They were made out of mithril and were incredibly durable, which made them perfect for fighting members of the dark clans.

Despite being able to do a huge amount of damage to members of the dark clan, mithril was an incredibly rare metal, so mithril weapons were few in number.

The Curia only had a few of those mithril gloves in stock. Because Laura had contributed greatly to the Curia, they gave her a pair of those gloves as a reward.

Thinking she had gained the upper hand against Kaiden in their first exchange, Laura was pleased with herself.

Like an enraged beast, white fog was coming out of his nostrils as he said, "I will beat you to death, or my name isn't Kaiden!" He then lunged at Laura at lightning speed, prompting her to quickly put up her defenses as the two of them clashed once again. Laura was initially able to keep up with Kaiden's attacks, but it wasn't long before her tight defense began falling apart. Being too defensive was sure to put one at a disadvantage, and that was especially true in Laura's case.

Eventually, Kaiden saw an opening in Laura's defenses and seized that golden opportunity by delivering a vicious kick to her chest.

Laura screamed in pain as she went flying and crashed into a tree on the side of the road before hitting the asphalt.

"Cardinal Laura!"

The bishops and warriors quickly ran forward to help her up.

Whatever air of arrogance Laura had was gone as she coughed up a mouthful of blood.

However, Kaiden was not satisfied
