Jeremy did not think for too long before he came toa decision.
“We should call the cops first.”
“But the kidnappers said...”
“Linnie, I know you're worried about Ava. But at a time like this, we have to trust the police. Even if you
don't trust the police, trust me. I won't risk the safety of your best friend.” Jeremy's gentle tone
convinced Madeline.

Jeremy squeezed Madeline's hand to give her some comfort before driving directly to the police station.
After they went to the police station, they found out that Daniel had been here to lodge a report too.
Madeline and Jeremy immediately contacted Daniel. After the three met, Daniel did not seem as
foreign as when he first got amnesia. Instead, he immediately told Jeremy and Madeline what he knew.
“Ava was kidnapped, and I think it has something to do with Naya. I went to look for Naya, but she
refused to say anything.”
“Dan, why are you so sure that Naya has something to do with Ava's kidnapping?” Madeline wondered
why Daniel was so sure.
Daniel frowned and seemed very troubled. Then, he spoke.
“It seems that Naya wants to kill Ava.”
Madeline and Jeremy glanced at each other.
“Dan, do you remember what happened in the past?”
“No.” Daniel shook his head. Then, he continued, “ Naya got into an accident and is in the hospital. The
reason she got into an accident is that she deliberately caused it. She crashed into a car that’s the
same model as the car Ava drove today. It’s the same model and color.” 1
Madeline immediately understood after she heard that.
“Ava left with my car today. Did Naya think that Ava was driving the car she crashed into?”
“I think so too.” Daniel agreed with Madeline’s thoughts. Hence, that was why he was so emotional
when he went to look for Naya in the hospital just now.
“How’s the victim of the crash doing now?”
“I heard she’s still in the emergency room. She’sina critical condition.”
When Jeremy heard this, his expression changed slightly. “Naya is a lunatic. She really dares to do
anything.”
“There are really many people in this world who'll do anything to achieve their goals.” Madeline sighed
helplessly with a smile. “Jeremy, what should we do next?”
“Don't worry too much, Linnie. Daniel and I will definitely find Ava and bring her back safely.” Jeremy
promised Madeline with a gentle smile. He lowered his eyes and glanced at the time. “Linnie, you
should pick Jack up from school first. Just leave Ava’s matter tous.”
Of course, Madeline trusted Jeremy, but while she was on the way to pick Jackson up from school, her
heart still felt uneasy.
She wanted to go to the hospital to look for Naya, but she quickly dismissed the idea.
During dinner at night, Pudding kept calling out childishly. “Aunt... Va... Aunt Ava.”
During the few days Ava stayed here, she had formed avery good relationship with Pudding. Plus,
children’s feelings were so intuitive. They liked whoever was nice to them.
Madeline could only pick up her youngest son to comfort him, “Pudding, Aunt Ava will come back to
play with you tomorrow. Be a good boy and eat first.” The little boy blinked his big watery eyes and
looked at Madeline seriously.
