off. You made me worried and I.. ” Shane caught her off as he suddenly pulled her to himself and smashed his lips on hers roughly and she responded immediately without thinking.

It was like he was out of his mind as he kissed her roughly and in a fast pace transferring all his aggression on her lips as he kissed her aggressively. He poured out his worries as he kissed her more roughly and deeply.

Her hands crept under his shirt as she roamed her hands on his body making him pull her more closer to himself as he deepened the kiss. He grabbed her butt and squeezed them softly making her moan softly as they kissed endlessly.

** Next Morning **

Shane let out a light groan as he opened his eyes and a worrying headache hit his head. He made to stand but was prevented by a body on his chest. He looked up to see Brielle’s head sleeping peacefully on his chest, it was then yesterday’s memories flashed to his head.

How he kissed her deeply and carried her to his bed, still kissing her. How she unbuttoned his shirt and roamed her hands all over his body. How he took off her shirt and br* and how he sucked her. He stopped as his eyes almost popped out of its sockets.

” No.. no.. no tell me I didn’t do that ” He cried as he slowly removed her head from his chest and placed it gently on the bed and stood up in a rush.

He rushed into the bathroom and stood before the mirror and the scenes rushed into his head again.

” Oh my! ” He cried. ” Why would I do that? ” He bit his lips in regret and cursed himself for drinking too much. ” What if Brielle takes this to heart. What it?.. Layla.. ” He muttered in fear.

” What if Layla finds out. She would be so hurt and mad at me ” He thought as he held his chest in pain. ” My heart aches,, why would I do that to her. I betrayed her ” He muttered and was unconscious of when a tear slipped down his face.

” Gosh, I’m doomed ” He muttered in guilt and regret.

” I’m sorry Layla.. I really am ” He muttered to no one.
