Unforgiven Sins

Chapter 41: Big Dinner of Spyanata

Cinyla’s POV

Everyone is prepared and has their own table.

We are in the center of the resort where there is a big gold fountain. It also has long tables that seem to be divided into three columns. Everything was set up as if we were the only ones waiting. The speaker is also loud and there is also a DJ in front.

Before we got here, I also saw some of our colleagues, they were sitting with their close friends.

They are enjoying the food and laugh while having a noisy sound because of loud music in our background. Eventually, we are now waiting for the real ceremony.

“It’s been a long time!” Joy said annoyed at the other table.

“Yes, it’s time to start, and we’ll all I think everyone is here, yet he is not here,” Ruby speak while eating her first dish.

Honestly, I don’t understand Sir’s setup either. Last time it was a quick event and we thought it was the last but it wasn’t.

“It’s also unfair to Sir, he takes great care of his employees and staff. Imagine that the entire company has a three-day vacation at his resort. He’s really smart!” Ruby’s eyes almost sparkled as she told us this. It’s a good thing we’re a little far from the speaker because otherwise, we’d probably just be shouting.

“That’s true! Sir, he will be paid on time, nothing less, nothing more. Exactly and when he deserves, more! That’s why no one is resigning from the company, because of his goodness,” Lea said who was just behind us. I was surprised by his appearance.

“But do you think you have a girlfriend, sir?” Joana asked who was in front of me. I don’t know why he suddenly asked us this. Maybe because they don’t see a girl or even a girlfriend.

“Maybe there is, but he doesn’t let us know because we are gossip!” Bea laughed after she told them.

I don’t interrupt their conversation, I just observe and listen to them. Not because I know anything, but because I just can’t absorb everything I hear and know. It makes me think that the woman who makes his heart beat is very lucky. That’s me!

I just sipped orange juice and chose to remove the things that were bothering me.

“You’re so quiet, Cinyla. Are you okay?” Ruby noticed me so I straightened up and smiled. “Of course! I’ve only been in the company for a year, so I’m just listening to you guys. It’s also surprising that he doesn’t bring any women to the company, I mean that’s common for our handsome boss.” My mouth was covered when I mentioned that he was handsome.

“Oh, bestie, you admit that you’re in love with our boss, right?” it asked with a hint of teasing.

“Yes! Do you have a crush on sir?” teased Lea.

“No, Lea, you’ve been dipping, haven’t you? Maybe you bet sir.” Ruby snapped that it annoyed her.

“Just participating but I don’t want anything from you, sir,” excused Lea who seemed to be still sniffling and looking down.

“No. I’m just his secretary, but no one intervenes between us,” I answered.

“Are you serious? But your reaction is suspicious and anyone here not saying that there is intervening between you and sir, okay?” Ruby whispered and their conversation already reached me.

“Stop Ruby. That makes no sense, sir, he’s gay. He doesn’t really like women that’s the real reason.” Ruby looked at me like there was something wrong with what I said.

“Who’s gay?” I heard a familiar and serious voice from our behind.

“Who told you that I don’t like women?” he added with his husky voice.

My companions were almost silent because even they didn’t know how to speak.

I slowly turned around and saw Sir BenChua’s handsome and serious face. He was wearing a black tuxedo and his hair was still gelled. He is fine now.

Why did he come so suddenly? Besides, I’m just kidding.

I’m also almost silent and I don’t know the right words to explain.

“Anyway, enjoy the dinner.” He smiled and left. I don’t know if he was serious or if I hurt him the way I did.

“Sir is really handsome, isn’t he? But Cinyla, you didn’t say anything to his question. Sir is very hot!” Lynn compliments.

“I was surprised when he came, I didn’t say anything because my explanation might lead to something else,” I apologized while sipping orange juice. Ruby suddenly coughed as if what she did meant something.

“Are you okay?” Lynn asked handing her a glass of water.

She easily took it and straight down his throat. “T-thank you,” she responded briefly and thanked her for what she did to divert the conversation. I looked around and looked for his presence, but the hotel was too wide and big to look for him. I couldn’t even explain it to him properly.

The sound on the stage is different now as if there is a fancy banquet. Lynn and Lea didn’t bother me anymore. I was able to breathe properly and I just signaled to Ruby that she should take care of talking to all gossiping next to us.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

I said goodbye to them first and that I was going to take a bath. It’s a good thing no one came with me because the truth is I’m going to find Sir BenChua. I need to talk to him, I need to apologize to him.

I stood up and pretended to go straight to the restroom. I went straight to the left side where the stage was near so they wouldn’t think where I was going. It’s hard that they might ask me something again.

In my search, I have almost all the employees of the company. I know almost all of them not because I’m a friendly person, but because I often talk to them and because I’m also a secretary. Every time I bump into someone, I just smile and keep looking for him.

I have almost gone around every side and corner but I still can’t see where he is.

“Where could he be?” I said while I was still spinning until I felt tired. So I just stopped because I almost went to all the places he could possibly go to, but he might be busy.

“Am I the one you’re looking for?” I almost screamed because of his sudden speech. But I stopped myself. When you’re not really looking for it, you’ll see it all of a sudden.

“N-no, where are you,” I apologized and composed myself and didn’t make it obvious that I was looking for him.

“I know, it’s your fault. I just can’t tell everyone that you’re my girl. Not just my girl, the one I love.” He didn’t have a brake on speaking so I decided to pull him to where there weren’t many people.

“Can you stop being like that, put a brake on what you’re saying,” I said while the fool smiled.

“Why are you smiling?” Until I noticed that I was holding his hand too much. I quickly let it go.

“S-sorry,” I uttered and tried to face him strongly.

“I am sorry, Cinyla. I understand, but if you miss me, you can say it’s not like this, you’re going to take me to nowhere just to be alone with me.” He smiled and looked at me ductile. I did raise an eyebrow at him.

“Excuse me?” I said because his words are too much now. I looked at him from head to toe.

“Oh Cinyla, common stop thinking of me and looking at me like that. I know I am so hot,” he added which seemed to make my blood get to my nerves.

“You know, just eat, I’m going back to our table, and might be looking for me. Besides, I’m not looking for you, don’t assume!”

I decided to walk out when suddenly he pulled me, I leaned against the wall where there was no one but the two of us.

“I wish I had just planned for the two of us, I wish I could have singled you out.” His face was so close that it seemed anytime we can kiss each other. I calm myself but his breath is fragrant comforting me now.

I swallowed one after another. What will he do?

It came close to my ear, “I miss you, don’t be angry, it’s not right for you. Do you want me to shout to them that I love you?”

I pushed him so that he moved aside and I could get out of his way. “S-sorry. But, don’t do that. It’s not possible, I don’t deserve it, just think about what others and your mommy do,” I said emotionally. Whether I like it or not, I know where I will end up, besides I don’t want to fall and especially I don’t want to get hurt.

“I see. I know you don’t like it. But I am serious, yet I am still thinking of you. I think about what you will feel more so I don’t do it. I let them think what they want to think, but let me remind you Cinyla. Once everything is fine, I will do what my heart beats.” He pointed to his heart as if it had been planned.

“Let’s end this conversation, fix yourself. Go back there and eat. I am sorry again.” He adjusted his necktie and then left.

I was the first to back out but he won. I hate him!

I just chose to leave and return to our table. This is so draining. What he said was too serious and strange, and even one of them I don’t know what I really feel right now. It’s a mess, it’s a mess.

When I reached our table, I noticed their noise and laughter. They just stopped when I sat down.

“How long, sis? What happened to you?” asked Lea.

“Yes! You were gone for almost 30 minutes,” Bea added.

“I got lost, it’s too broad as I thought I’d memorized it,” I would say as an excuse to pass and not think of another excuse.

“Ah! In terms of things, even I will get lost! But you and sir are unfair together!” Seline teased that it was already here at our table. Marites indeed!

Until I caught my eyes on him, he was on the left side with his Mommy. There were only two of them there and someone was serving their waiter.

“Maybe it’s just a coincidence.” Try to smile and drink water. “How are you? What are you talking about?” I’m different from the topic.

“Nothing, I’m just wondering who Sir’s woman might be. A while ago I saw him pull someone to hide in the other corner. I don’t know because they were arguing, you look like Cinyla. I was almost silent when Bea was telling her story.

“Don’t get me wrong, huh? I was looking for the restroom earlier and then I noticed a woman holding sir’s hand. I don’t know who it is, because she has her back turned. But I know if it’s sir,” he added as if it was a big issue for them.

I calmed down for a few minutes before speaking, “Maybe it’s another woman. Sir and I are far away together because I’m in the restroom.”

“It’s unlikely to be you, maybe another girl. But he’s lucky!” Bea answered as if she regretted and thought about that girl. I drank water again and took a bite of the Shanghai. I just hope he didn’t see us.

“Stop being gossiper let’s just eat.” Ruby’s invitation seems to have saved me from the hot issue again.

Bea kept quiet and just ate and the conversation changed. Ruby is my savior! Sir is too much like an apple!

It simply smiled at me. “Ruby, let’s get dessert, would you like?” I purposely invited him so that I could talk to him properly, just the two of us.

“Sure!” he answered quickly and we both stood up. No one came with us because they still had food.

As we walked, Ruby was already muttering but still looking straight ahead.

“You Cinyla! Admit what happened to you?” He seemed to be thrilled while asking me that.

“Nothing! Besides, don’t be noisy, I’ll tell you the story later.” We went straight to the Dessert station.

We hadn’t even gotten close enough when someone came up behind us. “Hi girls, how are the foods?” Sir BenChua asked as if I didn’t know if he intended to obey or wanted to point out.

“Hi sir! You’re there, it’s delicious too.” Ruby turned around and smiled widely.

All I did was try to smile.

“Enjoy eating, enjoy your dessert Cinyla.” He looked directly at me and winked. Ruby almost shuddered and even jumped at what sir did to me.

I pulled his hand and waved to sir as a goodbye. “Alright sir, we’re leaving.” I hurried to make Sir stop what he was doing.

“Hey Cinyla, wait! Too bad, you guys are so cute!” Flattery caused me to be even more annoyed, I took a wine next to the chocolate fountain.

“You’re crazy!” Ruby teased again.

“Stop Ruby, stop it!”

“Okay fine, calm down! Relax, let’s get our desserts so we can go back to the table and you can tell what you have to tell.

“Next time, let’s just get some food, I’m hungry.” I hold my stomach to be realistic and believe him.

“Alright, let’s go!” Ruby followed and remain quiet.

While we were walking and standing in line for dessert. I thought of his face again. I can’t forget his words, so deep but meaningful.

Ugh!

It’s your fault, everything is your fault!
