We didn’t stay long in Tagaytay because his secretary called that there was a problem with the company.

I didn’t say anything about our son because he just said that he wanted to enjoy his freedom as a bachelor. So what’s the point of telling him truth? He’ll just reject our son for sure.

Lourdes has also returned so there are two of us now cleaning the house. I can go home at night and sleep with Hivo. As for Steven, he was out of town for a week so we didn’t see each other now for a week too.

My forehead furrowed. Did Steven let her? Does Steven know this?

“Oh you’re here.” The look of annoyance on her face was obvious as she looked at me.

I was about to leave to go to the pool when Amandaconda grabbed my hand.

“Wait a minute. Don’t be rude,” I looked at her and my whole body almost trembled with anger.

“Let go,” I said and tried to calm myself down.

“I don’t want to. You’re just a maid here, but in Tagaytay, you’re acting like the wife of Steven,”

“At least the man you say is the father of your child didn’t throw me away. Unlike you,” I pulled my hand away from her grip when she suddenly slapped me.

I growled in anger so I slapped her back. I don’t care if she is pregnant. Like I said, I’m not like everyone else who can just be oppressed.

“What’s happening here?” a sophisticated lady entered and Amandaconda started crying.

“Oh Ria!” Lourdes whispered to me. Fears creep into her face while looking at the newcomer.

“I’m sorry ma’am. Ria didn’t know what she did,” Aleng Lourdes apologized to her.

“Mommy, send that girl away. She hurts me,” Amandaconda said crying. I wanted to roll my eyes. She’s so plastic.

“Is that true?” a sophisticated lady’s face had no emotion while looking at me.

“I’m sorry ma’am,” I apologized.

“Apologize to her. Can’t you see that she is pregnant? Something might happen to her child because of what you did.” I closed my eyes and wanted to cry because the situation was so unfair.

“What are you waiting for? I said apologize to her,” she said when I didn’t follow what she wanted.

“Ria, come on and apologize,” Lourdes whispered while worriedly looking at me. I couldn’t. I’m not at fault here. I just defended myself. What’s wrong with that?

“I’m sorry,” I forced myself to say that.

“Good. Lourdes, where’s Steven?”

“He’s still in the business trip, ma’am,” Lourdes answered politely while motioning for me to go to the swimming pool.

This is so funny, she’s so protective of Amanda’s child where in fact, she already has a grandchild with me.

I cleaned the pool and then after, I saw Steven who was frowning and heading my way.

“Why?” I asked but I was surprised when he suddenly hugged me.

“Did they hurt you?” He asked me while examining my body as if I had bruises.

“I’m fine Steven,” I told him gently.

“Steven, what are you doing?” We heard Amandaconda scream.

Steven angrily turned to them and hid me behind him. As if like, he’s protecting me or something. He just came home? I wanted to ask him how’s the trip but he’s busy on shielding me from Amanda and his mom.

“Mom, what are you doing? Why is she here?”

“Calm down son. She’s here because you’re the father of her child so she must live her with you.”

“Why are you defending that maid?” His mom looked at me seriously and ignored her son who was looking at them angrily.

“No! I hired her so you have no right to fire her.”

“And you’re answering me now because of that girl?”

“No mom! But you are too much. Why are you interfering with me? Why are you forcing me to be the father of that woman’s child when I am not?” I took back my hand that Steven was holding and faced his mom.

“I’m sorry ma’am, I’ll just resign”

“Good!” his mom said. I can’t imagine my son’s life in this family. Good thing I haven’t told Steven everything yet.

“No! I won’t allow it!” Steven protested. Steven’s voice was full of authority and anger, even Amandaconda was unable to move. I can feel his anger and opposition to my decision.

“Why are you leaving?” We looked at the new arrival. It’s Hannah and her forehead is furrowed.

“Sister in law, that girl slapped me,” Amandaconda said to Hannah and she even held on to the girl’s arm.

“Get away from me. We’re not close.” Hannah said. Maybe if we weren’t in a serious situation, I would laugh especially when I saw that Amandaconda was embarrassed.

“Mom, let’s leave my brother alone. If you want that girl to live here, she can sleep in my brother’s guest room and please tell her to act accordingly. I don’t want her to act like she’s a queen or I’ll smash her face. Anyway, in just a few months, we can arrange a DNA test to her child.”

It’s obvious that she doesn’t like Amanda. Their mother sighed and answered.

“Fine. Anyway, I’m leaving,” she said and left in front of us. When Hannah looked at me, she winked before approaching Amanda.

“Fix your stuff in the guest room. And don’t ask anyone for help because you have hands.” Hannah said to Amanda and followed her mother.

When I looked at Steven, he was looking at me angrily.

“Why?”

“I didn’t like what you said earlier.” His whole face was red. He’s angry indeed.

“You and your mom will only fight because of me so it’s better that I just leave.”

“And you think I will agree?”

“Yes. Because you can find someone else to replace me.”

“What? What did you say?”

“Steven, we’ll talk later. I have something else to do,” I don’t know where our conversation is going.

“No, let’s talk right now. You can’t leave the house. You stay with me and only me.”

He was about to speak when Hannah returned and called him.

Steven went to her and they talked for a while then I saw Steven walking inside the house.

“It’s my time now. Besides, I’m the one who’s jealous. Hivo likes them more than me. But I get along better with Divine, I just don’t feel well with Lia,”

“Let’s have dinner at home if that’s okay with you.”

“Can I go with you?” she asked.

“If you don’t have anything to say, then I’ll leave!” Hannah turned to me “See you later Ri,” she said softly before leaving.

When I looked at Amanda, she looked at me badly. I just ignored her and went inside the house. Are you jealous, girl?
