“Can you not meet Liam?” She pleaded.

My forehead creased from her request. What’s with Liam? Why Anne is so affected by the fact that I will meet the guy.

“Give me a reason why do I need to follow your request.” I challenged her.

I don’t have any plan to follow her request but I may consider it if she will give me a valid reason.

Anne looks at me intently. She was trying to read my mind but I just remained poker face.

“Liam will surely ask you about me.” She said.

I frowned. “Why will he ask about you? I mean our meeting has nothing to do with you, the meeting is purely business.”

“What’s with you and him?” I asked curiously.

“It’s none of your business. Just promise me that you will cancel your meeting with him and you will never meet him again or I’ll steal Andrew from you.” She warned me.

The concern I felt for her vanished. How could I forget that this girl is different from what she was before? Now, her real intention is finally revealed. I should have recorded our conversation so I can just make Andrew listen to it.

I smirked. “You have been doing that for the past two years, and yet Andrew was still madly in love with me,” I said confidently.

She was not affected by what I said, she just gave me the same smirk I’ve given her. “I did not do any move to him yet. Believe it or not, I still value the friendship that we had for the past years that’s why I never made a move on your boyfriend.”

I must admit that my confidence crumble by what she just said. Anne smile wickedly at me as if she was able to read my mind.

I clenched my fist trying to control myself because I didn’t like the victorious look that she is giving me.

Liam asked me to sit at the chair across from him. I opened my MacBook to show my presentation. So far so good. We only talk about business. I becoming more at ease. Maybe Anne is just assuming things.

I ended my presentation and got a positive response from him. We are almost done with our meeting when he suddenly drops the bomb.

“I heard that you are in a relationship with Andrew Lopez.” He said.

My eyes widen a bit because of shock but I was able to recover from that shock and tried to be as calm as I can.

“What are you saying? Andrew and I are just friends.” I said casually.

He grins at me. “You don’t need to worry about me, I won’t spill your secret relationship.”

I remained poker face but my heart is beating so fast like it will explode any minute now.

“Loosen up Ms. Alonzo, will you? I promise, your secret is safe with me.” He said.

I think I get his deal now. Anne was right! He will surely ask me about her.

He smirked. “I think you finally get it now. How’s Anne?”

“Why are you still interested in her? You guys broke up years ago. Are you planning revenge on her?” I can’t help but ask.

He looks serious and murderous. I cleared my throat. I am scared not for myself but Anne. I don’t think she can win in this revenge.

He has so much hatred and doing nothing will never appease him.
