Chapter 164
Perhaps, she shouldn't have shown up.
Jessica should have died in that car accident.
"Mr. Whiteburn, please let me work in your company.
I just want to join the business industry and slowly get back everything that belongs to the Queen family. After that, I'll leave Horington," Jessica slowly uttered.
Her eyes gradually went cold.
"All right!" Alfred was overjoyed. He got up and walked up to her. "Let me arrange for it. Don't worry. I'll take care of this and help you get back everything that belongs to the Queen family." Jessica didn't say anything further. She looked over at the building of the Gulliford family in the distance and let out a long sigh.
In the hospital, it wasn't until the afternoon that Trevor opened his eyes.
"Jessica."
He slowly regained consciousness and swept his gaze across the room in search of that figure.
"What Jessica? Have you lost your mind? Your grandpa has been worriedly staying by your side all this while. How could you merely think about that woman! What an unappreciative brat!" Vincent's eyes were filled with rage as he huffily berated Trevor.
"Enough!" Old Mr. Gulliford cut him off coldly. "He just woke up. Why're you being so harsh? You can leave first. I want to have a talk with him."
"Yes, Father."
Vincent nodded and took a glance at Trevor. Despite feeling bad for him, he, in fact, didn't care much about Trevor.
After all, he had a lot of illegitimate children, and Trevor obviously wasn't his favorite one. He was willing to spend so much effort nurturing Trevor because of the latter's legal status. On top of that, the Gulliford family needed a ruler in the future. Trevor couldn't care less about Vincent. He merely fixed his gaze outside in the hope of seeing that woman.
"Stop looking around. She's not here."
Old Mr. Gulliford frowned. There was a hint of annoyance in his voice.
He wondered when his grandson had become such a wishy-washy person. Trevor had been known as someone hot interested in women over the years. He couldn't
understand why Trevor was so smitten with that woman.
"I've seen that woman before. There's nothing special about her."
Old Mr. Gulliford spat out what he thought of Jessica.
Trevor withdrew his gaze. Feeling disappointed, he didn't utter a single word.
Trevor didn't have to tell others how good Jessica was. Even if he did, they wouldn't understand as well. Only he was aware of that.
"What do you want? You're willing to give up your life for her?" Old Mr. Gulliford continued.NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
He was enraged to see Trevor being so sad.
"How useless! He becomes so
devastated because of a woman it's against the culture of the Gulliford
family," Old Mr. Gullifordiford
huffed
inwardly.
"Grandpa, I just want her," Trevor said in a deep voice. His response was concise.
It wasn't simply about giving up his life. Without her, there's no point in living.
Old Mr. Gulliford leaped up abruptly. He could no longer suppress his anger.
"All she wants is nothing but money. If you were powerless and penniless, do you think she would treat you the same way? You are a smart person. How could you not understand this? Is it worth becoming like this for an avaricious woman?"
"She's worth it."
Trevor couldn't be bothered to explain. He knew that Jessica was not an avaricious woman. Instead, it was him who wanted to get close to her.
"You're hopeless. But I'm telling you. She won't show up again. You should just focus on your recovery."
With that, Old Mr. Gulliford turned around and left the hospital. He had made up his mind not to let that woman appearagain.
"That vyxen will only disturb his mind. Keeping her will only bring harm," Old Mr. Gulliford pondered.
Trevor was shocked upon hearing that. He immediately took out his phone and made a call to Martin. "Mr. Gulliford, is there anything I can do foryou?"
