Chapter 165
"Where is she?"
"Mr. Gulliford, who are you talking about?"
Martin's voice was tinted with confusion.
"Jessica, where is she? Hurry and ask her over here."
Trevorwas anxious. Even his hand holdingthe phone started to tremble.
"All right, Mr. Gulliford. I'll look for her now."
Martin agreed right away. However, Trevor didn't hang up the call.
Seeing that the call was still connected, Martin was perplexed. "Mr. Gulliford, are you still there?"
Trevor didn't end the call or say anything. It was the first time Martin encountered such a situation ever since he started working for Trevor.
"Don't hang up! Look for her right now. Just tell me on the phone once you've found her."
Trevor spoke softly. There were powerlessness and
fear in his voice.
He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to know the news immediately when Martin found her.
"I got it, Mr. Gulliford."
Martin dared not say anything. With the phone in his hand, he headed to Limitless Entertainment right away.
Lying in the ward, Trevor held the phone to his ear with one hand and waited patiently.
After some time, Martin's voice rang out on the other end of the line. "Mr. Gulliford, Mrs. Gulliford has gone missing."
"Have you gone to her house?"
Trevor was overcome with emotions. "She's missing? Is it because of me?" he wondered.
"Yes. But there's no one in her house. Then, I asked the neighbor, and they told me that she suddenly moved out this afternoon. No one knows where she went." "O-Okay!" Trevor ended the call. The next second, his eyes reddened. He held the phone against his forehead. His body began trembling.
A wave of sadness instantly overcame him. The pain reminded him every second that he had lost the woman again.
"Why? His trembling voice echoed in the room.
"Didn't she promise me that she would stay by my side? Jessica, how could you go back on your words? Jessica, how could you go back on your words!"
Tears poured out of his eyes and fell on the pillow. He wanted to cry out loud but was afraid that he couldn't hear Martin's call.
"Perhaps, it's just a joke. Or she is just teasing me. Yeah, that must be it. she is just joking with me.
Martin will be able to find her soon and bring her over," he mused.
Ding!
Just then, his phone rang. Trevor's heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, he raised his head and answered the call.
It might be a call from his wife although it wasn't
Martin's contact number.
"Is it you?"
He spoke before the people from the other end of the line could say anything.
"Who are you thinking?"
Old Mr. Gulliford's voice sounded from the other end of the line. The hope that had just been kindled in his eyes instantly extinguished. "What's it, Grandpa?"
"I've asked someone to pick you up in the hospital. Just come back home since you're fine. You can stay in the Gulliford family mansion for the time being. I've brought Bennett over as well. When you are fully recovered, you can return to the Gullliford residence."
Old Mr. Gulliford spat out the words stiffly, not giving Trevor a chance to refute at all. After that, he ended the call.
Living there didn't matter to him. He could stay however long he wanted. What Trevor wanted to ask was whether Old Mr. Gulliford had done something bad to Jessica NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
In the car that was moving away from the hospital, Trevor looked at the old butler, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, and asked in a low voice, "Gabriel, what has Grandpa done to Jessica?
The car moved very slowly. Upon hearing that, Gabriel, who was in the front passenger seat, smiled and turned to look at Trevor.
"Mr. Gulliford, Old Mr. Gulliford hasn't done anything to her up to this point. I think she doesn't want to see you, so she left."
"No! She has promised me she won't leave." Trevor refused to believe what he said.
