Invincible Heir

Chapter 47 Tracy’s Misunderstanding

Chapter 47 Tracy’s Misunderstanding

At the moment, the courtyard of the Scott family was crowded with many people. They all came here to

pay their respect.

Edric faked tears over their death. “My dear brother! I wish you and I, together, could build a

prosperous family. But now you leave me alone! What am I supposed to do?” He wept bitterly as if he

was on good terms with Waldo.

Edmund sat motionless, grief-stricken by this tragedy. His face was grey, and his eyes looked empty,

dead.

“Edmund, I know you're out of your minds with grief. I am so sorry for your loss,” someone soothed.

Anyway, superficial or not, the family was sick with grief.

Edmund seemed to be getting back some sense of himself until the next morning. He tried to stand up,

but he staggered and almost fell.

“Be careful!” Someone rushed at him and held him upright.

“Go away!” Edmund roared. Everyone was afraid to come any closer.

He got slowly to his feet by leaning on a crutch. That sight made everyone around have so much

respect for him. Even Edric was struck dumb by Edmund’s power.

Edmund may be old, but he was still tough. He built the Scott family from scratch. No one dared to

underestimate him.

He cleared his throat and said, “I have two announcements. The first, shut down all the family

businesses for three days and all the members of the Scott family are forbidden to entertainment of any

kind during these three days.”

All were astounded to hear that. They understood his bereavement, but it was indeed a great loss to

shut down all the family businesses for three days. But none of them opposed the move at this difficult

time.

“The second one!” Edmund glanced at them and continued, “those who discuss Waldo and Wallace’s

cause of death will be kicked out of the family!”

At these words, all were extremely stunned.

“Dad, why do you say that? Wallace was gravely injured by that guy! That's why he died! I could not

stand it anymore. We should revenge!” A middle-aged woman retorted. She was Waldo’s wife and

Wallace’s mother. She had great hatred in her heart for losing two men she loved the most.

“Shut up!” Said Edmund sternly, staring at the middle-aged woman angrily. “They died from accidents.

It has nothing to do with anyone! Do you understand that?”

The woman was scared and didn’t argue back. She lost two important men and there was nobody for

her to rely on in the Scott family. She couldn’t provoke Edmund, the head of the Scott family.

“Does everyone remember the two announcements clearly?” Edmund said loudly, scanning the others.

“Yes!” They shouted in unison.

“Come with me, Edric!” Edmund said.

Edric followed him to the study in confusion.

“Edric, can you understand why I arranged like that just now?” Edmund asked calmly, staring at him.

Edric shook his head, looking bewildered. “Dad, I have planned to speak to you privately. Why do we

give up revenge?”

“We are no match for him. He could shut down or unblock our businesses in just a few hours. That's

enough to show his strength. He could defeat us very easily. If we turn against him openly, he would

never give us another chance,” said Edmund reasonably.

Edric always looked down on Baron, but he began to understand somewhat now.

“No matter how strong he is, Waldo and Wallace died because of him! We shouldn’t let him go so

easily,” Edric said grudgingly, with reddened eyes.

Edmund squinted at him thoughtfully. After a while, he said, “did you ever think that Waldo and Wallace

may be murdered by someone?”

“That was murder! Wallace died of mortal wounds. Baron’s man did it! They are responsible for their

death!” Edric said.

“My point is, maybe they were killed for someone’s benefit and Baron is nothing but a scapegoat.”

Edmund examined Edric carefully as if he was looking for any sign of evidence.

But Edric had thought about the situation and was well-prepared. He was doing a pretty good job of

hiding his expression. “What?! Dad, have you found something unusual?” Edric pretended to be

surprised, without a trace of nervousness.

Edmund could tell nothing from his face, looking faintly disappointed. “Edric, you're right. We can't let

him get away with that. You are my only living heir. As long as you could revenge for them, I will name

you as the head of the Scott family immediately.”

“So, that means, if I couldn’t revenge for them, you will not give the position to me?” Edric asked.

“You are my only son. At this point, I have no choice,” said Edmund, frowning.

“You have options because you have a daughter and a son-in-law. Maybe you could give them the

head position.” Edric said and burst into a laugh. “After all, they are blood-related. And I'm just a

bastard. To protect your incompetent son and grandson, you have to declare that I’m the heir to The

Scott family. Am I right?” Edric continued.

“You’re crazy!” Edmund said furiously, with a shocked look on his face. How did Edric know this secret?

“Not only that, but I also know your tricks. You deliberately let me revenge for them because you

desperately want me dead. You have declared that their death has nothing to do with anyone! So, once

I took revenge on Baron, if I succeed, everyone's fine. But if I fail, the entire family will be entirely

blameless except me.”

“Dad, you have sacrificed more than enough for them. Now, fortunately, they are dead. You can relax

now.” Edric continued to provoke his father.

Edmund's mouth opened wide with astonishment. “Fuck off. You son of bitch! I will never give you the

head position!” He snarled.

“Oh, finally you admit that! So you will understand if I do something evil.” Edric said defiantly.

“What do you mean?” Edmund got a bad feeling. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Just then, a middle-aged man entered.

“Edric, I have prepared a will for Mr. Scott. He has signed it. If it's okay with you, you can persuade Mr.

Scott to put his thumbprint here, and then it will take effect at once.” The middle-aged man stood

respectfully beside Edric, with a will in his hand.

It seemed that things started to get out of hand. Edmund jumped to his feet and pointed at the middle-

aged man, “w-w-what are you talking about? I never asked you to make a will, not to mention the

signature.”

The middle-aged man smiled gently, “Mr. Scott, have a look at the will, your signature is as plain as

day.” He said and waved the will before Edmund's eyes.

After getting a clear look at the paper, Edmund was in a terrible rage. “You son of a bitch. You set me

up.” As he talked, suddenly he felt a sudden sharp pain in his heart. His face became white, and then

he tried to take his heart pills from his pocket.

But Edric stepped up to him and took the medicine bottle out of his pocket. Then he threw it out the

window.

“Oh, yes. And one more thing. It's time to tell you the truth.” Edric bent down and whispered in his

father’s ear, “don’t you think it is strange about their death? You are right. I sent someone to kill them

and made it as an accident. Now you can die with them and don't worry, I will take care of your family.”

After hearing this, Edmund died, his eyes wide open and empty.

“Dad!”

“Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance right now!” Then came the cries from the study.

Three men of the Scott family died in just two days! The news shocked the entire Cona.

Edmund had declared that Edric would be the heir to the Scott family many times. Besides, there was a

will in Edric’s hand. And so, he took over the position easily.

The news spread to the Perry family soon. Henry was shocked and summoned Zoey as soon as

possible.

“Zoey, I get an important assignment for you. You have to seduce Wayne. If you marry him, with the

Owen family’s support, our family’s businesses will skyrocket,” Perry said very seriously.

Recently, Zoey and Wayne spent every day together. She was very confident that Wayne would fall in

love with her. “Grandpa, you can count on that. Wayne just promised to marry me. When he gets back

to Kato, he will set about a marriage proposal.”

“Haha, yeah, very good, very good!” Perry was ecstatic.

At his age, Perry had been through so much. The succession of deaths in the Scott family was

unusual. There must be more to it than that.

Edric and Waldo came personally to apologize, but it was not because of the status of the Perry family.

That day they got the wrong person. Because of this, Perry understood Baron was more powerful than

the entire Perry family.

When Tracy just walked out of Samho, she saw Baron was waiting by the door.

“Baron, why did you do that?” Tracy questioned as soon as she saw Baron.

Baron was confused by the words, “honey, I'm not sure what you're referring to.”

“The Scott family did do something wrong, indeed, but Yuri and I were unharmed. I can't believe you

killed three of them. How can you be so cruel?” Tracy’s cheeks grew red with great anger.

The succession of deaths in the Scott family was really astounding. It was hard not to connect this with

Baron.

Because the Scott family was a great big family, even the four families in Cona would not think it would

be easy to provoke them. Except for Baron, she had never known anyone with such power.

Baron laughed to himself. “Is that what you think of me, Tracy? A cruel murderer?”
