Chapter 42: Eyes Under The Moon

I was remembering what had happened today and I’m still confused in shock as I look at the damage

that this event did.

Students are outside the school buildings while the warriors and casters are all over the place too.

They are buzzy working continuously since unconscious bodies of students are being brought out of

the school one after one but I think that it already slowed a bit.

I was relieved when I saw that still most of the students have already evacuated before the school

turned in chaos.

Lots of students are already being treated and luckily that there were no enemies on site. That is a

relief since disaster will happen once they really did attack us.

But the casualty was high since lots of students were either got harmed since series of explosions

happen and I don't know how that ever happened since the perimeter was heavily guarded and in case

there are enemy the warrior will respond immediately.

I sigh and then turn around and glance at the person that I have carried a while ago.

I kind of admired his bravery and courage. He didn't even think twice about what is going to happen to

him and he just dived inside the smoke like it was just nothing to him.

"Doesn't he value his life or even--" I shake my head in realization that that girl was his family.

Suddenly his crying face appeared to my mind again and I was startled that it appeared in my mind and

what is more even surprising is what I am feeling today.

(I can't explain what am I really feeling. I was worried a while ago and now I can't tell what I am feeling-

- relieved I guess.... but why.... arghhhhhh...) I just shake my head and look away.

"What is happening to me?" I said while I look again at Glen and his brother was sitting beside him.

Suddenly a memory appeared in my mind making me feel déjà vu.

My family went to have a trip on the country side back then when I was little.

I really had fun. We were happy and telling stories under the night sky. Everyone was busy talking

about the experienced we had this morning since we had a competition of catching any animal in the

forest without using magic and I was the one who got nothing.

They were picking on me and I suddenly got fed up with my siblings’ words making me want to kick

their ass up.

So before I would start a fight with them I just excused myself and told them that I would go take a piss.

"Uhm... I'll just go and take a piss for a second" I said and immediately stand up and walk out of the

group who was having a bonfire.

When I was far enough, I turn around and saw that I can no longer see them

"Damn.. why does they always make my blood boil everything that I lose to something" I said in anger

while kicking a stone in the process.

"They one won because we were not using our powers. If it was a competition using our powers then

they would have already lose since I got awesome power and they don't" I pouted and smirk while

going further in the woods to try and cool myself down before I go back.

I continued to walk further and I suddenly saw a lake making me immediately smile and run to look at it.

"Wait I didn't saw this when I we came here?" I said in confusion while staring at the lake in amazement

that I was nearly bewitched by its beauty.

The sky didn't even lose to the beauty of the lake and if your look up there are lots the stars and the

moon is illuminating brightly the place. And you would think that maybe a goddess is swimming on the

lake.

I sat down on the grass and feel the scenery. The sulking and angry me a while ago has now already

calmed down and I was admiring the place that I was nearly going sleepy when suddenly I heard a

splash making me open my eyes immediately and look around the place.

"Who is there?" I said while looking around to see who did that splash and I just heard another and

another making me immediately stand up look at the lake.

"Is there someone who is taking a swim? But its already late?" I said to myself and went to find where

is the sound coming from.

I was a bit hesitant to see what is the creating that sound but curiosity got the best of me and I went to

look for it.

I was scared so I made I thought that I will make a fire ball then suddenly remembered that I would be

exposed so I brush the thought off.

I then heard that I am getting to the sound making me gulp and then slowly deep breath before I turn

and peek at the lake again.

I saw a kid maybe at the same age as me. He was swimming at the lake making me look at him in

confusion but something caught my eyes.

His eyes were bright as the color of the lake. It was color blue and the light of the moon made it even

beautiful.

I was bewitched again and not the lake this time but the color of the boy’s eye.

I was about to meet the boy when suddenly I was pulled by something from behind making me nearly

shout in shock.

"Shhhhhh.... It’s me" I heard that the voice was familiar and when I turn around it was my father who is

looking at me in worry.

I look at him and my body suddenly calms down and I sigh.

"Don't scare me like that" I pouted at him and he just laughs at me. I then suddenly remembered the

boy and so I turn to look at the lake again and I saw no one making me look confused.

"I see you found the lake" my father suddenly said and I then turn to look at him in curiosity.

"I... saw a boy swimming" I said and he looked at me in confusion before he tried to see if I was really

telling the truth.

"Boy.... a don't see anyone beside who will swim at night like this?" he said looking confused but I was

more confused.

"I really did" I argued and he smiled wickedly at me which made me gulp and look at him scared.

"Maybe you saw a ghost" he said the words that I was thinking and I suddenly jump and grip unto him

and he just laughs while I cling my dear life to him.

After that is we went back to the camp and then continued our last time with each other. But dad didn’t

bring us to the lake and when I asked him that and he said smile at me and told me to keep it a secret.

"Whatever you saw that night just keep it in yourself. Don’t tell your siblings or anyone so that they will

not see a beautiful lake like that" he said while smiling and I look at him in joy.

I was suddenly brought back to my senses when I was suddenly caught waiting beside the bed of Glen.

I was confused to why I was standing here.

I suddenly saw that Ace was looking at me. I immediate cleared my mind and manage to keep my

expression blank and we just stare at each other like trying to assess what is the other thinking about.

Suddenly came into view and we both look away the same time as he looked at Sir since he was about

to tell him something.

I just kept quiet and listen to what they are talking about with each other.

"Ace I already notified your parents about what happened and your mom is already coming. I need you

to go and get her" Sir said while I was looking at both of them who were talking about something.

"Okay" he finished and he caught me looking at them again so I look down immediately trying to see

that this floor is very interesting.

(Why am I suddenly getting nervous here?) I thought while waiting for what will happen next.

I was confused as to why am I reacting like this. This is not me?

"Can you look after him for a moment?" he suddenly said and I immediately looked at him and I was

taken a back.

(Did I hear that properly?) I thought while still looking at him in shock.

"Can you?" he said again when I didn't answer him.

(Wait.... I didn't hear it wrong) I then look at Glen to see if he was telling me to look at Glen.

When I saw that he was really serious I unconsciously nod my head in response and when I realize

what did I just did I was already too late when Ace came near me and when he put his hands on my

shoulder, I suddenly got nervous.

He gives off an aura that screams that if I do something wrong with his brother, he would kill me. It was

a warning and I can feel it.

He then let go of my shoulders and walk out making me turn around and look at him in surprise.

I then turn back and look at Sir Tanner who was looking at me.

"I still can't believe that he manages to save her without even a proper gear?" Sir said while looking at

Glen making me look at him in confusion.

"I didn't even think the he knows how to do that" he said in surprise making me got intrigued even

more.

I went close to him and look at him in surprise.

"What do you mean Sir?" I ask him and he then looks at me before looking away and getting near

Glen.

He sat down at the chair that is near him before he looked at him still leaving me confused.

"You know that there are two reasons to get out of the Smoke of the dark Abyss, right?" he started and

I just look at him trying to tell where this is going.

I tried to remember the two ways and I immediately realized it and looked at Glen in shock.

"Do you mean-- he-- but how did he manage to know it, that was a secret that they keep away from

anyone" I said in shock while looking at sir in confusion.

(How did this guy know that information. That was supposed to be a secret that we, the person who

knows it, keep it only to ourselves and we can’t let anyone know it) I thought while looking at this guy

making my curiosity about him go up.

"Then I was right what happened at the office was because of the girl. She was the one falling and

Glen went to help her" he said and sigh in frustration while I also looked at him speechless.

"I never thought that I could witness something like this since that method is a very risky one and if he

was late, they might have already both goners just like is maybe happening outside" he said and I

looked at him in shock.

"What are you--"

"Listen some kids out there won't make it even thought we had managed to pull them out of the smoke

we still can't guarantee that they are all safe. They might have been inside that smoke for too long and-

-" he said but then shut his mouth and when I was about to talk, he looked at me.

"If I ever find the person who did this, I will rip that person apart" he said seriously before standing up

and going outside but before he went out, he spoke.

"Keep them company until his brother will come" he said to went out completely.
