Unforgiven Sins

My face can hardly be painted. I don’t really understand what I’m feeling right now, and he is always a problem for me.

“Are you asleep Ruby?” I asked her but ten seconds passed and I heard nothing but a loud noise from her mouth.

I sat down and peeked slightly and he was fast asleep. “You fall asleep so quickly,” I said to myself and straightened up in bed.

But before I closed my eyes, the black envelope on the other table near the bathroom caught my attention. I didn’t get up because I felt like I forgot something or that envelope was really pulling me.

I looked at my partner before finally taking it and he was fast asleep. I still chose to take it easy and take a moment to look before opening it.

Normal envelope but looks like it will be loved. It was small and had paper inside. I opened it and the time and events for tomorrow unfolded before me. GET READY FOR LAST NIGHT. ‘RED PARTY’. What caught my attention was the highlight of the event and its time which was past 10 PM.

It is not an invitation but a schedule with reminders. I even looked for an envelope because I knew it was for both of us and he had to have it too. I went over to the bed to check on Ruby, but she was still sleeping peacefully. I just put it on the small brown cabinet next to us so I can easily see it the next day.

I just shared the same room with her and she snores really loudly.

I woke up as if someone was videoing next to me. I slowly opened my eyes and could not believe what I was seeing and hearing.

“Good morning, sissy! Let’s get up and have breakfast.” While she focuses on the mirror while applying foundation to her face.

“What time is it?” I asked while stretching.

“6 A. M.,” she said sparingly. I went back to bed when I knew the time.

“You’re so early in the morning, Ruby, I thought it was noon.”

She is currently brushing her hair now. “I’m sorry Cinyla, I’m hungry and I’m really early because I’m a morning person.” Her excuse was that she thought I might have slept well last night. I’m actually still yawning.

I just got up and fixed myself. “You were really down last night. I thought you were still awake, you put me to sleep right away. Wait, Ruby, did you receive a black envelope?” I remembered last night so I decided to ask because I only saw one envelope.

“What are you saying, Cinyla? I don’t have a black envelope, what is it for?” My heart almost gave out because of its fast beating.

“Do you know that the last event was last night and then we rested in the morning? There is no event yet, sir, is there still one?” Ruby asked while putting red lipstick on her lips.

I hurriedly stood up to show him what I saw last night. But I couldn’t find anything, not on the table and there in the small brown cabinet.

“It’s just here, it can’t be lost. Didn’t you notice an envelope here Ruby earlier when you woke up?” I continued to search even though I could smell myself.

“Cinyla isn’t there. Whatever was cluttered last night, that’s just what we both used,” he explained while looking at what I was doing.

“What envelope are you looking for? What does it look like?”

I almost looked under but I couldn’t see anything. “It’s small and black, with a little paper inside for what happens later and a few reminders.”

“Are you serious about that? It’s nothing, maybe it’s just a dream of yours.” She laughed a little to my surprise.

“That’s not a dream Ruby, I know and I’m sure I touched a black envelope last night. There’s even a red party later, the time of the event is 10 P. M.,” I said seriously.

“If I were you, Cinyla, I’d get ready first and take care of myself. There’s no black envelope, okay? Calm down.” He came closer and patted my shoulder. “Take a shower and we’re going downstairs,” he said and pushed me into the bathroom. It’s just a few steps to the right before our bed.

I just followed and nodded to what he said. But I can’t just ignore that because it’s true that my eyes touched, saw, and read. I just don’t understand why it suddenly disappeared like a bubble or as if someone entered our room. I was chosen and entered the bathroom.

I grabbed the bathrobe from the back door and went straight to the shower area. Maybe it’s all a dream, maybe I just need to take a shower and forget what I saw and read last night.

As the water poured over my body, I couldn’t forget what I read. I held my heart and could feel its fast beating.

“Cinyla, I’ll wait for you on the first floor, okay? In the food area, you know that, right?” Ruby shouted outside the bathroom door. I turned off the shower first to answer what he was saying.

“Cinylla?” she calls my name.

“Y-yes, I’ll follow you and have coffee first,” I simply replied.

“Alright Cinyla, see you later.” I heard it leave because of his footsteps. I just took a deep breath when Ruby left. I just chose to feel their warm water.

I let their medium-sized blue soap rub over my body.

Twenty minutes passed, and I heard footsteps. “Ruby, did you forget something?” I screamed but no one answered and I was too close to myself to close the door. “S-who is that? R-Ruby are you there?” I asked again even though only silence answered me. I quickly rinsed myself and my hair as well. I almost did it for one minute, I just finished right away.

I took the bathrobe from the side and wrapped it around my body.

“Ruby, are you still there?” I asked again. I was walking when I saw the black envelope on the table in the bathroom again.

I swallowed hard and my heart sank even more. The paper was red in color and I immediately took it and there was something written on it.

Hi Cinyla,

I know that you and he have already been together. I really miss you, but I have to wait for the right time. I changed my mind to have a red party. The venue is too big for me to introduce myself. I am so sorry if I went inside. Next time, take care and close the door.

I don’t know if I should scream or what. I quickly went out to check the door but it was locked. I closed my eyes and held the door for a moment. I tried to calm myself down and got dressed.

I put that letter out of my mind and hid the envelope in my bag to make sure it wouldn’t go out of my mind and I could explain to Ruby that I wasn’t dreaming or that it wasn’t an illusion. All of that is true.

While I was fixing myself I remembered that Ruby was waiting for me and suddenly my phone rang.

I took it and answered the call. “Hi, are you okay?” a familiar guy is calling right now.”

“Sir Ben Chua?” I wondered on the other line.

“Yes I am, I am so sorry to call you so earlier. Did I wake you up?” the tone of his voice was serious but obviously worried.

“Nope. I was awake a while ago, why did you get called?”

“I guess it’s your morning, nothing. I just want to know that you’re safe.”

I thought and took a deep breath. I didn’t know if I should say what was happening or just let it go.

“Actually, I’m not okay now. Someone came here while I am in the bathroom.” My body was really treacherous and willingly told him. After a while, the door opened and the man I was talking to slowly approached me.

“W-what are you doing here?” I asked as I slowly put down my phone, I managed to fix the black dress I was wearing and fortunately, I finished getting dressed.

He closed the door first and hurried to me. “Are you okay?” What’s wrong with you?”

“Answer me first, how did you get in?” I asked annoyed. Even though I haven’t fixed it yet, I just let it go.

“I have your duplicate key. I know your room number and that’s why I was called because actually I passed by the hallway of your room and I want to talk to you, but Ruby left your room so I didn’t go in. Until I decided to go to my room. I think it was almost 25 minutes when I left the room to eat breakfast. Until a mysterious guy is walking around, a man passed by just now. He is wearing a black jacket and has a hat. I didn’t even see him up close or face him. He walked fast, maybe he would notice me.” After he told his story, my knees almost went weak. “Hey Cinyla, are you damn okay, huh?” He is now freaking serious. While I am now confused and scared. But I tried to calm down even though I didn’t really know what was going on.

“I’m scared.” He hugs me to comfort me right now.

“Calm down, I am here. What really happened?”

It takes me 5 minutes before I let myself calm down and explain. “I think he is here. I don’t know sir, I am taking a bath a while ago and Ruby already left the room because she was hungry and she was going to wait for me on the first floor near the food area. Yet, I heard footsteps and it seemed like someone came inside but nothing happened to me. I got a red paper with a letter.”

We are currently sitting on the bed as I calm myself down and he holds my hand. My feelings are mixed now and I suddenly remember Ruby.

“What time is it?” I asked him. He looked at the watch. “Almost 7:30 A. M. Why? By the way where is the letter?” he asked. I immediately pointed to my black bag and quickly stood up to look at it.

He immediately saw the red paper and frowned as he read.

“WTH!” He shouted.

“How did he get into my resort? You have to come with me or you can always be with Ruby until we get home. It’s not possible!” He said seriously and held the paper tightly in his fist,

“I will ask my staff here to check all the CCTV and also I will hire more bodyguards.” He came closer and looked me in the eyes.

“Thank you for letting me know. My hunch was right that he passed by. I thought he was quiet. I don’t understand his letters. I feel close to the two of us, but I don’t have any idea who he is! Are you now, okay?” His eyes are pure and looks like a worried husband. It would be nice to think but it’s not possible.

“Cinylla?” He tapped me and I woke up to the fact that I was an idiot again.

“Y-yes, I’m fine now. Thank you, sir.”

He held my hand. I can feel the softness of his palm again with his fragrant and loving perfume and his red lips as if they are hurting me.

“For now, fix yourself. We need to eat, I’ll just take you until you see Ruby. Don’t object, okay? I need to be sure you’re safe. I need to know if Ruby or whoever you work with is with you. Please, follow.” He almost didn’t want to say more so I chose to just nod.

“No one will hurt you, Cinyla. I am here.” His words make me safe and his smiles make me feel calm.

“Thank you, sir, thank you for coming.” He just smiled and touched my cheek.

“Stop calling me sir, no worries. You’re my priority, I’ll wait for you outside. Hurry up and don’t beautify yourself. You’re all mine and you’re already beautiful.” My cheeks almost felt hot from what he said, it came out and I could breathe properly. I immediately looked in the mirror and talked to myself for a moment.

‘Calm down, Cinyla. Get ready, someone is trying to get into your life, you’ll still be thrilled!’

I fixed myself and combed my hair. I only put on a little blush, lipstick, and foundation. I wear my white sandals. Face and turn to the mirror again. “Perfect!”

He knocked. “Are you done?” he asked.

“Yes! Let’s go out, sir,” I quickly replied.

I took a deep breath and cleared my mind of what was bothering me. My small white bag was taken with my retouched makeup and my phone.

I also got the key and put it inside my bag with the card needed to enter this room.

The door opened, and the man waiting for me was looking at me seriously.

“You’re so gorgeous and sexy… This is something you’re good at. Anyways, are you ready and hungry?” he asked while we were walking.

I didn’t immediately answer his question, he gave me a common compliment but it has a big impact. I swallowed before I could speak. “Thank you. I’m a bit hungry and I need to find Ruby,” I said in our conversation until we reached the food area in just a few moments. It’s just on the left side and it only takes 5-10 minutes to walk.

“I know when you see Ruby text me, okay? I’ll just send the food to the office.”

“O-office?”

“Yeah. This is my resort and I have an office here too. I need to know who is that damn man who goes to your room. By the way, I see her. Message me, Cinyla.” I saw Ruby and she was waving. Anna, Lea, and Bea are with him. I just hope he didn’t see us. I would have thanked him but he was gone.

He left quickly.

I go to their table and I thought that he would know who he is.

“Hi! Sorry Ruby took me so long,” I apologized while sitting beside her.

“It’s okay, let’s go and eat. Let’s get some food.” Bea’s invitation. Everyone nodded and we got up to get food.

I look outside but Sir BenChua is already gone.

“I saw you,” Ruby whispered.

“You and Sir BenChua are together,” she added while we were getting our food.

“Tell me a story later,” she added while taking bread and hotdogs.

I didn’t answer her but thought of something to say to her later. Sir BenChua it’s your fault.
