Chapter 964: Have You Been Tired All These Years?

When Ryan saw Ivan enter, he glanced up and asked, "Did Yanis and Zane go back?"

Ivan nodded and handed the things he brought to Ryan. "There was nothing for them to do here."

Ryan then asked, "Did you call Yanis?"

Ivan looked at Madison lying on the bed and replied, "I was afraid they would regret it."

After saying that, Ivan sat down on a nearby stool and asked, "Have you been tired all these years,

being with my mom?"

Ryan looked at Ivan for a moment and then sat down by the bed. "What do you mean?" This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

"Being with my mom all these years, have you been tired?" Ivan repeated her question.

Ryan stared at Ivan for a while before finally responding, "Are you tired?"

Ivan leaned back lazily in the chair, not denying it. "Yes."

Ryan didn't say anything in response, he just reached out and gently patted Ivan's shoulder. "When

your mom is discharged, you should go back. We can talk about the future later."

Ivan glanced at Ryan's face but didn't say anything more.

Madison's sudden suicide attempt had caught everyone by surprise. Fortunately, she was found in

time, and nothing irreparable happened.

The next day, when Yanis arrived at the store, Bonnie was there too.

"Why did you come? Where's Mles?" Yanis asked as she greeted Bonnie.

Bonnie replied while busy organizing things, "Mles went with my dad. He said Grandpa wanted to see

Mles."

"Will you bring him back later?"

"No need, I think I'll give him formula milk instead," Bonnie replied.

Yanis was taken aback by Bonnie's decision. "Mles is still breastfeeding. Why are you switching to

formula milk so early?"

Bonnie finished packing her things and walked over to Yanis. She whispered, "I think you were right

when you told Haider that I should get out and take a walk. Being trapped in memories is too painful."

Bonnie paused for a moment and then continued, "By the way, do you have Dr. Wood's number? I want

to go see him later and find out if I'm really sick."

Yanis didn't expect Bonnie to suddenly want to see Dr. Wood on her own.

After a short silence, Yanis replied, "Yes, I can accompany you."

Bonnie didn't refuse. "Okay."

"Let's go in the afternoon then. Let Dr. Wood know in advance. By the way, I have an old customer

near South Hospital who asked me to bring her a few dresses. We can deliver them when we go,"

Yanis suggested.

Bonnie agreed, "Sure."

After they finished lunch at the store, they drove to South Hospital.

On the way, Yanis told Bonnie about Madison's suicide attempt last night.

Bonnie didn't seem shocked by the news. After a brief pause, she said softly, "Yanis, sometimes, just

because someone seems fine on the outside doesn't mean they don't have any issues. People often

hide things in their hearts, not letting anyone know. And when those things accumulate to a certain

point, they will explode completely."

"Aunt Madison's possessiveness over Uncle Baxter and Ivan is too much. She can't bear to let anyone

take them away from her. It's actually a sign of insecurity."

Yanis didn't interrupt Bonnie as she spoke. She listened to her words and then asked, "And what about

you?"

Bonnie was startled and turned to look at Yanis. "Me?"

"Yes, what's going on in your heart, only you know." Yanis said softly, "I hope you can be okay, because

Mles is still young. Haider, Uncle Cooke, and the Old Mr. Cooke all want you to be okay. It's okay to feel

lost and unable to get past certain things, but eventually, you have to face it. You can be sad, cry it out,

but in the end, you have to live well. That way, the people who love you and care about you will be at

ease."

After hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie chuckled, "So both you and Haider think I won't be able to handle it,

right?"

Yanis met Bonnie's gaze, "Can you handle it?"

"For Mles, I have to be strong," Bonnie replied firmly.

Hearing Bonnie's response, Yanis immediately felt relieved.

In the morning, when Bonnie mentioned wanting to see Dr. Wood, Yanis had already contacted him,

and they had scheduled the appointment for 2 o'clock in the afternoon. After delivering the dresses to

the customer near South Hospital, they headed there directly.

When they arrived at the hospital, Yanis got out of the car first. Once Bonnie joined her after parking

the car, Yanis said, "I'll take you to Dr. Wood's office first, and then I'll go check on Anika."

Bonnie nodded, "Okay, I'll find you both after I'm done."

Yanis acknowledged her response and led Bonnie to Dr. Wood's office before going to find Anika.

When Yanis reached Anika's room, there was no one inside. As Anika's condition was improving, she

had her phone with her.

Yanis called Anika.

Anika quickly picked up the call, "Yanis?"

"Aren't you in your room?"

Upon hearing Yanis' question, Anika hesitated slightly, "You're at South Hospital?"

Yanis responded, "I have something to do, so I came here and thought of visiting you."

Anika said, "I'll come right away."

"I'll wait for you downstairs. No need to come up," Yanis suggested.

Anika agreed, "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Anika turned to Iris and said, "Yanis is here. Let's go inside."

Iris agreed, stood up first, and then extended her hand to Anika.

Anika hesitated for a moment when she saw Iris's hand but eventually placed her hand in Iris's.

From a distance, Yanis saw Anika and Iris walking towards her. When they got closer, Yanis whispered,

"If I had known you were with Iris, I wouldn't have come to find you."

Anika released Iris a bit awkwardly and stepped forward to link her arm with Yanis, whispering, "Yanis,

why did you come here? Did you come alone or with my brother?"

"I came with Bonnie. She wanted to ask Dr. Wood something, so I came along with her," Yanis didn't

plan to discuss Bonnie's situation in front of Anika and Iris.

Anika nodded, "I see. Have you both had lunch? If not, let Iris treat you to lunch."

Upon hearing Anika's words, Yanis glanced at Iris's face.

Anika's matter-of-fact tone made Yanis sense something unusual in the atmosphere.

Iris responded calmly, "I'll treat you."

Yanis shook her head, "No need. We already had lunch before coming here. Didn't you both eat?"

"We ate. Iris brought lunch, and it was delicious," Anika said.
