Katherine’s eyes lightened up in excitement.

“Oh, my God! I’ve been hired?”

Jace stood up and strides away with his hands in his pockets.

The woman and the man rose up from their seats simultaneously.

“Congrats, miss Kelly, more deserved. I hope to continue hearing and seeing you implement your beautiful ideas.”he complimented and stepped out of the room.

“Not bad, dear.”the woman proferred her CV to her.

“Thank you very much, ma’am.”she beamed as she collected the files from her.

“Don’t thank me. Your brain did the trick for you. Work resumes tomorrow.”the woman smiled at her, warmly before leaving the room too.

Katherine stood up and giggled.

She exit the room and as she got to the grumpy woman’s desk in the lobby, she waved her CV in her face.

“I got the job, ma’am. I am now Mr Jace’s personal assistant.”

The woman rolled her eyes to the side.

“Don’t get too excited. You could get fired any moment. He has sacked about five personal assistants in the span of a week.”

“I won’t allow you jinx my mood.”Kathy sighed and trotted away.

She took a cab to her apartment.

She walked into the building and sauntered to the elevator.

She pressed the button and it slides opened.

She stepped inside and tapped the closed button.

The doors were about to shut before a hand came in between them.

Katharine frowns as the door sprawled opened.

A guy holding an empty trash can came inside.

He probably went to dispose his wastes.

“Good afternoon.”he said.

Katherine nodded rather too quickly and hit the close button again.

The elevator started to move.

She pressed the sixth button and sighed.

The guy extend his hand and hit the fourth button.

“I live on the third floor.”he muttered.

“Good grief.”Katherine snorted.

The elevator stopped on the fourth floor and the door dings opened.

He stepped out and Katherine wondered why she didn’t know about this hot dude living in the same building as her as the door closes and she saw him no more.

She tapped on the sixth button and sighed again.

What exactly Is making her do that?.

She sighed and rolled her eyes again.

She dropped off the elevator soon and walked into their apartment.

“I got the job, Jammie! Guess who is officially Jace Norman’s personal assistant!”she yelled at James who was seated Infront of the television playing a video game.

“Hmph!”he rolled his eyes.

“Just hmph?. You’re not gonna say anything?!”she frowned.

“Do you want me to cook you a congratulatory pasta or what?”James jibed.

“You should at least congratulate me!”she yelled.

“A dumb person wouldn’t have passed that interview.”she added.

“Your CV was prepared for you.”

“But my speech wasn’t!”

“Kathy, just go to your room and sleep instead of crying over something so useless like this.”he rolled his eyes.

Katherine walked to where he was and hit her bag on his head.

“Once you have that gamepad in your hands, your brain always seem to go down the drain.”she remarked and streaked off.

“You said you saw someone that looked like her last night?”Maverick repeated what Danny had just reported to him.

“Yes, boss.”

“Where is she, then?”Blade perched his brows at him, taking a drag of his cigar.

Danny’s eyes twinkled.

“We.. uhm.. the boys lost her.”he faltered.

Maverick’s jaw clenched.

“How did they lost her?”he stared at Danny, darkly.

“Boss, this was how it actually went. We were just going to take her as our girl for the night before but the guy she was with was pretty skilled and..”

Maverick released wisps of smoke in Danny’s face before chuckling.

“And, he managed to take you all down?”

“Boss.. I have never seen such man with such adept fighting skills except from you for once.”

“And the girl?”Maverick breathed out.

“She.. ran away and the boys I sent after her lost her.”Danny coughed, anxiously.

Maverick smirks before carrying his glass of whiskey and quaffed it down.

“Go bring the boys to me.”

“Huh?”

Maverick took his gun and pulled a bullet in Danny’s right leg.

“Don’t test my patience, Danny.”he uttered, roughly.

Danny suppressed a groan.

“I.. I am..”

Maverick gave him another bullet on his arm, making sure it doesn’t hit a vital point.

Danny cried out before limping out of the room.

Maverick breathed out before scoffing again.

“I will squeeze her..”he gnashed his teeth.

“I will crush her bones..”

He drew a drag of his cigarette in again.

Danny entered with the boys who had gone after Katherine the other night.

“Boss.”they bowed their heads.

“Five of you, five!”he yelled at them.

“Boss, we are sorry. She was..”one tried to apologize.

Blade shot him in his forehead.

The other’s eyes widened and watched as the guy collapsed on the floor.

“Choose your words wisely.”he said to the others.

“Boss, we will try to..”

He burst the guy’s skull with a bullet.

Three of them were left in the room.

They recoiled back in afright.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t waste my time.”Maverick uttered.

They dropped on their knees.

“Boss, we realized too late that she was the girl yo..”

Blade pumped a bullet in the guy’s chest.

Danny has melted like an ice does on the spot he was standing.

It has been long since Maverick kills his men.

That girl must have really triggered the wolf in him that got him roaring like a lion.

She should only wish not to get caught by him because if she does, she would experience hell at high level.

She has to be caught, for sure, though!

Maverick jeered and spinned the gun on his finger.

“We would surely find traces of them.”the guy pressed on.

“See to that.”Maverick sipped out of his drink, his eyes turning red.
