Chapter 46 Tragedy of the Scott family
Chapter 46 Tragedy of the Scott family
“Yes, Chairman!” Camel replied hurriedly. “Will there be anything else?"
“Actually, there is one more thing. The Scott family should be punished, but don't overdo it. Get it?”
Baron said. This was the promise he had made to Tracy.
Then, Baron hung up and drove off.
Edric stepped out of the Perry Group with the barely suppressed anger in his eyes. “Baron, you little
worthless piece of crap! Who the hell do you think you are? If it weren't for framing Waldo, I would
never apologize to you!” Said Edric with a sneer.
And then someone came to his mind. He dialed the guy immediately. “Karson, I need your help!”
“You want to lift the lockdown of your places, don’t you?” It seemed that Karson had known what was
happening on the Scott family.
“Karson, since you already knew the story, I'll get straight to the point. Could you help me to get
through this crisis? As long as I win the head of the Scott family, I will cooperate with you. By that time,
the top four families in Cona will be not that big a deal for us,” said Edric quickly. He was frank to admit
his ambition to Karson.
But Karson sighed very deeply this time. “Edric, as of right now, there's not much I can do. To be
honest, I tried, but it didn't work. You messed with the wrong guy. They threw me out when I even
mentioned the Scott family.”
“What?!” Edric looked astonished. “Even you can't help me?”
It was only then that Edric realized that the Scott family was in very, very big trouble. He tried to figure
out who had the strength to do those things. Even Karson could not do anything for him.
Edric looked back at the whole story to find out the big guy. Of course, Baron wasn't on his mind.
All of the members of the Scott family gathered in the courtyard.
Edmund was sitting there, worry written on his face. Just then his phone rang.
When he picked up, a voice came from the other end of the phone, “Mr. Scott, good news! From this
day forward, all our places, apart from Royal Hotel, Scorpion Club, Scepter Club, will be unblocked!”
When Edmund hung up the phone, everyone around asked with anxious expressions, “What? What is
going on? Any good news?”
In a moment, Edmund’s serious face relaxed into a relieved smile. He nodded, “Yes, that is very good
news indeed. Edric hasn't let me down.”
“That's great. The Scott family is saved!”
“Wow! Awesome, Edric! He can do anything!”
“Oh, of course! He is the heir to the Scott family!”
The crowd cheered and heaped praise on Edric.
But unlike the others, Edmund’s face was dark with anger, because he knew Edric so well.
In fact, in those days Edmund had no choice but to declare that Edric was the heir to the Scott family.
Or else, his son, Waldo, would be killed by Edric for the family’s leadership.
Underneath the stern look of Edmund, there lay an unspeakable secret. Apart from himself, no one
knew that Edric was not his biological son. He was the result of his mother’s indiscretion.
He didn’t kill that woman and her bastard, because it concerned the whole family’s reputation and
pride.
Edmund seemed absorbed in his memories. It was at this moment that Edric came in.
“Edric, you really are the heir! We're out of this crisis, and all because of you.”
“Edric, I was grateful for all you did.”
“Edric, you’re very excellent that I believe you will create a brighter future for the Scott family.”
As soon as Edric came into the room, he became the center of attention.
He listened to these words with wonder. He didn’t do anything helpful to that at all. Why did the Scott
family’s crisis be averted?”
Edric managed to hide his confusion and donned a look of humility. “Oh, thanks. As our family’s heir, I
should do that.”
Edmund walked toward him, patting Edric on the shoulder. “Well done! I'll leave the whole family
property to you when I'm dead.”
Outwardly, Edmund pretended to like this son who wasn't related to him.
Edric was so flattered. “Dad, you're going to live a long life,” he hurriedly said.
“Well, I think that's enough for today. We all have stayed up all night, and now everything's fine. You all
should go home and get some rest,” Edmund said, waving them away from the room.
When everyone had left the room except Edric, Edmund asked him, “why haven't you brought Waldo
with you, Edric?”
After hearing that, a flicker of annoyance crossed the face of Edric. “He was hurt badly, so I got him to
the hospital as soon as possible after the apology to Baron,” he explained.
Edmund didn’t notice the swift change of expression in Edric’s face. “That's a relief.” He said and went
back to his room.
Edric looked at Edmund until he disappeared. “Old man, I have known everything! So don't pretend you
care about me. After I kill your only son and grandson, maybe you'll know my ability,” he said and
gnashed his teeth.
Then he picked up his phone and dialed. “It's the time! Waldo and Wallace have to die in the hospital
these days.”
Edric had to put his plan ahead of schedule because he didn't want to miss the best chance.
After hanging up, he was immersed in thought. How to carry out his brilliant plan? “It is easy to look for
a reason for Wallace’s death because he was injured badly, but for Waldo, it will be difficult,” he
murmured. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Very soon, an ingenious idea suddenly came upon him. “When both of them died, of course, somebody
should be blamed. I think I get the perfect person to be a scapegoat!”
A few days later, the Scott family dropped a bombshell. Wallace, Edmund’s only grandson, died of
repeated infection of wounds. Waldo, his father, who was so brokenhearted over the loss of his beloved
son, died on the same day after falling down a staircase.
The news soon spread all over Cona because the Scott family was so powerful.
“Baron, did you hear the news that Waldo and Wallace were both dead?” Tracy said when Baron
picked her up at the gate of Samho. She looked very somber.
“What?!” Baron was very surprised by the news. “Why do you look at me in that way? You don't think
that I arranged all of this, do you?” He asked.
“I certainly believe you, but Wallace died of repeated infection of wounds. If that's true, I’m afraid The
Scott family will give you trouble. After all, you did the wounds.” Tracy sounded worried.
“Relax, honey. They couldn’t put that on me. I know what I did. None of those wounds can kill him. So, I
don't have anything to do with his death,” said Baron soothingly.
“But even so, you can't be too careful,” Tracy reminded him.
“Don't worry. I'll be very careful. We have to pick up Lara.” Baron drove toward the Blue Sky
Kindergarten.
Tracy didn’t notice that there was a flash of anger in Baron's eyes. He wondered, ‘it seems that the
Scott family is filled with intrigue. I don't care what you guys did, but if you try to get me wrapped
around your finger, I am going to bury you.’
