Liam shook his head. “As expected. She just let you guys judge her without defending herself.”

I was stunned by what I am hearing from Liam. I was so sure that Anne is a golddigger and he was her first victim. But Liam is saying otherwise. I don’t know anymore what to believe. Lance has strong evidence but Liam has first-hand experience with Anne.

If Liam was telling the truth, then I should be ashamed of myself for judging Anne quickly without hearing her side.

“Anne was a sweet and innocent girl when I first met her. She’s good at designing clothes. Her dream was to work as a fashion designer in Paris. But because of me, she throws that dream away.” He said while looking at me intently.

My eyes widen at his revelation. It was Anne’s side that no one knew.

Liam stood up and went to one of his office drawers and took a folder. He went back to his seat and gave me the folder. I took the folder and started to check what this folder was all about.

It’s a fashion portfolio. I check the portfolio and I was in awe of the design. The designs are all classic and elegant. These are perfect for luxury brands in Paris. I can see great potential in this work.

“What can you say about the design?” Liam asked me.

Liam smiled proudly which I find so weird. “That was Anne’s old design.”

My jaw dropped. Did I hear it right? It was Anne’s work?! Oh my gosh! She really has great potential to make it internationally!

“Why?” The only word I can utter.

I was still in shock. Why did she not pursue her dream? Why did she choose a different path?

“As I said, it was all my fault. If I was strong and smart enough, I will be able to protect her from my family.”

I looked at Liam. I can see the sincerity in him.

“Why are you saying all these to me? It seems like you are updated in all of Anne’s moves. It’s safe to assume that you know that Anne and I were not on good terms. So tell me, why are you telling all these to me?” I asked him with frankness.

He nodded at me. “I know. Anne blamed you for ruining her plans on Lieo and now she is trying to steal your boyfriend from you.”

“Exactly. So why are you telling me all these?” I asked a bit annoyed because he keeps on beating around the bush.

“Because you are the perfect ally that I need to fulfill my plan.” He said then smirked.

My heart is beating so fast. He sounded a bit creepy to me. “What plan?”

“I want Anne to redirect her plan. I want her to fulfill her dream.”

I look at his eyes and I know that he meant every word he said. I can see that he genuinely cares about Anne. I was more curious to know their past. What really happen to them that lead Anne to forget her greatest dream and ruined her life by being branded as a golddigger.

“What do you want from me?” I asked.

His plan is not bad. So I guess I can give it a shot. It will also benefit every one of us.

“I want you to do everything for Anne to get fired as Andrew’s manager.” He simply said as if it was easy to do.

“What? Do you think that’s easy?!” I said raising my voice a bit.

“I will help you with that don’t worry.” He said to assure me.

“And how will you do that?” I asked.

“By dating you?”

My eyes widen. I stood up and take my MacBook. This guy smell trouble. I should have not listened to him.

I was ready to leave when Liam stoop up from his seat and went to me to stop me. “Hey, listen first okay? I’ll explain my whole plan. You’ll like it, I promise.”

I look at him and saw the sincerity and desperation in his eyes. I sighed and put back my think on his table and sat down.

“Fine, I’ll listen to your plan,” I said feeling defeated.

He smiled at me and went back to his seat. “Thank you for giving me a chance to explain my plan.”

“I know that Anne went to your house last night to convince you to cancel this meeting.” He started his speech.

I nodded. I am not surprised to hear it from him. I have an idea that he’s following Anne for a long time now. Which made me more curious about their relationship.

“Because of what happen to Lieo, she started to get scared of you, which made her insecure. Anne felt like you can easily get what you wanted, while she needs to work hard to get it, but will still fail because of you.”

“I can tell that she was fond of Andrew. She did try to win him, but not all out because she knew that it is still you that Andrew loved. That fact made her more insecure of you.”

“And now that she found out that you are meeting me, I can tell that the reason why she was afraid for you to meet me is that, she’s scared that I might also fall in love with, which will never happen. ” He said with conviction.

I rolled my eyes. As if I was interested in him. But it also made me think of my conversation with Anne last night. Anne’s face changed when I told her that I will seduce Liam.

Why is Anne scared of Liam falling for me? Does she still have feelings for this guy?

“It’s not because she still loves me,” Liam said as if he read my mind.

“It’s all because of her pride. She can’t bear to see me falling for you. It will completely crush her self-esteem and confidence in herself.” He explained to me.

I can’t believe that I am hearing all these from him. It shows how much she knew Anne. I honestly, don’t know what to feel about it. I always see Anne as a confident woman. Hearing all these from him pains my heart. I may have issues with her, but I don’t want her to feel that way.

“Let her believe that something is going on between us. Use that opportunity to convince your boyfriend to fire her.” He said so sure of his plan.

“I don’t think that will be enough reason to fire her,” I said.

He smirked. “Believe me, Anne will act on his own to make her fired by your boyfriend.”

“And if that happened. What will you do?” I asked her.

“I will deal with her if that happens. I will help her to redirect her life. I will help her to be in her right place.” He said dreamingly.

I was in owed with all the things I am hearing from him. Anne will surely be happy to hear this from him and enough to gain her lost self-worth.

“Why are doing all these for her?” I can’t help but asked his intention.

“Because I love her and I want her to be genuinely happy.”
