Chapter 181
Trevor quickly supported Jessica and carefully helped her to Yolanda's bedside.
"Yolanda, wake up. How long are you going to sleep? I'll cook, make the bed, and wash the clothes. I won't be lazy anymore, so wake up, okay?"
Jessica gently shook Yolanda's arm, just as she always did to wake the latter up. She pursed her lips as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Yolanda, what should I do without you?"
Jessica covered her eyes with her hands and let tears drip through her fingers. She could not imagine what she would do without Yolanda in the future. Her best friend had done so much for her.
She often helped her to care for the children, manage the house, and shared all of her burdens.
Jessica would not have survived the past three years without Yolanda.
"Don't worry, Jessica. I will hire the best doctors and medicine to treat her."
Trevor's heart ached as he watched Jessica.
"This is my fault. This is all my fault!" Jessica's cries became louder as her shoulders trembled.
"This isn't your fault. You can't blame yourself for this!"
Trevor looked at her worriedly, his eyes full of tenderness.
"No, this is my fault. Did you know? That car kept following us, and Yolanda realized he was after me. Someone is out to get me. It was the same with that taxi driver. They are after my life."
Jessica recalled the pain Trevor had suffered to save her. She looked at Yolanda lying on the bed and squatted defeatedly, her entire body filled with guilt.
"It's all my fault. I shouldn't be alive. I should be dead. Why is everyone getting hurt on my behalf? It should be me lying on that bed. I'm so useless. I'm a jinx."
Jessica squatted in the corner, and her arms tightened around her head.
When she closed her eyes, her mind was filled with images of every car accident.
It had happened three times. How many car accidents must she go through before she can live a peaceful life? What exactly had she done wrong?
"That's not true. It's not your fault,
Jessica. It's all my fault. I should never have let you leave my side. Don't be afraid. With me here, no one will dare to hurt you again. No one will be able to hurt you anymore."
Trevor's heart ached as he held her in his arms. The warm embrace was like a huge harbor. For some reason, it gave Jessica a sense of belonging and safety. "Jessica, don't leave me again, okay? I almost went crazy trying to find you," Trevor said in distress.
He would have fallen into despair if he had not found her.
Jessica's despair was slowly chipped away by his embrace, and her emotions slowly lifted.
"Stop joking around, Mr. Gulliford. We're not suitable for each other."
She slowly pushed his arm away, her eyes gloomy.
"It doesn't matter whether we're suitable or not.
When I was in your arms, you promised to always stay by my side. Are you going back on your words now?" Trevor held her wrists firmly, his voice filled with anger.
"How is it difficult for you to find me, Mr. Gulliford?
Even if I didn't look for you, it's a trivial matter for you to find me in Horington. Why say that you couldn't find me? Don't you think it's
justify yourself?" Content n't
justify yourself?"
Jessica frowned as she looked at Yolanda. The corners of her lips curved into a determined arc.
She did not go abroad like she did three years ago and worked for the Whiteburn family in Horington. It was extremely easy for Trevor to find her. Trevor was not a fool. He could definitely read between the lines. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
