Chapter 749 Having Breakfast

Theresa looked at this silly boy. It was not a good thing for her to see her boys being sentimental at such a young age. They seemed to be more mature than their peers.

After putting Ben to sleep, she then helped tuck Leonard in before going back to her room. When she got to her room, she picked up her phone and planned to send a message to Charlie. However, she hesitated. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Although she had promised Ben to ask Charlie to come back home for breakfast tomorrow and she knew Charlie’d agree, she didn’t feel comfortable texting him at this time. After all, she had no intention to make up with him yet, which she preferred to keep from their sons for the time being.

And she didn’t wish Charlie to detect her worry, in case he used this to threaten her again or sneaked into her room… His recent behaviour had put her on the defensive and edgy.

Since they had already divorced, they’d better have non-interference and no communication, let alone having sex. But what about him? Did he share the same thought?

After some inner struggles, for the sake of Ben, Theresa decided to keep her promise.

[Ben misses you. If you are free tomorrow morning, come over and have breakfast with him.]

After that, she reckoned that Charlie was probably already asleep, so she didn’t expect his reply. To her surprise, he quickly replied her with an emphatic ‘Yes.

His message gave a start, making her drop the phone on the quilt. He was still awake? She then messaged him again. [Can’t sleep?]

[Yep, I just took a shower. What about you? Didn’t you say you were going to sleep earlier? Is it because of me that you remained up?]

[Humph!] Soon her message arrived.

Although she refused to admit it, she was clear that he was the cause of her insomnia. If he chose to stay at home, she’d have a good rest. But now, he acted like she was the one who forced him to leave the house in the middle of the night, of course she’d be restless.

After a while, Charlie texted her to go to bed early and told her he’d come over first thing in the morning. Holding his phone, he lay on the bed as he watched her phone avatar. The thought that they would never get back together anymore weighed him down with sorrow. Yet, just as he thought sleep would elude him tonight, she massaged him to go back home tomorrow! He knew he could sleep soundly this time. Back then, she was determined to divorce him. And he had thought that Dick was the father of the two boys, so he agreed. Now he found out that he had misunderstood, he was their real father. With their children as a tie, he still stood a chance to win her back, didn’t he? He could see that she loved their children.

Lying on the bed, Charlie soon fell asleep.

In the morning, Theresa felt a load on her mind and got up early. When she fetched herself a cup of water downstairs, she heard the car parking by the gate. Opening the door, she saw him.

The sun smouldered through a thin haze and this wind had freshened up. He got out of the car and saw her standing at the door. A smile lifted the corner of his mouth. “Waiting for me?”
