“Fine, now that you know everything about that woman, what are you going to do now?”

My mouth twisted in a humorless smile. I was disappointed with what I found out about Anne. I can’t blame Alli for reacting this way. I knew what she wants to hear from me. And I also knew that she meant no harm. She wanted me to stay away from Anne for my own good.

Is it right to leave her because of her past? I’m sure that if Anne has a choice she wouldn’t choose that kind of path. It was lonely and dangerous. But I couldn’t dismiss their theory about her. They have proof to prove what they are accusing about her.

I am not trying to act like a saint, it’s just that I wanted to give Anne a fair judgment.

“I honestly don’t know. I understand your point, and I know that you want me to stay away from her for my own good, but Anne is a friend. And she doesn’t do anything wrong for me to push her away.” I said calmly.

An expression of disbelief crossed Alli’s face which I already expected. “When are you going to take action? When she succeeds on her plan to win your heart and break us up?!”

She paused to lower her head then she look at me. “Oh, wait! If she succeeded in her plan to win your heart, then you don’t need to take action anymore!”

I went to her and hug her, though she was still resisting but not as strong as she did a while ago.

“Please Alli, try to understand my point. You also became friends with her. Anne is a good person. I know that her past gave us beyond shock but we also need to hear her side. Everything we do, whether good or bad has a reason. And Anne knows that she can never win my heart. You already owned my heart.” I explained to her.

She look at me intently and sighed. “Fine, if that’s your decision I’ll respect that. But I already warned you. Be careful with her, okay?”

I nodded and caresses her face before I gave her a passionate kiss which she answered back.

Handling my own business and my family business is already time-consuming. Lance was right when he said that he find it to believe that I was still able to pursue my singing career knowing how loaded my work was. It was indeed a power of love. Sounds cheesy but it’s true.

Becoming a singer was never in my plan. I have zero interest when it comes to the entertainment industry. I rarely watch television, and if I did, the sole purpose is to watch the news.

Vincent is a celebrity but I never watch any of his movies or tv drama. I only listen to the radio as a support to my cousin. She was the only family member who was interested in the entertainment industry. It was the reason why she got along well with Alli and Anne.

I will be meeting Anne today because she was going to discuss the change on my schedule since I told her to cancel all my appoint for the upcoming month. Since I will be going with Alli to the US.

I personally want to meet Noah. I want to know his intention towards my girlfriend. I was more jealous of him than Lieo. He was the one who is always with Alli for the past two years. There is even a rumor that they are secretly dating. That’s how media works. They always put meaning on everything even the simplest thing. One of the reasons why I have zero interest in it.

“Mr. Lopez, your manager Ms. Ellis is already here.” My secretary said on the intercom.

“Let her in.” I simply said.

Anne came in with her usual warm smile. I smiled at her and tell her to have a seat.

“Like what you said, I already cancel all your guesting and interview invitations though it was hard to turn all of them down. They are more eager to have you on their show since that video of the Allison band went viral.” She started my schedule report on her iPad.

“Thank you, Anne. I appreciate it, I know it was difficult on your part.” I said to her.

She smiled at me and continued with her report. “I can’t move the recording because we have a deadline for it but I manage to move your photoshoot schedule after your trip to the US.”

This is the reason why I can’t find myself firing Anne on her job. She was an efficient manager. She understood why I can’t get all the offers for me. She knew the reason why I enter int his industry. It was solely because of Alli. I wanted to be in her world to get her attention.

But then again, her issue is not something you will have to overlook. When she was done doing all the updates I ask her to stay for a while because I need to talk to her about something. As I said, it was fair to also hear her side story. I don’t discredit all the things she did in the past but as a friend, I wanted to understand her.

It was completely silent. I don’t know how to break the news to her. After a long silence, I gather my strength to tell her.

“Alli and I talked last night.” I started my speech.

I saw her face become pale and swallowed hard.

“She told me what really happen between you and Lieo. You did not resign but was fired by Lieo himself.” I said in a serious voice.

Her eyes widen and panicking. I think she already knows what’s the next thing I will say.

“Alli also revealed to me your past relationships,” I said quietly.

I shook my head. “No, it was not from Lieo. She knew that I will doubt it if the information came from Lieo.” I said.

She furrowed. “Then is it Mich? She believes that bitch?!”

It was my turn to furrow. She never had that kind of expression before. It was as if Anne turned into a new person. And why is Mich involved in this? Does Mich also know about it? Who else knew about Anne’s past? Am I the only one unaware of this issue?

“Why are you calling Mich like that? I am not that close to her but she was never a bitch. She was a decent person.” I said in a cold voice.

Since mIch was Lieo’s ex-girlfriend, she was able to bond with us. And Mich was a good and decent person. We like her for Lieo. It saddened us to hear the news that the two of them broke up.

“Decent?! It was because of her that’s why Lieo never liked me! She always badmouths me to him. I bet she still likes Lieo that’s why she was treating me like trash before!” She said a bit hysterical.

“Mich is nothing like that. Lieo and Mich always have a good relationship even after the two broke up. Their break-up is a mutual decision and a peaceful one. We always root for the two together but we respect their decision to be friends than lovers. And Mich already has someone when you met Lieo. There is no way she will badmouth you to him.” I said in defense of Mich.

I was disappointed with Anne for reacting that way. I didn’t know that she had this side on her.

“You believe that girl than me then?” She asked.

“Mich never said anything bad about you. And it was not Mich who told Alli everything about your past.” I said a bit irritated.

“Then who?!”

“It was Lance. He did a background check not you but also for Charles and Noah. He did that to protect her cousin from a possible opportunist.” I said bluntly.
