“How is she dead?, She just left here minutes ago”, a policeman asked rhetorically.

They managed to chase down Lydia but found her by the roadside dead.

Lydia wanted to end the life of Andre’s and her life too, so she ate some of the poisoned snack she had made for Andre.

Two weeks later,

“He has not come for you yet”, Roberts said.

“Yeah, worried about that also”, Vanessa answered.

They are surprised Andre had not showed up. The news of his death had not gotten to them.

“I want to ask you something?”, Vanessa said to Roberts. They were having lunch at the park.

“Yes sure”, Roberts answered hurriedly filling his mouth with a bite of tacos. He gulped down some apple juice too.

“Are you really sure you are going to make me and this child live happy lives?”, she asked.

“I promised , I swore , and I gave my word. I would not disappoint you”, Roberts answered.

Vanessa released a sigh of relief. She was only sixteen weeks and three days pregnant. It was Andre’s child of course.

Trey and Selma were out of town with their unborn child. Selma was twenty five weeks and six days pregnant. Selma had always wanted to have her children in Canada and not in the United States of America. She was carrying two children.

“How well do you think Roberts is good for your sister, Vanessa?” Selma asked Trey.

“Well, he seems to be a good man, patient, caring and she looks happy with him”, Trey answered.

“He is finally her Romeo, not like the bastard Miles. I would have still preferred Asher for her.” , He added.

“Yes, Asher was the best of them all.” Selma replied.

Roberts is actually Andre’s step brother.

This is actually not known to Andre, his mother or even the father himself.

Roberts knew this when he was twelve years old. His mother told him the truth about his father and how he was born.

Roberts was born in a small community in Rome, Italy. His mother, Louisa was a maid in Andre’s father’s house also in Rome.

Andre’s father, Micah always wanted everything good and luxurious. Micah had an obsession with women, he could not get his eyes off them. Andre’s mother went to visit her own mother, then left her husband at home with the maid and three security guards. Micah was so attracted to his maid, he wanted to lay in bed with her. He offered to pay Roberts’ mother Louisa, one hundred and twenty five thousand pounds if she would lay in bed with him. It was multiples of the income she earned monthly. This did not make her flinch a bit, Louisa rejected the offer immediately.

He doubled the offer, she rejected still. It got him more interested in her, so he tripled it. To her he was going to offer her the huge sum of money, but Micah had other plans.

She agreed to the tripled price, they had sex. It was more of a marathon sex. Micah had the stamina of two oxen and the inches of a horse. He was a man of pleasure and pain. He made it look like he was really going to make her work for that huge some of money. It was not protected, so that was how Roberts was born .

Despite the rough sex, Micah had his guards throw and chased out Louisa from his house without giving her a dime from his money.

Roberts was in danger. He was known as Micah’s son. Andre was the one wanted by Mr. Lorenzo and another Italian mafia, Mr. Buffon.

Buffon and Lorenzo were both seeking revenge for their son’s death, but their investigations only showed that it was the child of Micah Federico that was responsible.

After few weeks of investigation, it was only Lorenzo that found out that his son’s killer was Andre Federico who was dead in prison. Buffon’s investigators were not thorough with their search, they only found Roberts as the only son of Micah’s.

Andre killed Buffon’s son at the Casino, after Buffon’s son spoke ill of his girlfriend, Lydia. They have always hated each other since Lydia was his coursemate in college. Lydia never liked Owen(Buffon’s Son) because he was mean and a bully to girls. He disrespected their gender, ever since his mum cheated on his dad. Owen shot his mum and her new man though.

Vanessa spent a lot of nice time with her endangered man, Roberts, but memories of the past would not stop coming to her.

“Hey, what has got you thinking?, You have been silent since we got here”, Roberts asked Vanessa.

She was looking pretty unconscious and it was like she never heard him talking, he then tapped her twice.

“Sorry, sorry. I have just been weak, that is why I am like this”, she answered.

“Oh my, should I get you to the hospital?” Roberts asked.

“No, I am fine I just need water” she said picking up the bottle beside her tire gulp down some water.

Roberts was a little worried, so he decided to not let his eyes off her. At some point, he really wish the child was his. He was not sure to open up about being Andre’s step brother.

Vanessa had spent nights after nights crying despite her pregnancy conditions. She was not getting any sleep.

“I really wish I had told him what was really going on with me and how i met Andre”, she said to herself thinking of her dad.

“Hey, you didn’t tell me too”, Roberts interrupted. She was loud with her thoughts so it got him concerned.

“I really wish I could start talking now, but bringing bad memories back into my present is not something i want to do now”, she answered.

“Okay fine. Please would you get some rest?”, Roberts asked politely.

“Soon i guess. Sleeping with this big belly is very difficult”, she answered.
